Fractional order integrators have a wide range of applications in automatic control systems, circuit theory, dynamical systems and signal processing. The implementation of fractional order recursive digital integrator requires two steps. In the first step, an integer order digital integrator is designed then in the next step continued fraction expansion (CFE) is used to obtain an efficient fractional order digital integrator which is suitable over the complete Nyquist frequency range. In such cases photovoltaic are preferred as backup for the energy storage devices, which charge these devices onboard. But the low energy conversion efficiency of photovoltaic is much of a concern. Hence every attempt of extracting the maximum output from photovoltaic (PV) is greatly appreciated, especially in military platforms where size and weight of the PV array is constrained. Furthermore the mobility of these platforms adds to the inefficiencies of the array by partial shading and dynamic irradiance. Few methodologies proposed for maximizing the output and increase efficiency includes Maximum Power Point Tracking using Adaptive Resonance Theory (ART2) Artificial Neural Network algorithm and unsupervised learning using improved incremental conductance algorithm, which tracks the maximum power point of the photovoltaic array that fluctuates along with the fluctuations in irradiance of the sun using an efficient neural network. Also determining the angle of sun with the MEMS digital sun sensors and aligning the modules accordingly, increases the input irradiance received by the panel. The techniques for bypassing other sources for inefficiencies like shading effect, thermal effect is also presented. The integration of various modular systems together ensures the effective utilization of the available solar energy hence increasing the efficiency. The active filter compensates both reactive power and harmonic currents drawn by non-linear loads; additionally it facilitates power factor corrections. The compensation process is based on concept of p-q theory. However, in the proposed approach only calculation of real-power (p) losses are conducted. This method is simple and different from conventional methods; it provides effective compensation for harmonics. The cascaded multilevel inverter switching signals are derived from the proposed triangular-sampling current controller that results in a good dynamic performance under both steady state and transient operations. The dc-bus capacitor voltage of the cascaded inverter is controlled and reduced ripple voltage using PI-controller. Distribution networks must be carefully controlled in order to maintain an acceptable power supply quality. In order to meet sustained load demands during varying natural conditions, different renewable energy sources need to be integrated with each other. This paper describes dynamic modeling and simulation results of a renewable energy based hybrid power system on the combination of solar cell and wind turbine systems for power generation. Dynamic modeling of various components of this isolated system is presented. Transient responses of the system to step changes in the load, ambient temperature, radiation, and wind speed in a number of possible situations are studied. The results show that the proposed hybrid power system can tolerate the rapid changes in natural conditions and suppress the effects of these fluctuations on the voltage within the acceptable range. We designed a flexible DSP-controlled three-phase power electronic converter for the integration of distributed energy generation into networks. The further increase of energy conversion from renewable energy sources demands a share of the conventional centralized grid control. This requires a fast and flexible control system. The control is realized with embedded model details of DSC. The system structure, the special problems resulting from the use of a DSP-system and the implementation of the inverter control are described. Schnieder 2nd order rule and Al-alaoui's 2-segment rule[16] are considered for indirect discretization approach and differentiators and integrators of order Î4 and % based on these two rules are presented. The rational transfer functions are first tested for minimum phase and stability then the resultant rational approximations are discretized by using s to z transforms [1]. These discretized transfer functions are checked for stability again after performing approximation process. Simulation resultant curves are drawn with the help of MATLAB for the magnitude responses, absolute magnitude errors and the phase responses of the stabilized discrete transfer functions. PID controller has been implemented on Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), NI-PXI-7833R using LabVIEW software package. For implementation of fuzzy logic based intelligent controller the FPGA is used as real time data acquisition platform and the fuzzy controller is implemented on the host PC. Fuzzy PD and Fuzzy PI + fuzzy PD control have been successfully implemented. The comparative study of performance of intelligent controllers like fuzzy PD and fuzzy PI + fuzzy PD is done with the conventional controller on the basis of amplitude error and the time lag between the plant excitation input and the plant response. In the control algorithm, a fuzzy logic control algorithm is used in the dc voltage controller and ac terminal voltage controller. We present and evaluate an iteration time based adaptive time step scheduling algorithm in an embedded linux 2.6.29.6 based operating system with Xenomai-HAL 2.5.2 (Hardware Abstraction Layer) in order to manage the various tasks. The paper explores methods to improve the accuracy of the application by reducing the integration time step. The accuracy of these systems has always been a point of discussion as they generally give an error of maximum 10% considering all the parameters together. In this paper a system is presented which is developed through a mathematical approach to monitor all the crucial battery parameters and limit the error to not more than 5% for a valve regulated lead acid (VRLA) battery.
