The LO frequency generation paths of the Tx and the Rx are driven using two independent and unlocked frequency synthesizers. Due to this operation mode, the Tx LO leakage is down-converted in the Rx, generating a DC modulated tone that, if not properly handled, will prevent the system to operate appropriately. This paper analyses this effect and presents a solution to mitigate this impairment. Applying this, and using a 16-QAM modulation scheme, a maximum data-rate of 80 Gbps with an EVM of 12.5 % was achieved at a 1-meter distance.","PeriodicalId":385212,"journal":{"name":"2020 2nd 6G Wireless Summit (6G SUMMIT)","volume":"390 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123199137","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Device to device (D2D) transmission, or sidelink, is a promising technology which reduces the latency of base station transit and does not rely on the cellular coverage. There are some sensing-based methods to realize it. Among them, sensing-based semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) achieves a relatively better performance. However, in a high-density scenario, the reliability is hard to achieve due to miss reception and multiuser interference. In this paper, a distributed antenna deployment and a novel full-duplex V2V transceiver are proposed. The antenna deployment makes full duplex much easier to realize and increases the degree of freedom in spatial domain. The transceiver uses autonomous grant-free transmission not relying on reference signal to support a large amount of users with a very high spectrum efficiency. By sufficiently utilizing the user multiplexing abilities in power, code, spatial and constellation domain, the transceiver is able to support highly reliable transmissions especially for the short-range vehicles. The simulation results show the proposed method achieves a much better performance and meanwhile uses only 20% time-frequency resources compared with the conventional method. Moreover, the adaptability to highly dynamic V2V network is also verified to be much better.","PeriodicalId":385212,"journal":{"name":"2020 2nd 6G Wireless Summit (6G SUMMIT)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123548879","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we investigate the potential of an RIS-based architecture for uplink sensor data transmission in an ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC) context. In particular, we propose an RIS-aided grant-free access scheme for an industrial control scenario, aiming to exploit diversity and achieve improved reliability performance. We consider two different resource allocation schemes for the uplink transmissions, i.e., dedicated and shared slot assignment, and three different receiver types, namely the zero-forcing, the minimum mean squared error (MMSE), and the MMSE-successive interference cancellation receivers. Our extensive numerical evaluation in terms of outage probability demonstrates the gains of our approach in terms of reliability, resource efficiency, and capacity and for different configurations of the RIS properties. An RIS-aided grant-free access scheme combined with advanced receivers is shown to be a well-suited option for uplink URLLC.","PeriodicalId":385212,"journal":{"name":"2020 2nd 6G Wireless Summit (6G SUMMIT)","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124011592","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The possible outcomes are either the positive value of the communication or being hacked or cheated in some way. Trust spans all protocol layers from the IP layer to applications and content. ITU - T is working on the framework architecture for trust networking. The White Paper after 1st IEEE 6G Summit advocated embedding trust into the 6G network in its networking chapter. We have worked on a concept we call Customer Edge Switching or cooperative firewalling for several years. The key domains linked with human life such as healthcare, transport, entertainment, and smart cities are expected to elevate the quality of service with high-end user experience. Therefore, the telecommunication infrastructure has to meet unprecedented service level requirements such as ultra high data rates and traffic volume for the prominent future applications such as Virtual Reality (VR), holographic communications, and massive Machine Type Communications (mMTC). There are significant challenges identifiable in the communication context to match the envisaged demand surge. The blockchain and distributed ledger technology is one of the most disruptive technology enablers to address most of the current limitations and facilitate the functional standards of 6G. We start from a BF design which optimizes a Massive MISO limit upper bound of the ergodic capacity, termed Expected Signal and Interference Power Weighted Sum Rate (ESIP-WSR). We extend a recently introduced large system analysis (LSA) for beamformers with partial CSIT, by a stochastic geometry inspired randomization of the channel covariance eigen spaces, leading to much simpler analytical results. These depend only on some essential channel characteristics such as the numbers of antennas and users, channel rank and eigenvalue profile, and (channel estimate) signal to noise ratio (SNR). We analyze the spectral efficiency behavior at extreme SNR regions which provide insights (through the SNR offset) into the characteristics of the various channel estimates and suboptimal BFs compared to ESIP-WSR BF with Linear Minimum Mean Squared Error (LMMSE) channel estimates. Furthermore, simulations validate the superior performance of ESIP-WSR BF compared to the suboptimal BFs with different channel estimates and also the accuracy of the large system approximations derived herein. Our analysis is focused on constant channel estimation regime which is indicative of the finite rate feedback channels and pilot contamination regime.","PeriodicalId":385212,"journal":{"name":"2020 2nd 6G Wireless Summit (6G SUMMIT)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128477335","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this reason, the challenge of providing energy-efficient, reliable, secure, and variable devices with ubiquitous connectivity cannot be addressed by any single Radio Access Technology (RAT) available today. Therefore, the concept of multi-RAT devices in the context of next-generation communication technologies (5G and beyond 5G (B5G)) comes into play. In this paper, we investigate the utility of multi-RAT IoT connectivity in practice with respect to a Smart City scenario, in which the location of public transport vehicles e.g., trams and buses is tracked and reported by a device equipped with two Low-Power Wide-Area Network (LPWAN) technologies i.e., Narrowband IoT (3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP)) and LoRaWAN (non-3GPP). Both technologies got matured and have shown their momentum in the recent years, and are expected to play the key role also in the future. We first detail the constructed multi-RAT prototype and then report the initial results of its evaluation in a pilot deployment in the city of Brno, Czech Republic. The obtained results illustratively confirm the feasibility of joint usage of two diverse LPWAN RATs while their combination brings higher flexibility, reliability, and improve the overall Quality of Service (QoS) to wireless connectivity.","PeriodicalId":385212,"journal":{"name":"2020 2nd 6G Wireless Summit (6G SUMMIT)","volume":"124 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130042638","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
