It is also known that the iterative methods are highly sensitive towards initial guesses. So, the choice of initial guess is also a difficult task with iterative methods. In most such cases, the conventional communication infrastructure such as wired and cellular networks get damaged and therefore cannot provide communication required to exchange emergency information. Therefore, to cope with such disasters in a fast and coordinated way, the optimal provisioning of the emergency information is crucial. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) are the paramount components for such situations. UAVs can act as mobile base stations and facilitate wireless communication to connect to nearest working telephone network access point. A large scale disaster information system can be formed by combining UAV network with existing available network regardless of some of network lines being damaged and destroyed. In this paper, we have designed a prototype of UAV assisted emergency ad hoc network (EANET). We have also evaluated and compared AODV and ZRP routing protocols by varying the number of UAV assisted EANET nodes in different transmission range cases of disaster scenarios. The experimental results illustrate that ZRP is the most appropriate protocol for emergency situations.","PeriodicalId":382417,"journal":{"name":"2017 7th International Conference on Communication Systems and Network Technologies (CSNT)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121112764","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Distributed Coordination Function (DCF) is a contention-based MAC method which allows to mutually share the common wireless channel. DCF backoff algorithm regulates the size of CW range upon successful transmissions and collisions. Due to wireless medium characteristics and node mobility, estimating pertinent CW range is a very crucial task. This paper proposes Sliding DCF Backoff Algorithm (SDBA) that predicts current medium status using Backoff Success Ratio (BSR). According to this, SDBA slides both CW lower and upper boundaries. To investigate the behavior and capability of the proposed SDBA, extensive NS2 simulations are carried out with varying mobility speed under random topology. It is perceived from the simulation results that the proposed algorithm attains better throughput and significantly reduces collisions, routing control overhead and energy consumption, thereby extending network lifetime.","PeriodicalId":382417,"journal":{"name":"2017 7th International Conference on Communication Systems and Network Technologies (CSNT)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116487155","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To solve this problem we propose a novel and efficient face recognition method which is invariant to slight variation in pose, illumination and background. Proposed method uses discrete cosine transform (DCT) and gray-level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) for the extraction of both visual features and texture features respectively. The Proposed method helps in removing some high frequency details and thus reduce the size of images. These visual features and texture features are fused to form the hybrid feature leading to improve the feature space and nearest neighbor classifier is used for the classification purpose. The proposed method shows better result on variation of background and pose and it also reduces recognition time greatly. This method improves the efficiency and performance of existing method.","PeriodicalId":382417,"journal":{"name":"2017 7th International Conference on Communication Systems and Network Technologies (CSNT)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133647651","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The concept was found to indicate early stages of heart failure leaving ample time to protect the patient from an acute cardiac arrest. A comparative analysis of Activation States and Rest-Task Pair Connectivity of brain is also conducted. Experimental explanations are also provided by recognition process and it opened the scope of not only detecting but also curing dementia by Body Sensor Networking (BSN).
