Yet the use of dynamic structural forms reflecting the inherent or at least implied danger of a falling tree can create a mountaintop restaurant that is welcoming, informative and above all a worthy destination. The older buildings are typically neglected, in need of renovation, especially the more palatial examples. The damaged roof on this building has been restored to its former splendour using contemporary construction methods, and a new \"guest\" floor slab, steel roof framing and improved living standards. Like a retaining wall or fortification: it resists the clutter of the hillside. It was as if gravity had attracted him to the bay of the plot — and with it the loose-textured block. —The composition of the longitudinal wing and a bastion-like element bisects the volume of the building.
