The analytical relation between discrete model parameters of scattering and distribution laws of received signal magnitude was established in this analysis. It was shown that the probability density function of signal magnitude depends on the scattering technique, in the general case essentially differs from the Rice-Rayleigh distribution. and cannot be written in explicit form. The proposed approach allows us to obtain analytically distribution functions which describe the stochastic features of scattered signal magnitude with good accuracy.","PeriodicalId":372054,"journal":{"name":"14th International Conference on Microwaves, Radar and Wireless Communications. In many situations microwave filters and transformers designed by conventional methods (without discontinuity influence on frequency characteristics taken into account) have not acceptable characteristics. Discrepancy between ideal and measured characteristics increases with frequency because of to large Z/sub max//Z/sub min/ ratio (e.g. d/sub max//d/sub min/ for coaxial line) and large dimensions in comparison to /spl lambda/. Significant improvement of discussed networks parameters can be accomplished by using optimisation procedures and taking adequate discontinuity model into account. As a result we obtain filters and transformers with very well convergent theoretical and measured characteristics.","PeriodicalId":372054,"journal":{"name":"14th International Conference on Microwaves, Radar and Wireless Communications. Development of the GMM procedures makes it possible to realize totally automatic algorithms for a wide set of configurations avoiding a specialized analytical treatment of each new boundary-value problem. Moreover, the background for linking up the interface tools of a circuit geometry specification and editing is provided by the GMM approach together with the special algorithms for recognizing the object configurations and for data preparation. The class of objects that can be calculated by the suggested approach includes any WG circuits with metal boundaries specified in the Cartesian coordinate system or with the smooth boundaries that may be replaced by a staircase surface. The corresponding electromagnetic solvers are closer to the software based on the mesh methods in generality, in the same time saving the high accuracy and computation speed typical for highly specialized mode-matching procedures.","PeriodicalId":372054,"journal":{"name":"14th International Conference on Microwaves, Radar and Wireless Communications. Since its foundation in 1958 the NATO Science Programme has developed support mechanisms like advanced study institutes, collaborative research grants and science fellowships in order to support training of young scientists and engineers, mechanisms that are still in use. Since the early 1990s the NATO Science Programme has been extended to support also scientists from NATO Partner countries. In 1999 the Science Programme was transformed so that support is now devoted to collaboration between scientists of Partner countries and NATO countries. NATO activities in research and technology are stimulated via the Research and Technology Organisation, RTO. In this paper attention is paid to the Science for Peace Sub-Programmes and to other science sub-programmes. We overview the NATO and Partner countries, elucidate some examples of projects under NATO funding, and describe RTO areas.","PeriodicalId":372054,"journal":{"name":"14th International Conference on Microwaves, Radar and Wireless Communications.
