In order to find the geometrical meanings of results in the theory obtained in use of the extensor analysis, one should make clear the relation between the geome tries in the space of higher order and in the original point space. By this reason, it seems to be desirable that the geometrical theory stated in words of the extensor analysis in the space of higher order is an extension of that of tensor analysis in the original point space and the part corresponding to tensor member of the former just coincides with the latter, so as an extensor introduced by H. V. Craig [1] 1) is an ex tension of a tensor and the components of the extensor include the tensor member as a part. As the first step, in the previous paper [2], the present author obtained already the extended connection parameters in the above-mentioned sense, in the case that either the original point space is a space with a symmetric affine connec tion or a Riemannian space. It is the purpose of the present paper to establish the theory of non-holonomic systems and subspaces in the space of higher order based upon a point space with a non-holonomic system ăi'i, at the same standpoint. In the present paper, the ideas, notations and results given in the previous papers ([2] [5]) will be used without explanation. The present author wishes to ex press to Prof. A. Kawaguchi her appreciation for his helpful guidance.","PeriodicalId":374819,"journal":{"name":"Japanese journal of mathematics :transactions and abstracts","volume":"93 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126222970","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The converse is also true.\" Now, in 1924 H. W. Brinkmann studied Riemann spaces conformal to one or more Einstein spaces. On account of our theorem, it is evident that his researches and ours are in a close relation to each other. Brink mann's researches are purely analytical and there are no geometrical considerations in them. On the contrary, in the paper cited above I have remarked that some of his theorems are deducible from our fundamental theorem by elementary-geometrical reasonings without any calculation. Brinkmann [2] studied further Einstein spaces conformal to another Einstein space and determined canonical forms of their line-elements. From our standpoint of view, his results can be obtained also by study ing Cn whose group Hn fixes two or more hyperspheres (including point hyperspheres). Owing to these circumstances, restricting the spaces as positive definite, I will study the structure of C,z whose group Hn fixes two hyperspheres (Including point hyperspheres) by purely geometrical methods and deduce Brinkmann's results. I think we can recognise the structure of the spaces intuitively only by such geometrical considera tions and it is possible to make further considerations. Besides new methods of studying the structure of Einstein spaces conformal to another Einstein space, the reader will find some new theorems in the following lines.","PeriodicalId":374819,"journal":{"name":"Japanese journal of mathematics :transactions and abstracts","volume":"68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131829672","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
