The technology has been steadily growing since the early days of big data. However, the ability to give machines access to big data and allow them to apply complex mathematical calculations repetitively, while learning for themselves, is a new development. The key objective of this article is to propose a conceptual model for successful implementation of ML in organisations. This article also covers some of the potential benefits of ML, and provides a guide to some of the opportunities that are available for using ML in various businesses. Furthermore, this study reviews key attributes of successful ML platforms and illustrates how to overcome some of the key implementation challenges. Finally, this study highlights some of the successful implementations of ML solutions used in the manufacturing and service industry.","PeriodicalId":386151,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Knowl. Eng. Data mining is the technique of gathering knowledge from a dataset, but dataset often contains sensitive information so discharging such data may cause privacy breaches. The problem of privateness desires to be is addressed earlier than streaming facts are launched for mining and evaluation functions. Various algorithms proposed so far have focused mainly on static data and very few are on data streams. Perturbation and k-anonymity have received significant attention over other privacy-preserving techniques because of its easiness and effectiveness in guarding data. The proposed hybrid approach is an extension to heuristic-based data perturbation where privacy is preserved through computed tuple values for each instance and users define sensitive drift (SD) and an extension to k-anonymisation where privacy gain has been worked out for choosy anonymisation for a set of tuples and perturbs the sensitive attribute values on data streams.","PeriodicalId":386151,"journal":{"name":"Int. The mapping of information from the congestion area to the main server is achieved using sensor-based technology, while the data is analysed using Hadoop technology and alternative route can be determined using GPS technology. Thus, using all these technology at once, we can prevent the traffic jams at the area and also predict the traffic structure of the area. Using GPS technology, we can also suggest alternative routes to the upcoming vehicle to that particular area.","PeriodicalId":386151,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Knowl. Eng. One important key characteristic of server virtualisation is virtual machine (VM) migration. With the popularity of cloud paradigm, the number of enterprise applications deployed over cloud-systems are increasing. This shift in cloud services has brought new challenges of frequently varying resource requirement by the VM migration operation. Inaccurate allocation of bandwidth may affect end-user experience and reduce the cloud service provider's profit, Therefore, in this work we setup QEMU-KVM cloud VM migration experimental testbed environment and run CPU, memory intensive cloud benchmarks on the migrated VM. From the experimental results, it is found that increase in bandwidth significantly lower the migration time and downtime up-to an extent, however, reserving maximum bandwidth does not help anymore for performance improvement of migration mechanism.","PeriodicalId":386151,"journal":{"name":"Int. Although the benefits and opportunities of cloud computing are tremendous, its challenges and problems require a huge amount of effort to be addressed. The ability to deliver guaranteed quality of services is crucial for the commercial success of this computing paradigm. We consider the cloud centers which handle the requests from different classes of customers such as high-priority, low-priority, etc. on the basis of service level agreements. Both the modes have equal chances of receiving service, and one and more virtual machines are used to serve each arrival mode. We analyse the system considering an infinite-buffer multi-server queuing system with two priority classes of impatient customers. We obtain various performance measures to analyse such a system which is too complex due to abandonment phenomenon.","PeriodicalId":386151,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Knowl. Eng. In order to guarantee the continuity of the electrical energy supply, companies must have effective means to prevent risks that may arise on the electricity networks. This paper is focused on the risk of insufficient power supply for end customers. The solutions consist of upsizing the existing equipment configuration and/or add other equipments in order to guarantee an increase in power supply. The proposed approach is based on distributed artificial entities corresponding to the distributed enterprise actors. We propose a control system, based on a decision making system to help decision-makers to take the best scalability solution. The results show that the degree of effectiveness of each type of scalability depends on one electrical system configuration to another.","PeriodicalId":386151,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Knowl. Eng. However, a new generation of text mining tools enables researchers and practitioners to analyse large volumes of data. This paper illustrates the design of knowledge discovery system - Chanakya using text mining. Chanakya works in two stages. Stage 1 uses naive Bayes classifier, a supervised machine-learning algorithm to train for classes, as we explicitly provide training data that is labelled with classes. Stage 2 uses k-means analysis, an unsupervised machine-learning algorithm to determine what categories are emerging from the mentions of each class. We use the 2016 presidential elections Twitter feeds to illustrate the use of Chanakya. Chanakya offers a commentary on the current state of the political arena after analysing the candidate tweets and how people are reacting to these tweets.","PeriodicalId":386151,"journal":{"name":"Int. For variable display sized gadgets, maintaining the quality of image is the major challenging task. The present investigation test highlights dynamic load balancing-based way to deal with this issue. Dynamic load balancing is applied using both parallel and pipelined architectures based on runtime state information of underlying resources. In exhibit think, we have considered image processing task as both CPU and memory intensive task and the impact of architectural contrast is studied. The optimally-sized image for a targeted display-sized device with better resolution is provided using three staged either pipelined or parallel processing. The steps involved in processing are resizing, quantisation and compression. This technique likewise gives better resource and storage utilisation.","PeriodicalId":386151,"journal":{"name":"Int. J.
