Objectives and requirements for the grid monitoring system have been summarized in this paper. To cope with the dynamic and large-scale nature of the grid, a scalable distributed monitoring system is proposed, which can support easy and rapid deployment of monitoring services in the grid environments. The BitTorrent protocol is adopted to facilitate the distribution and automated deployment of the monitoring system. The deployment of monitoring service for the newly joined node and the update of the deployed components can be initiated by the nodes within the system to reduce the administrator's participation. The maintenance cost and human errors might happen in the deployment process can be reduced. With the help of the peer-to-peer networks, our proposed system can automatically adapt to failures in network connections or nodes. Service capacity of our proposed system is given out. Simulation results show that our proposed system supports efficient and rapid deployment to a large scale grid and provides a robust platform to efficiently monitor the grid resources.","PeriodicalId":370753,"journal":{"name":"The 2nd IEEE Asia-Pacific Service Computing Conference (APSCC 2007)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130580515","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, there are still a number of significant hurdles to prevent it from solving real-world problems efficiently, such as the high false positive and false negative errors. In order to present a more feasible anomaly detection system, we outline multi-agent systems (MAS) to design an artificial immune system inspired by a novel immune theory- danger theory, following an appropriate evaluation tool (DCs) for network packets and a suitable mechanism of communication between agents. We set up two kinds of immune responses logically on both host layer and network layer to the coming intruders for the purpose of mitigating the damage and infection. We hope that this system will eventually become more powerful as a distributed immune system, based on the sound immunological concepts.","PeriodicalId":370753,"journal":{"name":"The 2nd IEEE Asia-Pacific Service Computing Conference (APSCC 2007)","volume":"149 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133610518","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper concentrates upon the use of business modeling in the process of analysis from the point of view of early identification of procedural bottlenecks. It goes on to propose and evaluate a method of configuring information systems that links business modeling with UML. The proposed method builds a business process model from the requirement specifications and translates the model into UML. The proposed method was applied to the prototyping of a bus booking and control system, comparing the results obtained using the proposed method with those using only UML for the configuration. The proposed method proved effective in the early detection and removal of bottlenecks, in coping with changes in the specifications, and in accurate modeling.","PeriodicalId":370753,"journal":{"name":"The 2nd IEEE Asia-Pacific Service Computing Conference (APSCC 2007)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121189628","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An important issue that needs to be dealt with for any generic solution to manage collaborative business transaction is reliability verification. In this paper, a business collaboration model, choreographical business transaction net (CoBTx-Net) is developed for individual business participants to specify and manage the collaboration. Three reliability properties named time-embedded dead marking freeness, inter-organizational dead marking freeness, and collaborative soundness are defined and exploited to verify reliability based on CoBTx-Net.","PeriodicalId":370753,"journal":{"name":"The 2nd IEEE Asia-Pacific Service Computing Conference (APSCC 2007)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115262410","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Ubiquitous questionnaire, i.e., to provide users with E-questionnaire services anytime and anywhere such that one can use E-questionnaire servers without even thinking about them, is an ideal ubiquitous service in service-oriented computing. Until now, there is no E-questionnaire server that is generally accepted and widely used. This paper presents a general-purpose E-questionnaire server we are developing for ubiquitous questionnaire, named 'ENQUETE-BAISE, \" that can be used as a ready-made E-questionnaire server component in various Web service systems as well as an alone E-questionnaire server with general-purpose for various questionnaires. ENQUETE-BAISE can also be used as an E-voting server with general-purpose by restricting its general functions and strengthening its security functions. The paper proposes the notion of ubiquitous questionnaire, presents a requirement analysis for ubiquitous questionnaire servers, introduces in brief persistent computing systems which are indispensable to implementation of ubiquitous questionnaire servers, and presents the architecture and facilities of ENQUETE-BAISE.","PeriodicalId":370753,"journal":{"name":"The 2nd IEEE Asia-Pacific Service Computing Conference (APSCC 2007)","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121881489","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We present a semantic service composition approach that is based on the use of UML activity diagrams as abstract specification language and propose a service selection process that combines both conceptual and instance-level analysis to locate suitable services. Model-driven principles allow to adhere to design requirements that would otherwise be difficult to incorporate informal composition frameworks. Explicit modelling of behaviour in the presence of failures permit to create workflows that are robust in case of service execution errors. This approach may allow to synthesise concrete service orchestrations that are superior to similar approaches purely based on type-based or conceptual matchmaking.","PeriodicalId":370753,"journal":{"name":"The 2nd IEEE Asia-Pacific Service Computing Conference (APSCC 2007)","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124361231","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
