Amongst the existing methods, the SPH method is highlighted by its simplicity, versatility and adaptability. Nevertheless, several research show some limitations that affect both the stability and the realism of simulation. These limitations are related with the calculation of the mass density and the pressure gradient, mainly when the number of neighbouring particles is low as boundary and discontinuities. Also, the simulation realism is compromised when the incompressibility constraint is enforced and the fluid heating is not dissipated. To overcome these limitations, we present a new technique to simulate the fluid flow. It involves of a hybrid technique that allow us to calculate a stable pressure gradient and the mass density even when the number of neighbouring particle is low. Also, we directly control the incompressibility and dissipate the fluid heating with accurate. Thus, we obtain stable and realistic fluid simulation, even with higher time steps.","PeriodicalId":385751,"journal":{"name":"Spanish Computer Graphics Conference","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134523976","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Tools capable of accomplishing these processes are the so-called 3D GIS. However, these systems are not widely implemented, mainly because of their complexity. In this paper we present the data model of an underground infrastructure for city sanitation management. It discusses the design of the database, the acquisition and processing of such information, as well as the visualization and interaction with the resulting model.","PeriodicalId":385751,"journal":{"name":"Spanish Computer Graphics Conference","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124136360","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In a first step, the monument of 7 x 11 meters was acquired using triangulation laser scanning technology, producing a dataset of more than 2000 range maps for a total of more than one billion triangles. After alignment and registration, a nearly complete digital model with 173M triangles and a sampling density of the \u0000order of one millimeter was produced and repaired. The paper describes the model acquisition and construction, the use of specific scalable algorithms for model repair and simplification, and then focuses on the design of a hierarchical data structure for data managing and view-dependent navigation of this huge dataset on a PC. Finally, the paper describes the setup for a usable, user-friendly and immersive system that induces a presence perception in the visitors.","PeriodicalId":385751,"journal":{"name":"Spanish Computer Graphics Conference","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127837263","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We envision that HDR capture and display hardware will soon reach the mass market and become mainstream in most fields, from entertainment to scientific visualization. This will necessarily lead to an extensive redesign of the imaging pipeline. However, a vast amount of legacy content is available, captured and stored using the traditional, low dynamic range (LDR) pipeline. The immediate question that arises is: will our current LDR digital material be properly visualized on an HDR display? The answer to this question involves the process known as reverse tone mapping (the expansion of luminance and contrast to match those of the HDR display) for which no definite solution exists. This paper studies the specific problem of reverse tone mapping for imperfect legacy still images, where some regions are under- or overexposed. First, we show the results of a psychophysical study compared with first-order image statistics, in an attempt to gain some understanding in what makes an image be perceived as incorrectly exposed; second, we propose a methodology to evaluate existing reverse tone mapping algorithms in the case of imperfect legacy content.","PeriodicalId":385751,"journal":{"name":"Spanish Computer Graphics Conference","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-09-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128800336","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This fusion can be performed by projecting the point cloud into the image plane and retrieving additional data for each point. Nevertheless, the raw projection omits the occlusion caused by foreground surfaces, thus assigning wrong information to 3D points. For large point clouds, testing the occlusion of each point from every viewpoint is a time-consuming task. Hence, we propose several algorithms implemented in GPU and based on the use of z-buffers. Given the size of nowadays point clouds, we also adapt our methodologies to commodity hardware by splitting the point cloud into several chunks. Finally, we compare their performance through the response time.
