This study aimed to explore the level of knowledge, attitude, and practices related to COVID-19 in persons with disabilities and identify obstacles and facilitators of promoting their knowledge, attitude, and practices. Instrument & Methods A mixed qualitative-quantitative study was conducted on 1067 Persons with disabilities in Iran in 2020. The researchers collected descriptive data using an online researcher-made questionnaire that included demographic and knowledge, attitude, and practices sections which its participants were selected randomly from all Persons with disabilities in Iran. Data were analyzed by SPSS 20 and using the Kruskal–Wallis and one-way ANOVA tests. To identify facilitators and barriers to improving knowledge, attitude, and practices, semi-structured interviews were done with 31 participants who were selected using purposeful sampling. Data were analyzed by content analysis approach. Findings The mean±SD scores of knowledge, attitude, and practice of persons with disabilities were 17.7±0.5, 16.6±0.7, 16.9±0.9, respectively, which were good. One-hundred sixty-one codes were identified, which were categorized into three themes and nine sub-themes. The main facilitators of KAP improvement among study participants were educational content developed during the pandemic and their dissemination using social media, community participation, and the empowerment of PWDs. Weak governance was mentioned as an essential barrier for knowledge, attitude, and practices improvement. Conclusion Further interventions are needed to increase the knowledge and improving attitudes and practice of Persons with disabilities during the crisis. Among them, the following are in priority: strengthening the governance arrangement of rehabilitation;increasing community participation;providing support packages and their fair distribution;empowering Persons with disabilities;preparing infrastructures for telerehabilitation;public awareness and, if needed, informing health workers about the specific needs of persons with disabilities and how to treat them respectfully. The current study aimed to determine the psychometric properties Instrument & Methods This research is a descriptive-cross sectional study to determine the psychometric properties of OCS. The study population included all people of Kermanshah in 2020. Four hundred individuals were included in the study using convenience sampling. The measurements utilized include the online forms of the demographic information questionnaire, Obsession with COVID-19 Scale, The Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale, and The Yale-Brown Obsessive-Compulsive Scale. Data analysis was done using SPSS 21 and Amos 20. The descriptive statistics indicators, confirmatory factor analysis, Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient, and Cronbach’s alpha were applied. Findings The study population consisted of 94 male and 306 female individuals (23.50% and 76.50%, respectively). The mean±SD of the participants’ age was 29.48±9.32. Cronbach’s alpha of the scale was measured to be 0.79. There was a significant convergent validity between Obsession with COVID-19 Scale with The Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale, and Yale-Brown Obsessive-Compulsive Scale (p<0.001). Also, the single-factor model of the scale had strong fitness indexes. Conclusion The obsession with the COVID-19 scale has high and acceptable validity and reliability in the general population of Kermanshah. This study aimed to investigate the factors that led to the hospital admission of COVID-19 patients in the intensive care unit of selected Iranian Navy military hospitals. Instrument & Methods In this descriptive study, 367 COVID-19 patients were examined in two hospitals in Tehran and Rasht from March to May 2020. The researchers developed a checklist to collect data from variables related to COVID-19 patient ICU admission. Data were analyzed using the Chi-square, t-test, and logistic regression by SPSS 23. Findings This analysis included 121 women (33%) and 246 males (67%). The findings revealed that age, cough, diastolic blood pressure, and blood oxygen percentage of COVID-19 patients were associated with ICU hospitalization and that age and cough were used as predictors of ICU hospitalization. Conclusion The findings suggest that age may affect COVID-19 disease. Cough, hypoxia, and diastolic blood pressure appear to be clinical signs that will affect hospitalization in the intensive care unit and should be evaluated with good effort and frequency in patients with COVID-19. This study aimed to investigate the preparedness and resilience of hospitals in the South of Kerman province, Iran. Instrument & Methods This descriptive study was conducted on 77 members of the Crisis Committee in 7 hospitals in the south of Kerman province that was covered by Jiroft University of Medical Sciences from April 2020 to Mar 2021. The data collection tool was standard preparedness and resilience questionnaires. Data were analyzed by Pearson correlation coefficient and Chi-square using SPSS 25 software. Findings The most and lowest frequency of preparedness related to identifying and managing patients and facility communications by 54.9% and 1.2%. Overall, 43% of the preparedness was complete, 52% progressed, and 3% were not yet started. Also, the mean scores of resilience were 194.37±41.40, which was higher than average. The rate of the “Key vulnerabilities” component (70.47±16.68) in the resilience was higher than the other components. Finally, the Pearson correlation coefficient indicated no relation between preparedness and resilience (p>0.05). Conclusion Although hospital resilience was moderate, the hospital readiness was at a low level;thus, we should improve the health system to help to improve the continuing education program, psychological support, and planning and decision making to control the crisis of the covid-19 epidemic. This study aimed to investigate depression, Internet addiction, and domestic violence during COVID-19 home quarantine in Iranian married women. Instrument & Methods This descriptive study was carried out on 200 married women in 2021 who used social networks. The sample was selected by a nonrandomized sampling method. Data were collected by the Depression Scale of the Epidemiological Research Center, the standard questionnaire for measuring violence against women by Haj Yahya, and the Kaplan Internet Problematic Scale via Google Form and on the Nini website and social media websites of Instagram and Telegram. Data were analyzed by SPSS 23 software using T and Wilcoxon tests. Findings The results showed a significant difference in depression, internet addiction, and domestic violence before and after the quarantine (p>0.05), and the variables increased. Conclusion Given the effects of the COVID-19 disease on depression, Internet addiction, and domestic violence during quarantine, it is suggested that authorities reduce the effects of quarantine on people’s lives by designing proper programs. In this study, a new case related to COVID-19 induced tinnitus was reported. Patient & Methods The patient was 27 years old with a chief complaint of a sudden transient change in her chronic vascular tinnitus (loud pulsatile tinnitus) repeated several times a day during the illness period. Because the other symptoms were similar to those of COVID-19, she was referred for a PCR test. Findings The PCR test for Covid19 was positive. Audiology examinations revealed intact tympanic membrane and normal hearing levels. Impedance audiometry and acoustic reflexes were standard. Tinnitus evaluations confirmed a change of tinnitus quality to higher pitch tinnitus with a louder loudness. HRCT scan did not show lung involvement. Conclusion In our case, tinnitus change is possibly due to a change in the blood flow caused by vasculitis, a confirmed manifestation of viral infectious including Coronavirus. Patients with sudden audio-vestibular symptoms should be further evaluated for the COVID-19 rule out. More detailed investigations are required to determine the involved mechanisms.
