Pillar recovery using new wireless blasting technology: a case study in Vazante mine, Brazil 采用新型无线爆破技术回收矿柱:以巴西Vazante矿为例

However, this has changed with the launch of WebGenTM wireless blasting system, which allowed underground mines to exploit their orebody applying methods previously not possible due to limitations imposed by the use of wired detonators. The wireless blasting system is based on magnetic induction communication, and its signal is capable of overcoming hundreds of meters through rock, water, and air, to reach individual primers in the blastholes without any physical connection.A noble application of wireless detonators is being used in Vazante mine, Brazil, an underground zinc mine where ore pillars are left in the mined stope to secure stability and minimize dilution by limiting the hydraulic radius. The recovery of these pillars is financially desirable but involves extra time and costs associated with scaling, backfilling, reinstalling infrastructure, accessing areas previously blasted (less stable), drilling, charging with explosives, and subsequently, firing and mucking out the blasted material with expected high dilution. Applying 100% wireless detonators made it possible to safely preload the pillar together with production blasts before losing access to the area, a method named Temporary Rib Pillar (TRP). After all the stope is mined and the pillar accomplished its objectives, the primers are initiated without neither the need for the extra cycles described previously, nor the need to re-enter the area. La energía restante se disipa en efectos no deseados como onda aérea, proyecciones y vibraciones, que pueden causar daños a estructuras cercanas, desprendimientos, etc. La intensidad de las vibraciones depende de una serie de factores controlables y no controlables. Los primeros están relacionados con parámetros geométricos, de la tronadura y del explosivo. Los factores no controlables se refieren a los parámetros naturales sobre los que no se puede actuar, como propiedades geológicas y mecánicas de la roca. Con el objetivo de predecir de manera fiable los niveles de vibración, existen modelos predictivos que consideran los factores más influyentes. Estos modelos convencionales tienen carácter empírico y han sido desarrollados por medio de numerosas pruebas de campo. Por esta razón, existe la necesidad de construir cientos de kilómetros de túneles y galerías, para llegar a las frentes de trabajo donde se extrae el mineral. En Chile, los túneles mineros se construyen según una metodología de excavación convencional, con el uso de perforación y tronadura. siguiendo el ciclo minero. La eficiencia global del ciclo minero depende de varios factores, pero uno de los más relevantes es la eficiencia de la tronadura. En el presente artículo se incluye una discusión teórica que fundamenta la importancia del confinamiento del explosivo en los tiros y los efectos en la eficiencia de la tronadura de un adecuado diseño y fabricación de los Tacos Retenedores. Finalmente, se presentan los resultados preliminares de pruebas industriales realizadas con los Tacos Retenedores de Alto Rendimiento TN en frentes de desarrollo horizontal en minas de Argentina y en la División El Teniente de Codelco. A partir del uso de datos geofísicos de potencial magnético y gravimétrico se determinaron las unidades y estructuras geológicas que se encuentran bajo la cobertura en la Pampa Caya. Utilizando filtros Pasa-Baja, Pasa-Alta y primeras derivadas verticales del Vector Residual del Campo Magnético y Anomalía de Bouguer, se logró interpretar anomalías geofísicas que indican una continuidad de las formaciones y estructuras ocultas bajo la pampa. Con estos resultados fue posible correlacionar la continuidad de las formaciones Collahuasi, Quehuita y Cerro Empexa, fallas inversas locales y establecer la continuidad latitudinal del Sistema de Falla de Domeyko. Dado esto ha cobrado mayor importancia la revisión de metodologías para proyectar el precio del cobre. El objetivo del presente estudio es comparar las proyecciones de las dos metodologías más utilizadas en la industria, realizadas en dos momentos distintos del tiempo, separadas por sólo cinco meses. De este modo lograr entender cada metodología, analizar su sensibilidad y de qué variables dependen la generación de incertidumbre al interior de cada una. The proposal divides the management process into four stages: i) Adequate context diagnostic; ii) How people perceive reality; iii) An action plan; and iv) A focused and goal-oriented organization, where the key is understanding how people learn and interpret the existing reality. Based on these variables, organizations are challenged with developing a capacity to integrate corporate Dynamic Complexity – with “uncertainties” as a key variable – with their environment, both local and global. Wasted rock as an additional filling aggregated was suggested to optimize the gradation composition of aggregate by scholars over the world. In this paper, the effect of waste rock addition, cement-tailing ratio and slurry concentration on strength and flow properties of waste rock cemented backfill were studied. The results indicate the strength of waste rock cemented backfill was significantly higher than that of unclassified tailings cemented backfill under same cement consumption, which the average strength improvements were 2.02MPa, 0.98MPa and 0.46MPa under cement-tailing ratio of 1:4, 1:8 and 1:10. With the increase of waste rock addition, the strength change of waste rock cemented backfill was less obvious, but the flow property (yield stress) of filling slurry was improved. Further analysis of the slurry stability illustrates that, with the increase of waste rock addition, the bleeding rate demonstrated a trend similar to that observed for the flow property, however, in an adverse manner. Overall, the optimal slurry concentration of 80% and waste rock addition of 40%~50% were determined. Based on the strength requirement, cement dosage was selected, which the cement-tailing ratio of top 10m and the bottom 10m was 1:8, the cement-tailing ratio of the centre stope was 1:10. In that respect, Chile is the leading country, although lately Peru, Mexico and Brazil are showing a growing interest in introducing new technologies in their mining operations. Positive aspects of these changes can be seen in continuous improvements of operations and processes, increased in innovation and improvements in safety. However, with few exceptions, the involvement of top management in enabling innovation and rapid technological implementation has often been insufficient. This, however, is changing dramatically as mining companies look towards automatization to maximize productivity and profitability, remove mining personnel from dangerous environments as well as bypass human limitations to meet new challenges, which would allow the humans to make strategic decisions while being supported by the machines and the connected environment. Por otro lado, China se alza como una gran competencia, ya que, sus fundiciones operan con la última tecnología del mercado y con elevados niveles de captación de SO2 y AS. Por esta razón, este trabajo documenta el análisis de alternativas tecnológicas para una nueva FURE de concentrados de cobre en Chile, de categoría mundial, competitiva en costos y con elevados niveles de captación de SO2 y As, superiores a los establecidos en el D28. Para lograr esto, se definieron condiciones de borde y criterios del estudio, se realizó un análisis FODA, metodología AHP, balances de masa y evaluación económica, con lo cual se obtiene que la configuración tecnológica de fusión BBR-BBC-PFE parece ser la mejor alternativa para una nueva FURE de concentrados de cobre en Chile, pero, debido a la escasa información disponible, esta alternativa representa un riesgo respecto a las otras. En el presente estudio se presenta una metodología para el agendamiento de las actividades de la construcción de galerías horizontales para un horizonte de un turno o un día que consiste en plantear el problema como un Job Shop Scheduling (JSP) con tiempos de seteo dependiente de la secuencia y equipos paralelos no relacionados, cuyo agendamiento se resuelve por algoritmos genéticos y búsqueda tabú.
