The research was carried out using two different methods, field and numerical, respectively. The purpose of the study is to check whether there is a change in the elastic properties of the tire during its depreciation and to what extent these processes affect the comfort of driving and riding. The experimental tests were conducted on a hydraulic test stand and by applying strength and deformation analysis the effect of its structure deformation was additionally considered. The investigation performed on a vehicle-based tire test stand to find out stress-strain and tire deformation was with different vertical loading according to FEM. The numerical solution was reached by implementing SolidWorks - Simulation and Abaqus. The obtained results are graphically compared, and the average value of the elastic constant for a new and depreciated tire has been determined.","PeriodicalId":37871,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Mechanics and Engineering","volume":"115 21","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138959102","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In a worm gearbox, as the material of a worm wheel is softer than that of a worm screw, the worm wheel gear is vulnerable to failure through various modes like pitting, wearing out, or tooth breakage during the sliding process. Due to this, it is essential to monitor the failure of the worm wheel gear of the worm gearbox, and it has gained importance for the diagnosis of faults in gearboxes. The present work focuses on the investigation of the effect of worm wheel tooth breakage, worm wheel bearing outer race, and varying load on vibration signature amplitude and frequency domain statistical features such as root mean square (RMS), crest factor, kurtosis, mean, peak to peak, skewness, sample variance, and standard deviation. The experimental setup is fabricated to conduct the experimental trials. An OR34 FFT analyzer with NVGate software is used to acquire the frequency domain vibration signature. Experimental results show that captured vibration signature amplitude for healthy worm wheel and bearing increased as fault occurred on the worm wheel, and bearing and frequency domain statistical features value changed with the change in fault location in the worm gearbox.","PeriodicalId":37871,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Mechanics and Engineering","volume":"6 19","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138959860","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We derived analytically, the dynamical equations for the rotating grooved and impedance boundary of the non-homogeneous fibre-reinforced solid under the influence of magnetic fields and mechanical force. Harmonic solution method of wave analysis is utilized. This is such that the component of displacements and stresses are developed and studied after employing dimensionless parameters in the equations of motion. Numerical computations are presented in graphical form by using Mathematica Software for a particular chosen material. We observed that the combined grooved, magnetic fields, impedance boundary etc. physical parameters, have remarkable effects on the material. A decrease in horizontal impedance yielded maximum amplitudes of displacements and stresses of the waves on the fibre-reinforced medium. The mechanical force and rotation of the medium induced increased behaviors to the amplitudes of displacement and stress components of the wave on the solid medium. Thus, this work should be of great importance in studies involving seismology and seismic Mechatronics solution for stress-wave generation in non-homogeneous materials.","PeriodicalId":37871,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Mechanics and Engineering","volume":" 32","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138962168","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the aid of Laplace transformation method, the governing energy and momentum equations are converted from partial differential equation (PDE) into ordinary differential equation (ODE) to obtain fluid temperature and velocity in Laplace domain. The semi-analytical solutions of the velocity profile and temperature distribution have been derived using the Riemann sum approximation. After which a MATLAB program was written to study the effects of Prandlt number Pr, Hartmann number Ha, electric field strength on x and z directions (Ex and Sz) and Grashof number Gr in fluid velocity, temperature, skin-friction and mass flow rate in terms of line graphs. Result shows the role of suction/injection parameter alters the temperature distribution and velocity profile, so also how effective the governing parameters contribute to the flow formation. .","PeriodicalId":37871,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Mechanics and Engineering","volume":" 42","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138962367","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We clarify how the ferromagnetic interaction parameter, B and porosity,ε assumptions contribute in the bio-background of the problem of interest. Moreover, from the results of the flow profiles, accelerating and decelerating phenomena are noticed for B, and ε interaction.","PeriodicalId":37871,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Mechanics and Engineering","volume":" 29","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138961667","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Yadav, Aarti Singh, Paweł Jurczak","doi":"10.59441/ijame/172631","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.59441/ijame/172631","url":null,"abstract":"The objective of the paper is to look at the propagation and reflection of plane waves in a thermo-diffusion isotropic medium. The reflection of plane waves in a thermo-diffusion medium was investigated in this study with reference to triple phase lag thermo-elasticity. The memory dependent derivative (MDD) is applied for this investigation. The fundamental equations are framed and solved for a particular plane. The four plane waves that are propagating across the medium are, shown namely: longitudinal displacement, P-wave, thermal diffusion T-wave, mass diffusion MD-wave and shear vertical SV-wave. These four plane wave velocities are listed for a specific medium, illustrating the impact of the diffusion coefficient and are graphically represented. Expressions for the reflection coefficient for the incidence plane wave are produced from research on the reflection of plane waves from the stress-free surface. It should be noted that these ratios are graphically represented and shown when diffusion and memory dependent derivative (MDD) factors are in play. The new model is relevant to many different fields, including semiconductors, earth- engineering, and electronics, among others, where thermo-diffusion elasticity is significant. Diffusion is a technique that can be applied to the production of integrated circuits, MOS transistors, doped polysilicon gates for the base and emitter in transistors, as well as for efficient oil extraction from oil reserves. Wave propagation in a thermos-diffusion elastic media provides crucial information about the presence of fresh and enhanced waves in a variety of technical and geophysical contexts. For experimental seismologists, developers of new materials, and researchers, this model might be useful in revising earthquake estimates.","PeriodicalId":37871,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Mechanics and Engineering","volume":" 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138959848","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This was accomplished by conducting an analytic calculation of work roll mechanism influence, constructing a work roll wear model, and combining the wear mechanism with actual wear data. The resulting model is applicable to both symmetric and asymmetric wear of the work roll, and experimental results showed that the relative error between measured and predicted values was less than 5%, with a maximum error of below 15%. This level of accuracy is sufficient for predicting roll wear and lays the foundation for improved strip shape control and roll design. Furthermore, this approach has the potential to generate significant economic benefits and has wide-ranging applications.","PeriodicalId":37871,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Mechanics and Engineering","volume":" 805","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138960406","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The power transmissions and motors often use low-friction hard coatings to prevent wear and reduce friction. The Cr-doped graphite-like carbon method is employed for evaluating coating friction and responses to chromium-doped graphite-like carbon (Cr-GLC) under lubrication. Cr-GLC coatings and chromium-doped diamond-like carbon (Cr-DLC) coatings are arranged using physical vapor deposition (PVD) and plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD), respectively. The results have demonstrated in comparison to the dry friction coefficient, the friction coefficient under lubrication conditions has been reduced by 40%. Due to its excellent frictional physicochemical properties and compact microstructure, Cr-DLC has an optimum tribological resistance that is significantly higher than that of Cr-GLC. Viscosity, corrosivity, and coating microstructure are used to measure the impact of composite elements. The most ideal characteristics of the Cr-GLC coating are attributed to the non-reaction of additives in oil with friction surfaces.","PeriodicalId":37871,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Mechanics and Engineering","volume":" 7","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138960007","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Laplace transformation tactics is utilized to solve the governing equations for concentration, energy, and momentum. The simulation results demonstrate that the chemical reaction parameter dwindles both primary and secondary velocities. It has been noted that an upsurge in heat generation (heat source) enhances the temperature field, while a decrease in heat absorption (heat sink) leads to a reduction in the temperature field. Furthermore, the radiation parameter causes a drop in both temperature and velocity patterns. The equation for skin friction is derived and presented graphically, and 3-dimensional surface plots are provided to depict the Nusselt number and Sherwood number. Additionally, graphical illustrations are employed to showcase the influence of various non-dimensional variables on concentration, temperature, and velocity patterns.","PeriodicalId":37871,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Mechanics and Engineering","volume":" 27","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138962067","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
