Based on 15 interviews with board members of Malaysian listed companies, the analysis of this study was conducted, using thematic analysis through NVivo version 10. Finally, the interpretive approach was adopted as the main worldview of the study.  \u0000The findings indicated that the practices of board members have shifted to stakeholder corporate governance primarily shareholders, employees, customers and the community. Several factors emerged as determinants of stakeholder corporate governance such as sustainability, values and ethics, corporate attributes, and individual attributes.  \u0000This study, implicates that, current corporate governance theories such as agency theory and stakeholder theory are inadequate to explain the actual behaviors of board members regarding the practices of stakeholder corporate governance. Therefore, this study proposes a practical theory regarding stakeholder corporate governance based on the actual behaviors of board members. ","PeriodicalId":385758,"journal":{"name":"EPH - International Journal of Business & Management Science","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127397000","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The author was surprised to notice the similaritybetween the rules laid down by Chanakya and the rules laid down in Magna Carta for the rulers of its era. The paperattempts to prove that Chanakya almost 1600 years before Magna Carta had already established the role of kingship andhis control on treasure of the king. There was a possibility that the fight between the Barons and the King John would not have taken place if they followed the rules of kingship, laid down by Chanakya in Arthshastra.","PeriodicalId":385758,"journal":{"name":"EPH - International Journal of Business & Management Science","volume":"99 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127294519","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study was guided by a number of theories including the implicit persons’ theory about motivation, the human capital theory which provides a perspective that value addition by people within an organization can contribute to better performance. Others are the Vroom’s expectancy theory, the Justice theory and the control theory. While studies have been done on the management of charitable children institutions (CCIs), little has addressed the role of strategic change on the performance of these important institutions. This study seeks to analyze the relationship between organizational structure change and the performance of charitable children institutions and the effects of technological change on the performance of charitable children institutions. A descriptive research design was used. Both primary and secondary data were used in this study. Primary data was collected from key informants using a self- administered questionnaire while Secondary data was derived from the children department and CCI records. Data was analyzed usingdescriptive and inferential statistics techniques. Inferential statistics was used to determine the relationship between the study variables and included analysis of variance regression. The study results of the first objective showed that 42.8 percent of the performance of charitable children institutions can be explained by organizational structure (R squared = 0.428). The study results of the second objective revealed that technological changes effect on performance was statistically significant (overall p-value = 0.016). Performance largely depended on the technological changes with 46.9 percent of performance being explained by technological changes (R squared = 0.469). The study recommends that the right structure and technology should be employed for the effective running of the CCIs in Kenya.","PeriodicalId":385758,"journal":{"name":"EPH - International Journal of Business & Management Science","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133694180","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Free healthcare will take away one major worry of poor masses. Things are going to change over the years with better healthcare, less sickness, less work loss, no medical expenditure related bankruptcy, better economic prospects & more food availability. This scheme will lead to enhanced business activities at all level, will create the job at many levels, there will the expansion of healthcare industry, but later it will lead to increased pollution and climate change leading to the new spectrum of diseases, increased health care use and increased insurance expenditure. Major problem is that corruption involves various layers of the healthcare system, including care providers, pharmacies, laboratories, corporate hospitals, mom and pop hospitals, clinics, pharmaceutical and instrument companies. Policymakers should use all technologies based measures including artificial intelligence, block chain technology, universal biometrics in healthcare, global positioning system, digital monitoring, mobile applications, point of care technologies, system reforms, big data collection, nudging, mobile health, telehealth, mass education, culture change and strong laws to prevent corruption as well as illness. Avoidance of inspector policy is best. For the success of the programme mines of healthcare, corruption must be destroyed.","PeriodicalId":385758,"journal":{"name":"EPH - International Journal of Business & Management Science","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114109394","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is well known that festivals and fairs have always been part and parcel of human culture since time immemorial. These are often celebrated at certain/ particular places on specific dates, wherein confluence of culture, trade and entertainment take place. In the Himalayan region trade has always been a challenge due to uneven terrains, dense forests, inaccessible and distant places. Furthermore diversity of flora and fauna, scarcity of ground water indeed make it difficult and in viable. Even though in the past the trade of articles to distant places had been in existence and this fact is consolidated by the presence of manuscripts/ Pandu scripts& commercial ledgers found in these regions. The researcher has vastly surveyed the region to make the case study resourceful to other persons.","PeriodicalId":385758,"journal":{"name":"EPH - International Journal of Business & Management Science","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123394669","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
