Findings provide information in terms of who shares contents about parenting and children online, what is shared and where (in terms of platforms used), when , as in life phases during which sharenting takes place, why , as in the rationale behind it, and finally how , in terms of parents’ decision-making , governance and privacy strategies about whether and how to share of their parenting and children online. Future directions are finally discussed.","PeriodicalId":38025,"journal":{"name":"Italian Sociological Review","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49611404","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Firstly, we highlight the main insights and contributions of Maurice Halbwachs’ theory of collective memory and, secondly, we draw the further developments by the Memory Studies. We point out some conceptual issues within these works regarding memory’s ontological status. Finally, we suggest a new avenue of interpretation for the phenomenon of memory from a sociological standpoint by (i) considering Cognitive Sciences contributions on the definition of “memory” and (ii) devising a proper social ontology for this kind of definition.","PeriodicalId":38025,"journal":{"name":"Italian Sociological Review","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47771208","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There have been many attempts to recognize, categorize and analyse this type of goods, that are, by definition, other than State and Market. In the urban context, there are many experiences that show how the citizens, in order to reclaim abandoned and/or disused public spaces and places, act informal practices as a response to collective requests that try to resist and contain processes of commodification of space (Lefebvre, 1976). Starting from these reflections, the article engages with the debate on the practices of re-appropriation of urban commons put into action by the local community. Preferring an ethnographic research approach, the article presents the results of a case study concerned the building of Santa Maria della Fede “Liberata”. An abandoned public building, located in the historic area of Naples, at the center of a commoning and liberation process.","PeriodicalId":38025,"journal":{"name":"Italian Sociological Review","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46344457","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our study aims to measure the connection between health behaviour and academic achievement. We mapped the different student clusters and their characteristics, furthermore, we compared the Hungarian and international trends regarding perceived health based on HBSC 2014 (N=2732). Regarding our results, the 9th and 11th-grade students can be categorized into four groups concerning health-risk behaviour and self-esteem entitled deviant, phlegm, balanced and stressful groups. The educational level of the parents and gender had a significant influence. Significant territorial differences could be found, indicating the better mental health of students learning in West Transdanubia and the lower efficacy of those learning in Central and North Hungary. Concerning the international comparison, the ratio of students with lower self-rated health is higher among Hungarian students. The significant health-behavioural clusters and their territorial distribution highlights the huge differences in the Hungarian and international comparison. The results indicate to improve the health-awareness and academic achievement of the students, especially in the disadvantaged regions.","PeriodicalId":38025,"journal":{"name":"Italian Sociological Review","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43634787","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The above were investigated using relative quantitative information culled from an online questionnaire from 420 Italian church parishes. An analysis of the data revealed the particular contribution of Italian parishes in favouring the construction of a community at both the local and symbolic levels, communities where interpersonal and digital relationships play a crucial role even if via different modes and styles.","PeriodicalId":38025,"journal":{"name":"Italian Sociological Review","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45976374","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We focus our analysis on the dynamics that regard the field of Tattoo Convention as an alternative cultural heterotopia (St. John, 2011), giving particular attention to the tension between the desire for community and belonging - which shapes the bio-sociability (Ortega, 2004; Ferreira, 2009) in the space of the convention - and the pursuit of a unique and exclusive body-project. We see broader dynamics of conflict - between inclusion and exclusion, “cool” and mainstream, standardisation and artistry - resonating with this tension. Within this frame, corporal dimensions such as the pain take on the intensification of the biographical meanings (Le Breton, 2002) for individuals and liturgical element for the community.","PeriodicalId":38025,"journal":{"name":"Italian Sociological Review","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44928112","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In particular, they have led to the appearance of robots in the domestic sphere. One type of robot – namely, the social robot – has been endowed with a very human aesthetic and is designed to interact with humans, and it is increasingly being used to perform “human tasks”. Social robots have also been introduced into the social services, providing companionship and assistive services for children, the infirm and the elderly. Such usage has rightly attracted the interest of the social sciences, fuelling the debate about the acceptance of social robots by their end-users. In this paper, regression analysis is applied to data from the Eurobarometer survey to investigate how socio-demographic features and self-confidence on technological development influence European citizens’ attitudes towards robots in the social services. The results show that men, with a high level of education, living in a big city and with experience of robot use have more positive attitudes towards the concept of robots for assistive services. This study emphasizes the need to consider the relation between attitudes towards social robots and their use to avoid the generation of social inequalities.","PeriodicalId":38025,"journal":{"name":"Italian Sociological Review","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45318467","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A questionnaire was used and distributed to a random sample of 425 students at the university. The findings showed that the most common and highest ranking stereotypical sentiments among university students were: “women represent the family’s honor”, “women are not fit for physical work”, “Women are meant to remain home, and that their primary role in life is doing house chores”. These stereotypes are associated with the socio-cultural perception of the female body; which further contribute to the discriminatory stance against women. Furthermore, the findings reveal that university youth still perceive women as fragile creatures, unfit for leadership, and thus they are inferior to males; which renders them notionally unworthy of the right to independence and personal freedom. These prejudiced attitudes reflect the notion of custodianship applied by the whip of conventional culture in conservative societies over the body, movement, and personal freedom of the woman; hence depriving her from some civil and political rights.","PeriodicalId":38025,"journal":{"name":"Italian Sociological Review","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45473361","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
