This analysis seeks to enhance understanding about the significance of this emotional skill within the Moroccan banking sector.Design/methodology/approachThe research embraces an interpretivist philosophical perspective to gain insight into the subjective meanings and experiences of study participants. The methodology employed is qualitative, involving data collected from semi-structured interviews conducted with 21 front-office bank employees. The analysis of the data was conducted through employing thematic analysis.FindingsThe findings of this study conclude that emotional intelligence fosters and stimulates customer orientation for bank employees. The perception, understanding and effective management of emotions – both those of the contact personnel and their customers – enable employees to better comprehend customer reactions. They experience heightened empathy through the impact of accumulated professional experience, adapt their behaviors according to the emotional state of the customer, maintain a positive relationship with them and ultimately gain their confidence.Originality/valueThis study offers clear theoretical explanations and conceptualizations that have identified and linked pertinent literature on the topic. It focuses on a salient subject, investigating how emotional intelligence influences the customer-oriented behavior of front-office bank employees. Notably, this study represents one of the first attempts to explore this relationship within the Moroccan context. As a result, it contributes to the enhancement of managerial practices and human resource policies, thereby fostering a more productive and harmonious working environment.","PeriodicalId":373871,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Trade Science","volume":" 605","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141364148","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The primary objective is to analyze the roles of GHRM, green behavior (GBH) and green commitment (GCM) in relation to SCP, as well as identify the mediating roles of green behavior and green commitment in the relationship between GHRM and SCP.Design/methodology/approachThe research design employs a quantitative approach to investigate the nexus of GHRM and SCP, with a focus on the manufacturing sector in Ho Chi Minh City. Methodologically, the study integrates the ability-motivation-opportunity (AMO) and resource-based view (RBV) frameworks to construct a comprehensive theoretical model. Data are gathered from a sample comprising 322 senior managers and directors representing various enterprises. Analysis is conducted utilizing Smart PLS software version 3.3.7, employing partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) to assess both first-level and second-level variables in a two-step process.FindingsThe empirical findings underscore significant relationships between GHRM, green behavior, green commitment and SCP. Specifically, the study reveals that GHRM positively influences green behavior, green commitment and SCP. Additionally, both green behavior and green commitment exhibit positive effects on SCP. Furthermore, the research confirms the pivotal mediating roles of green behavior and green commitment in the relationship between GHRM and SCP.Originality/valueIn terms of originality and value, this study makes notable contributions to both theoretical understanding and practical implications in the field of sustainable business management. By delving into the intricate interplay between GHRM, green behavior, green commitment and SCP, this research extends existing knowledge and offers novel insights. It examines how entertainment, information and interaction values affect attitudes toward food videos and vloggers. Additionally, it investigates the potential for product placement by studying the effects of attitudes toward food videos and vloggers on consumers’ behavioral intention regarding purchasing featured food ingredients.Design/methodology/approachAn integrated model informed by theories (uses and gratification and stimulus-organism-response) was developed. An online survey was administered to 339 Vietnamese social media users. The data were analyzed using partial least square structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM).FindingsThe results show that food videos’ entertainment and information value positively impact the attitude toward food videos. However, the interaction value does not have a significant impact. All three values (entertainment value, information value and interaction) impact the attitude toward food vloggers. Both attitudes significantly influence purchase intention, showing that there is a pathway to product placement. The frequency of social media use can moderate these relationships, with a negative effect on the attitude toward food videos and a positive effect on the attitude toward food vloggers.Originality/valueThese findings provide insights into vlogger success pathways, not only in terms of audience reception but also in terms of product placement. This study offers comprehensive suggestions on pathways for success that are interesting for vloggers, food business operators, restaurant managers and audiences on how to design effective food videos and potentially encourage consumer purchases. These pathways can also be valuable for other behaviors, such as food safety advice and food waste reduction.","PeriodicalId":373871,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Trade Science","volume":"27 22","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140966541","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While the work of human resources ((HR) professionals may not directly generate revenue or profits for a business, their role is of utmost importance as they manage an organization's most valuable asset - its human capital. When HR employees work with high job performance, a profound passion for their work, and a strong commitment to fulfilling their roles, they contribute to the creation of enduring value and the sustained long-term growth of the enterprise. With the desire to contribute both theoretically and practically to the understanding of job engagement and employee performance, this research employs a model with 351 samples to explore the influence of job engagement on HR employee performance. The research results indicate that job engagement, through two mediating variables, job satisfaction, and innovative work behavior, significantly impacts the performance of HR employees, particularly Job engagement through the mediating variable of innovative work behavior, which has a significantly positive impact on employee HR performance. Leveraging these research findings, businesses can proactively develop suitable HR strategies, especially investing in and promoting innovative work behavior to enhance job engagement and, consequently, increase the performance of HR employees.","PeriodicalId":373871,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Trade Science","volume":"2 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139609168","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
