The CQKF, which has been developed in house, uses third order spherical cubature and higher order Gauss quadrature rule to solve the intractable integrals encountered in Bayesian framework of filtering. The CQKF is the generalized form of well established cubature Kalman filter (CKF) and under certain simplification, the CQKF reduces to the CKF. The performance of the CQKF has been compared with the CKF, and the unscented Kalman filter (UKF) for a maneuvering target tracking problem. The simulation results exhibit the improvement of performance with the CQKF compared to the CKF and the UKF.","PeriodicalId":378414,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Smart Sensors and Application (ICSSA)","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124569936","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

More researches in this field have revealed that the lack of problem-solving skills, which is considered as one of the prominent shortcomings that novices deal with, is exacerbated by language syntax that the novices employ. A Flowchart-based Intelligent Tutoring System (FITS) is proposed in this research aimed at introducing the early stages of learning programming (CS1) to put the record straight. The students who have no prior knowledge of programming are the target audience of this research. In order to support novice programmers in beginning of programming, Bayesian network approach is applied mainly for decision making and to handle uncertainties in knowledge level of students. How to use Bayesian network to take full advantage of it as an inference engine for providing users with various guidance is described in this paper. Therefore, our proposed system provides users with dynamic guidance such as recommend learning goals, recommend options for flowchart development, and generate appropriate reading sequences. Additionally, our proposed system's architecture and its components are elaborated. Our future work is to evaluate the FITS by conducting an experimental study using novices.","PeriodicalId":378414,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Smart Sensors and Application (ICSSA)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131778441","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Speed and cadence were measured in an indoor (i.e., in a laboratory) environment. The values measured by the proposed wireless system were compared with those of the SRM system. The measured speed and cadence values were significantly corresponded with the 96% limit of agreement relative to speed and cadence generated from the SRM. Statistical analysis results show that speed and cadence can be accurately measured and transmitted using ZigBee in addition to using ANT+. Moreover, cost, size, and power consumption were reduced by minimizing sensor nodes to a single node based on the natural relation between speed and cadence from the considered mathematical equations.","PeriodicalId":378414,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Smart Sensors and Application (ICSSA)","volume":"118 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121198840","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study a system that able to produce variable intensity using microcontroller, solid state and dimmable LED light has been proposed. Two experiments were conducted with i) combined Red / Blue/White (RBW) LEDs of ratio 16:4:2 as light source for 12 hours photoperiod treatment ii) Red/Blue/Far Red (RBFR) LEDs of ratio 16:4:16 as light source for 12 hours photoperiod treatment. The finding from the experiment has shown that variable intensity method has proven to reduce overall power consumption, increase mortality of the plant by introducing hardening process and significantly RF treatment has shown to delay the flowering process. Our analysis shows that the system allowed the finding of a new method on optimization of plant growth using LED light with variable intensity and shows significant difference on flowering respond using FR treatment. The pi-stacking interaction between carbon-based hexagonal structure of graphene with carbon-based ring biomolecules such as single-stranded DNA is the key factor behind this efficiency. Graphene layers added to a conventional copper SPR biosensor causes a drastic sensitivity enhancement. In comparison to conventional SPR sensors this produces a larger change in the refractive index at the metal-dielectric interface. The light reflection coupled into a SPR mode propagating along a copper-graphene layer is calculated and compared to a conventional SPR sensor. The proposed SPR sensor could then not only be applied for highly sensitive but also for cheap DNA-biosensor.","PeriodicalId":378414,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Smart Sensors and Application (ICSSA)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114710943","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Wireless sensor network is an emerging, cost effective and unsupervised solution for collecting this information from the physical world and sending this information back to centralized authority for further processing. Reliable data gathering and delivery is always a challenging task due to dynamic, unattended and unpredictable behavior of wireless sensor network and its broadcast nature of communication. To protect sensor network from routing attacks in the presence of malicious nodes is always a challenge. In this paper, we propose a trust aware distance vector routing protocol (T-AODV) to protect wireless sensor network from wormhole attacks. Through experimental results, our propose approach proved the network efficiency in terms of improved packet delivery ratio, end-to-end delay and number of node to the destination.","PeriodicalId":378414,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Smart Sensors and Application (ICSSA)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121385372","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we have examined four physiological conditions for instance sitting, standing, laying and jogging. Ten healthy volunteers were recruited and segregated by five males and females each group. The acquisition of PPG signal was done by Easy Pulse analyzer sensor module for one minute sample for each condition considering consolidated state prior to sample extraction, which uses pulse oximetry principle and pass the sensed signal by the optical sensor through a sequential high and low pass filters which latterly produces a conditioned PPG signal at its output. The Arduino processing module was used as an interfacing module between easy pulse analyzer and computing machine. The Kubios HRV tool was implicated for execution and manipulation of the PPG data into a required format. The time and frequency domain parameters were analyzed for PPG signal in different physiological conditions. Ultimately, the reports were created depending upon the analysis. The results defines that the PPG signal as well as RR varies depending upon the physiological conditions. It was also keenly observed that the low and high frequencies which is ingredient of PPG signal also vary accordingly to physiological condition.","PeriodicalId":378414,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Smart Sensors and Application (ICSSA)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128755591","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
