It plays an inevitable role in day-today life and in modernizing the human society. Throughout the evolution of cellular networks, many standards have come into existence, in order to meet the growing demand of ubiquitous, high quality voice, data and multimedia services. Besides, next generation cellular networks are in the necessity to offer seamless services even at the cell-edges and indoor provinces where the requirement for the cellular services is never the less. Though there is a growing demand for higher data rate services every day, the conventional macrocell (MC) is unable to provide better coverage extension to cell-edge users. To handle indoor and outdoor traffic growth, the recent heterogeneous network has emerged with an answer in the form of smallcell technology. A study on femtocell (FC) network along with its challenges is elaborated in this paper. We concentrate on revealing the importance of femtocells and its evolution phases. As well, the technical challenges faced in femtocell network are detailed to this end.","PeriodicalId":378798,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Conference on System, Computation, Automation and Networking (ICSCA)","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117116577","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to achieve that, voltage profile should be maintained within safe limits. Due to load changes, maintaining a constant voltage profile is difficult. In order to improve the security, reliability and voltage profile, placement of shunt capacitor in different places of the distribution system becomes essential. These shunt capacitive compensators improve the load carrying capability of the system by controlling the reactive power flow. Installation of shunt capacitors in distribution networks requires consideration on the appropriate location and VAr rating of these capacitors. In this paper, the advanced version of harmony search algorithm called Improved Harmony Search algorithm (IHS) is used to determine the bus location and VAr rating of the capacitor. The capability of IHS to search the optimal bus location and VAr rating is tested on 33 bus radial distribution system. The results shows that there is a nearly 32% of loss reduction in system with promising voltage profile.","PeriodicalId":378798,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Conference on System, Computation, Automation and Networking (ICSCA)","volume":"81 10","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120807396","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The complete study includes the comparison of traditional topology with new improved hybrid D-STATCOM topology. The D-STATCOM model has been simulated in MATLAB Simulink. The series capacitor along with LCL filter is used to minimize the size of passive component that eventually reduces the voltage rating to the front end of the VSI. The values of the LCL filter have been selected considering the power losses in the damping resistor. The reduction in the power loss in the damping resistor reduces the power rating of the VSI. This will reduce the DC-link voltage and voltage across the shunt capacitor of the LCL filter.The results are validated by analyzing the reduction in power rating of DSTATCOM. The source current, PCC voltage, filter current is compared for all the topologies and best alternative has been presented comparing the size of filter inductor, reduction in the damping power loss, and current compensation. The compensation performance of LCL filter is analyzed by analyzing the harmonic ripples and percentage of total harmonic distortion.","PeriodicalId":378798,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Conference on System, Computation, Automation and Networking (ICSCA)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126152588","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In case the system operating constraints are violated beyond the AVR setting limits, there arise the low frequency electro mechanical oscillations. The sustained oscillations of increasing amplitude may lead the system to oscillatory instability mode and eventual breakdown. Conventional mathematical procedures for the evaluation of stability limits are in effective during the rapidly changing loading applications. A wider range damping operator with lower time constant is always preferred for such cases. In this paper a basic oscillations controller is proposed using time response analysis for a simple system. A simulation study of the system is performed and results have been tabulated. An integrated derivative and integral mechanism with nominal operating time constants were considered for this work. The work can be extended for multi machine system where a band of frequencies to be managed. A relative study between the real time data obtained from the ABB, showed that the developed model in this paper works closer to the actual working conditions.","PeriodicalId":378798,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Conference on System, Computation, Automation and Networking (ICSCA)","volume":"77 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125000739","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Solar energy is one of the nature base energy among renewable energy which is utilized by the photovoltaic effect. Bangladesh has huge opportunity to utilize solar energy to meet the future energy demand as well as help to reduce the environmentally harmful material which actually produced by fuel base power plant. However, to utilize solar base power plant require vast amount of land area which is not possible for overpopulated country like Bangladesh. Bangladesh has 3790.861km national highway, 4206.121km regional highway as well as 13121.757 km district road. In addition, open space of the roads is available. By converting these roads into solar highway by vertically installed bifacial solar module will be open new door for power generation in the Bangladesh. The whole research work of implementing solar highway will give a detail idea like the concept of vertical installation of bifacial solar panel, solar panel efficiency etc. The power generation based on these thoughts are optimized by theoretical and simulation data analysis. So it is vital time to utilize bifacial PV based solar highway with latter concept.","PeriodicalId":378798,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Conference on System, Computation, Automation and Networking (ICSCA)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127356591","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is to the most useful for the parents. If during the gestation, they could predict their child’s talents and disorders, it could help them cultivate their child’s skills, not just protecting their child from any possible threat but also to cure the existing ones. The idea of profiling a child before its birth i.e., pre-gestation and during gestation, to identify some key factors like intelligence quotient, immunity, vulnerability to diseases etc., and giving the parent a proper insight to act accordingly. This can be done with the help of the data gathered from the parents, their child (during gestation) etc., by applying machine learning algorithms like classification on the gathered data.
