The regulations that define the Transport of Dangerous Goods, give special emphasis to the mandatory equipment that must be installed (electronic suspension and braking systems) as well as its mandatory control of technical correctness. The efficiency of the braking system as well as the vehicle suspension system significantly affects the length of the stopping distance when moving through populated areas, moving at night or in heavy traffic and is of great importance in relation to the overall traffic safety. Proper technical control of vehicles with built-in electronic systems, includes well-trained workers, quality diagnostic equipment and the necessary awareness of transport participants about the importance of technical correctness of vehicles. All these factors and the impact of correctness of the braking and suspension systems on the vehicle safety are analysed in this paper.
