Instead of evaluating all target variables simultaneously (phase currents, voltages on the flying capacitors and midpoint voltage on the DC bus), the method uses the line voltage redundancy and the phase redundancy in a separate way and exploits their effects over each group of target variables. This scheme reduces the number of calculations when compared to the FCS-MPC with a multi-termed cost function. The method does not need for weighting factors and thus removes the need to tune the controller.","PeriodicalId":377110,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 24th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125016056","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the converter is used a small additional inductor operating in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) which allows zero current switching (ZCS), reducing circuit losses. Moreover, the LED current can be stabilized through the switching frequency as a function of input voltage only. Thus, the converter does not need current sensors, allowing cost reduction. The prototype assembled in laboratory was designed for a lamp of 54 W, operating in a frequency of approximately 153 kHz and presented an efficiency of 93%.","PeriodicalId":377110,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 24th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE)","volume":"103 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115866563","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Within the More Electric Aircraft this possibility must be carefully considered in order to ensure safe and stable operation of the electrical systems. This paper assesses various strategies for the management of regenerated power in the More Electric Aircraft. A range of options are considered and the advantages/disadvantages of each are discussed. This includes considerations of safety and stability but also weight, component minimization, cost and potential utilization of the regenerated energy. Key aspects which are investigated in this paper are the effect of increased DC bus voltage on the management of regenerated energy and an assessment of the feasibility of returning energy to the engine inertia. It is shown that increased DC link voltage has distinct advantages when employed in combination with current architectures. However if a fundamental change to system architecture is utilized then this brings very significant benefits.","PeriodicalId":377110,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 24th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117301696","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These coefficients are used to realize the analysis of a wind turbine, depending on the type of turbine, which is used. The coefficients of power and torque establish the relationship between wind power and power obtained in the turbine. In the review were found various models, the goal of this paper is to classify to find a general model, however, due to the characteristics of the models found, the models were classified into three general groups. Each group was classified according to their mathematical expression, which was exponential, sinusoidal and polynomial. The exponential and sinusoidal models include variations in relation to the specific speed and the pitch angle; and the polynomial models only depend on the specific speed. The models consider the real characteristics of wind turbines. The purpose of this review is to establish mathematical models of power coefficient and torque coefficient, in order to evaluate different models of wind turbines on the emulator.","PeriodicalId":377110,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 24th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128581607","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the problems is how to make the technology adept and useful to human's usual life, and don't let human change his/her habit, especially these people who aren't familiar with new technology. The authors design a system concept that focuses on user's life rhythm, which support user based on his life style. Moreover, because the system depends on user information, it is also possible to offer a user-friendly interface that doesn't make user to spend a lot of time to learn the operation way. In our previous research, an activity system for human's daily life has been presented. However, before the system is in service, it has to wait until collect enough user information. In this paper, the authors apply previous research and the new system design concept to develop a human support system. The basic data of user's information are collected using questionnaires. Data mining are applied to analyze these data for building the basic life style information of user. The concept of user model is also contained for the system. The overall system concept and some experiment results will also be shown.","PeriodicalId":377110,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 24th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128473449","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we focus on Gravity-Center Fluctuation (GCF) of the sole, and analyze the gait motion using Self-Organizing Map (SOM). First, it is clear that the shape of the GCF that is obtained by developed measurement system includes the feature of the gait motion. Secondly, the relation between the shape of GCF and the gait motion is considered by the SOM. Next, we described that the stride width and the walking velocity are predicted. Finally, it is investigated that the position where new test data is arranged on the map is according to prediction. As a consequence, it is shown that the gait motion is able to be analyzed and estimated by the method based on the SOM.","PeriodicalId":377110,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 24th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128145319","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This converter is one of the direct AC/AC power converters suitable for medium-voltage high-power machine drives with regenerative capacity. One of the main feature of this converter is that does not need external dc-voltage supplies and thus, all capacitor voltages have to be regulated to the desired value. Therefore, this paper provides a cost function that considers error terms related to the output current and capacitor voltages. Moreover, a compensation input current is presented in order to improve the dynamics response of the capacitor voltage average value. Simulation results illustrate that the proposed algorithm is capable to achieving good performance, even in critical operation point of the M3C.","PeriodicalId":377110,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 24th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128421122","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed converter is composed by two power stages: an ac-dc converter that is used to interface the power grid and the dc-link, and a dc-dc converter that is used to interface the dc-link and the batteries. The ac-dc converter is an interleaved bridgeless bidirectional boost-type converter and the dc-dc converter is a bidirectional buck-boost-type converter. The proposed converter works with sinusoidal grid current and with high power factor for all operating power levels, and in both grid-to-vehicle (G2V) and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) operation modes. In the paper is described in detail the proposed converter for EV battery chargers: the circuit topology, the principle of operation, the power control theory, and the current control strategy. Several simulation results for both G2V and V2G operation modes are presented.","PeriodicalId":377110,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 24th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE)","volume":"75 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127288014","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This evolving computing paradigm offers great level of convenience to information access and usage. Nevertheless, the convenience comes with a price in the form of exposing user private information to potential abuse and misuse. This paper proposes a novel idea to protect user private information in a location-based services continuous nearest neighbor query with a focus on moving query and static object. Most proposed solutions for privacy use third party anonymizer, or offer protection only for snapshot query, however most queries are continuous. In this proposal we combine Voronoi tessellation and Hilbert curve order with R-tree index of geometric data storage to provide transition points that indicate where nearest neighbor changes. With a database arranged as a square matrix of size n bits, we execute double private information retrieval protocol in the server to return exact nearest neighbor point of interest throughout the query segment with minimal cost, and without revealing any user private information. Our experimental evaluation of the transmission cost using ns-3 simulator and the complexity analysis show a system capable of being scaled to different population size with minimal performance impact and with improvement on the complexity over related technique.","PeriodicalId":377110,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 24th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE)","volume":"2016 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127386467","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
