{"title":"The Effects on the Red Meats Prices of Feed Price: The Case of Turkey","authors":"Orhan Çoban, Özer Coşkun","doi":"10.17758/eares7.eap0819422","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.17758/eares7.eap0819422","url":null,"abstract":" Abstract - In this study, using Granger causality test and ARDL bounds testing method, we analyzed the price transmission mechanism between wholesale and retail red meat prices and the impact of some variables on red meat prices in Turkey. In the analysis, the prices of wholesale beef, retail beef prices, fattening feed, milk feed, wholesale milk, corn, retail chicken prices and exchange rate data were used. According to the results of the analysis, two-way causality relationship between wholesale and retail meat prices was observed. According to the ARDL short-term models, the retail price impact factor of the wholesale prices was 0.44 and the retail prices' wholesale price-affecting coefficient was 0.45. Therefore, these prices affect each other equally in the short term. According to the ARDL long-term models, the retail price impact factor for wholesale prices was 0.54, while the wholesale price of retail prices was estimated to be 0.87. In summary, there is a bi-directional interaction between wholesale beef prices and retail beef prices. Retail prices are more likely to influence wholesale prices. Therefore, there is an asymmetric price mechanism between wholesale and retail meat prices. This indicates the existence of incomplete competition conditions in the meat market.","PeriodicalId":375942,"journal":{"name":"E2HS3-19, IASEH-19 & MABES-19 Aug. 5-7, 2019 Milan (Italy)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128212458","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to ensure the protection and respect of human rights with strict adherence to the international standards, several international instruments have been developed. They have attempted to inculcate the good governance by establishing the obligations for the member states to stick to its grounds and develop the national entities to assure accountability and transparency on its rectification to national level. The paper have analyzed all such instruments and actions of international community to integrate the concept of good governance and legal pluralism in human rights.","PeriodicalId":375942,"journal":{"name":"E2HS3-19, IASEH-19 & MABES-19 Aug. 5-7, 2019 Milan (Italy)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115834619","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of them is borehole breakouts to estimate both orientation and magnitudes, carried out in drill holes; they are formed by induced stress exceeding compressive strength of rock around borehole wall. In this paper, estimation of in-situ horizontal stress magnitudes from borehole breakout geometries was studied in terms of depth of breakouts measured from center of borehole. The borehole cross sections were mimicked in FLAC numerical modelling software to establish a relation between ratio of breakout depth to borehole radius and stress magnitudes for given maximum horizontal stress. Then, these were compared with the field data for the back-analysis of numerical solutions. The purpose is obtaining an empirical equation of maximum horizontal stress in terms of breakout depth, borehole radius, compressive strength and minimum horizontal stress for the field studied.
