In this paper, common flocculants are summarized. According to the treatment\u0000process of crude oil, flocculants are divided into organic flocculants, inorganic\u0000flocculants, microbial flocculants, composite flocculants, and magnetic flocculants. The\u0000mechanism and limitation of each flocculation on crude oil sludge were analyzed. Tao","doi":"10.2174/2405520414666210531113732","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.2174/2405520414666210531113732","url":null,"abstract":"\u0000\u0000Nanocarbon hybrids have become an increasing interest in recent years because of their important role in energy storage and conversion device fabrication. \u0000\u0000\u0000\u0000The objective of this study is the preparation of low-cost graphene/N-doped carbon composites (G-NC) for supercapacitor applications. \u0000\u0000\u0000\u0000G-NC samples were prepared with a two-step hydrothermal method and characterized with field emission scanning electron microscopy, 77K nitrogen adsorption and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The electrochemical performance of samples was investigated with cyclic voltammetry and charge-discharge measurements in three-electrode configurations.\u0000\u0000\u0000\u0000Samples showed a sheet-type morphology and nanoporous structures. A 22 factorial\u0000design was applied by taking the above two parameters as independent variables and vesicular\u0000size and entrapment efficiency as dependent variables. The phytosomes were also\u0000evaluated for polydispersity index, zeta potential and in vitro drug release. The optimized\u0000phytosomes of CTE were further developed into a gel, the optimized gel was also\u0000evaluated, and the stability studies were conducted.\u0000\u0000\u0000\u0000The optimized CTE phytosome showed a vesicular size of ~\u0000124 nm and entrapment efficiency of 95%. The CTE phytosomes showed a drug release\u0000of 58.79% in 24 hours following the Higuchi order of release. The CTE phytosomes\u0000were formulated into a gel by using 1% Carbopol 934 and were evaluated for pH, viscosity\u0000and homogeneity. The formulated gel showed better penetration than conventional\u0000gel, and stability changes indicated no major changes to the CTE phytosomal gel.\u0000\u0000\u0000\u0000The optimized gel had better penetration and drug release than the conventional\u0000gel. This process involves a reversible\u0000reaction between sorbent Calcium Oxide and Carbon Dioxide. Because sorbent loses its\u0000activity after multiple cycles, hydration step was proposed, which is another reversible\u0000reaction where deactivated sorbent is treated with steam to form Ca(OH)2, which undergoes\u0000the backward reaction to give back the regenerated sorbent. Blamey et al. (2016)\u0000developed a shrinking core model based on which, studies were carried out on a small\u0000experimental reactor. This paper aims at developing a hybrid model by combining first\u0000principles model and an ANN model for improved prediction of the conversion in hydration\u0000of calcium looping process and to scale it up for optimal operations. The hybrid\u0000model is tested for various combinations of training variables and data sets with respect to\u0000temperature and cycle number and it is found that the hybrid model indeed gives better\u0000results. Tao","doi":"10.2174/240552041401201224092653","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.2174/240552041401201224092653","url":null,"abstract":"The Conference on Structural Nonlinear Dynamics and Diagnosis (CSNDD 2012) is held in Marrakech, Morocco, and is organized by the Laboratory of Mechanics, Group of Nonlinear Dynamics of the Hassan II University of Casablanca, in the framework of the scientific activities of the Moroccan Association of Vibration and Acoustic. The International Conference on Structural Nonlinear Dynamics and Diagnosis intends to be a meeting place for scientists from different branches of applied mechanics and mathematics working in nonlinear dynamics, structural systems, diagnosis and control can meet to discuss the latest achievements and to exchange ideas in theoretical, numerical and experimental techniques for solving problems in nonlinear dynamics, diagnosis and control. Focuses are directed toward diverse topics, ranging from dynamical systems theory to different engineering applications. This first CSNDD 2012 aims at covering a large field of nonlinear dynamics, including structural health monitoring, diagnosis and damage detection, fast slow dynamics, multi-scale dynamics, advances on nonlinear PDEs and their dynamics, experimental methods, active vibration control and smart structures, identification of nonlinear systems, vibro-impact dynamic, and nonlinear dynamics in MEMS / NEMS and nanotechnology. The Moroccan Association of Vibration and Acoustic would like to make this meeting a tradition and sets a goal of organizing the event every two or three years in Morocco and in the nearby countries. It is a great privilege for the nonlinear dynamic Moroccan community, in general, and the Casablanca research group, in particular, to host the CSNDD 2012 conference in Marrakech, as the first international conference in nonlinear dynamics organized in Morocco. The first CSNDD 2012 has amply accomplished this goal. The event has attracted a representative international scientific community in nonlinear dynamics, diagnosis and control. More than 200 papers from 28 countries were submitted, most of them being invited, and nearly 160 were accepted for presentation and 67 were accepted for publication in MATEC Web of Conferences. Thirteen Mini-symposia including fifteen oral and two poster sessions were organized by leading experts in the field, who contributed to attract top-quality scientists. All submissions were reviewed. I would like to thank the Keynote lecturers, the invited speakers, all MS organizers, reviewers and other volunteers for their help in maintaining high standards of the Conference Technical Program.
