It was launched in 2000. The power system of Tsinghua-1 Micro-satellite is one of the most important subsystems. It provides all power for satellite platform and payloads from the mission's beginning to the end. We designed the regulation, protection and distribution of 4/spl times/35 W solar array power and the energy of 7 Ah NiCd batteries. This subsystem essentially offers two buses: unregulated 14 V and regulated 5 V. All distributed power lines to the users are protected by current tripping switches. In addition some essential loads, such as the Telecommand System, are supplied through fuses. Tsinghua-1 Microsatellite power system provides an efficient, flexible, reliable and cost-effective solution for small satellites in low Earth orbit. A better maximum power point tracking has been used to increase reliability margins and increase the efficiency of the power system. Undertaking several kinds of test, such as power board test, AIT (assemble integrate test), EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) test and TVT (thermal vacuum test), the power system worked very well.","PeriodicalId":373820,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings IPEMC 2000. To show the validity of theoretical analysis, a 5 HP DFIM prototype system and PWM power converter are built. This new method has been named the extension pq method. The authors have experimented with the extension pq method and the pq method using the same current controlled intelligent power module inverter for both methods. With a simplified second-order system model for the motion control systems, they illustrate the backstepping design step-by-step. Backstepping is a novel and practical nonlinear design tool, which is based on constructing a Lyapunov function for the closed-loop systems and guarantees the stability and tracking performance through the Lyapunov energy dissipation. Although the simplified second-order model for the motion control systems is linear, the nonlinear control design approach generate aggressive control effort to reduce the tracking error present in the motion control systems, which significantly improves the system bandwidth. Each 60/spl deg/ period of the inverter operation with no overlap consist of three successive modes, viz., charging transfer, and single flow mode. The induction motor is modeled as a series equivalent circuit per phase but the analysis and design of a current source inverter with induction motor has been effected by a state plane method. The SMES unit was built for a grid model, and a 12-pulse IGBT current source converter was used as the power interface between AC network and the energy-stored coil. Control algorithms were developed to implement the performances such as fluctuating load compensation and uninterrupted power supply (UPS). Through analyses of the features of conventional RCD snubber circuit and three kinds of low-loss snubber circuit, the snubber circuit for the 4500 V/4000 A GTOs in a 20 MVA STATCOM installation is proposed. The snubber circuit is the low-loss /spl Delta/-type snubber circuit with a clamping capacitor. Such control techniques are increasingly drawing interest because of the simplicity of its structure, elimination of the current controllers and hence their inherent delays and the elimination of the rotor position sensor. The latter advantage is perhaps the main impetus for considering this new approach of control.
