In the study region the adverse effects of climate change are believed to be a major constraint to uncertain ecosystem. Theses extreme climatic events are likely increase in frequency and magnitude of serious drought periods and extreme floods. For environmental profile, we did vulnerability assessment in ArcGIS software. The spatial approach allowed the analysis of different indicators, providing a platform for data integration as well as a visually powerful overview of the study area.","PeriodicalId":382413,"journal":{"name":"2017 3rd International Conference on Frontiers of Signal Processing (ICFSP)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130818932","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, clinical labels of the structural brain magnetic resonance (MR) images are predicted automatically using the random forests ensemble method. Morphological measurements like volume and thickness that exhibit details of the brain structures are used as input. Structural T1-weighted MR images of the patients with a relevant clinical phenotype are used in this study. Training images are obtained from the 150 patients and the system is tested using the images of the 100 patients. 5-fold cross validation is used for the training, determining the hyperparameters of the random forests and performance evaluation. Accuracy, the area under receiver operator characteristic curves, specificity and sensitivity are used as the performance metrics of the proposed system. Results obtained from the experiments proved that random forests can be used successfully for the identification of the clinical labels using the structural brain MR images.","PeriodicalId":382413,"journal":{"name":"2017 3rd International Conference on Frontiers of Signal Processing (ICFSP)","volume":"107 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115339399","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Graph theory makes the operations easier for image processing applications, and can represent digital image components completely. In image segmentation processes, the graph theory tools are also used widely. These kinds of image segmentation processes are called graph-based image segmentation. In many image processing applications, it seems as a problem that which color space the color values of pixels should be considered according to and which distance norm should be used to measure the difference between two points in the space. In this work, a graph-based image segmentation algorithm is tested on several color spaces with different distance norms. The test is carried out on 100 real world images that take part in a general-purposed image segmentation dataset. The average segmentation results are given as F-measure in this work with regard to both color spaces and distance norms. The results show that L∗a∗b∗ and L∗u∗v∗ color spaces are more appropriate than RGB color space, in general. The squared Euclidean distance norm gives more accurate results than the Euclidean distance norm, used in the source paper, if the Gaussian smoothing is not used as pre-processing.","PeriodicalId":382413,"journal":{"name":"2017 3rd International Conference on Frontiers of Signal Processing (ICFSP)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132201947","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The two filters are a boolean filter and a fuzzy filter. These filters are applied for improving the diving video analysis aimed to introduce quantitative tools and diving performance measurement and therefore to improve training. The aim of the filter is to identify the athlete in the video to further process the data in order to obtain information as the position of the barycentre and the rotational inertia. The application of the fuzzy logic to the filter is aimed to reduce the errors in identify the athlete when the lightening changes and consequently in the traditional filter it can be excluded.","PeriodicalId":382413,"journal":{"name":"2017 3rd International Conference on Frontiers of Signal Processing (ICFSP)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128249995","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, allowing the machine to identify and understand emotional states is one of the primordial stages for affective interactivity with Humans. Recent studies have proved that physiological signals contribute to recognize the emotion. In this paper, we aim to classify the affective states into two defined classes in arousal-valence model using peripheral physiological signals. For this aim, we explored the recent multimodal MAHNOB-HCI database that contains the bodily responses of 24 participants to 20 affective videos. After preprocessing the data and extracting features, we classified the emotion using the Support Vector Machine (SVM). The classification stage was implemented on Raspberry Pi III model B using Python platform. The obtained results are encouraging compared to recent related works.","PeriodicalId":382413,"journal":{"name":"2017 3rd International Conference on Frontiers of Signal Processing (ICFSP)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114631732","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The design parameters of the filter implementation are strongly bound to the overall performance of the communication system. In this paper, we focus on a design analysis of the filter taking into account the filter band attenuation, the oversampling symbol interpolation, the roll-off factor, the span truncation and the fixed-point quantization of the coefficients to draw an outline strategy of the filter implementation and to show the design performance bounds as function of design parameters. To verify the design limits of the filter a MATLAB numerical investigation is presented, showing the main results. Finally, results of the synthesis on a xc7a15t Xilinx Artix-7 FPGA of a polyphase implementation of the filter were presented.","PeriodicalId":382413,"journal":{"name":"2017 3rd International Conference on Frontiers of Signal Processing (ICFSP)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129923642","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Currently available software packages are focused first on the use of the specified template (pattern) for coagulate location. Effects of the pattern application are caused by irregular coagulate location by reason of high variability in edema and vasculature forms. The paper presents algorithms for calculating a coagulate map within the framework of the solution of the sphere close-packing problem in a random region and research results for developed algorithms.","PeriodicalId":382413,"journal":{"name":"2017 3rd International Conference on Frontiers of Signal Processing (ICFSP)","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125107725","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
