This paper proposes a social sensing enhanced real-time bus service that integrates sensing ability and social networks to better understand and measure social events that influence vehicle velocity. The establishment of the real-time service revolves around the PT service quality attributions PEAs and the road condition attributions PRCAs. The processes that collect bus relevant events and further categorize them into PEA events or PRCA events were proposed respectively. A method of scoring PEAs for travelers according to social events was discussed. An artificial neural network based prediction model was proposed to estimate the bus arrival time by analyzing PRCA events.","PeriodicalId":368828,"journal":{"name":"2013 Ninth International Conference on Semantics, Knowledge and Grids","volume":"98 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123448332","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper proposes the cloud resource evaluation model based on entropy optimization (EOEM) to solve the uncertain problem. The evaluation results also can be used to develop resource management strategies, which will be sufficient for saving energy. Particularly, the proposed model may release long-term unavailable resources to reduce energy consumption. With the entropy increasing minimum principle, the proposed model takes the objective function of resource providers and user as constraints of maximum entropy function, thus it can balance profits of both cloud resource providers and cloud users. Meanwhile, the system utilization can be maximized and the resources satisfying QoS can be screened. For demonstrating their performance we evaluate the proposed model by simulation experiment. Simulation results reveal the positive effect of the entropy optimization to satisfaction degree of users and completion time of task. The model also shows better adaptability when cloud resources join or quit the cloud.","PeriodicalId":368828,"journal":{"name":"2013 Ninth International Conference on Semantics, Knowledge and Grids","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133115550","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However traditional visual words are orderless without information with regard to co-occurrences of them as well as their spatial distributions. Spatial pyramid matching provides an effective way to preserve partly spatial information within images, but ignores geometric relations between visual words. By means of quadrant division, this paper proposed a novel methodology called quadtree-based Semantic Link Network(qt-SLN) to represent images in the form of semantic network to keep the structural and topological information of an image. The task of image classification then becomes one of classifying graphs which can be implemented with graph kernels defined on different structured data. In addition, co-occurrences of visual words are also modeled using Pointwise Mutual Information(PMI), which is exploited as a substitution matrix in approximate graph matching after normalization. The experimental results show that incorporating structural relations and co-occurrences of visual words allows for a more semantical framework of classification task.","PeriodicalId":368828,"journal":{"name":"2013 Ninth International Conference on Semantics, Knowledge and Grids","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115957639","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the key research problems in behavioral targeting is how to group users into segments with similar interests or backgrounds. In this paper, we propose a web page-oriented and keywords-based approach to address this problem. Our approach includes two key components: keyword similarity measurement and keyword similarity based user segmentation. These two components serve as plugins and can be replaced with better algorithms or measurements, making our approach very flexible. We have implemented the first key component, and provide preliminary results to illustrate the effectiveness of this component in finding similar news pages based on their keywords.","PeriodicalId":368828,"journal":{"name":"2013 Ninth International Conference on Semantics, Knowledge and Grids","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121580779","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Ontology mappings are often obtained by using a matching tool. Ontology merging is the creation of a new ontology from at least two source ontologies. In Ontology merging, establishing map-pings between source ontologies is the primitive step. Ontology matching tools can be used for establishing mappings, but different matching tools often give dissimilar ontology mappings. Human intervention may not solve the problem because distinct perspectives and understandings also lead to different mappings. Attempts to face the problems have been studied in the literature. All these attempts focus on finding erroneous mappings and finding one consensual mapping. In this paper, we suggest that under some conditions, mappings can be combined to get benefits from each of them. Mappings satisfying those conditions are name compatible mappings, we argue that the conditions mentioned above are based on Galois connections. Opposed to compatible mappings, incompatible mappings cannot be combined because their combination results in erroneous mappings. We discussed our method in the context of ontology merging.","PeriodicalId":368828,"journal":{"name":"2013 Ninth International Conference on Semantics, Knowledge and Grids","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123425306","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Existing work on knowledge propagation in D3L is just studied for simple cases, in which only two DDL systems are considered. By using the compositional consistency theory, D3L makes the knowledge propagate along bridge rule chains as we expect. Compared with D3L, compositional consistency theory supported D3L overcomes the insufficiency of the D3L. In this paper, we present a reasoning algorithm which provides a more reasonable logic foundation for information integration of semantic web.","PeriodicalId":368828,"journal":{"name":"2013 Ninth International Conference on Semantics, Knowledge and Grids","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132500187","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This model provides a virtualized pool of storage resources and can be accessed via Application Programming Interface (API) and/or simply a browser. Object storage is used to store the persistent data from various users through put/get methods and it also store the virtual machine images as objects. Cloud storage services are used by enterprises, home users and researchers to store their files that vary in size and formats. With the huge amount of stored data which is mostly unstructured, comes the related issue of finding the exact data relevant to the requirements of a user. In current offerings such as Amazon, Eucalyptus and Google, the contents or objects are defined by a key-value pair. These objects can be listed based on the key, but searching and finding contents with any other parameters (metadata) such as type, size, owner, time stamps etc., is not supported. In this paper we propose a metadata model that address the issue of collecting, adding, and storing metadata associated with objects in Eucalyptus Cloud. Furthermore, the stored metadata is utilized to provide the feature of fast, effective and efficient searching of contents in a Cloud.","PeriodicalId":368828,"journal":{"name":"2013 Ninth International Conference on Semantics, Knowledge and Grids","volume":"206 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133878043","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper we propose an approach to find a mapping method from metal materials database to an ontology. The proposed method refers to the latest W3C standard DM and R2RML. The goal of the mapping system is to transform Relational Database (RDB) to the Resource Description Framework (RDF). R2RML mapping documents (TTL files) are used to record and organize mapping results manually selected by users. An algorithm which simulates the R2RML processor is designed to process the TTL files so as to finally generate RDF. An experimental prototype is developed to implement the algorithm and demonstrate our approach.","PeriodicalId":368828,"journal":{"name":"2013 Ninth International Conference on Semantics, Knowledge and Grids","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132166177","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The method is efficient and precise, however, because of the adopted classical K-means algorithm, it cannot deal with weibo corpus with increasing size. In this paper, a modified version is presented to eliminate the limitation by incorporating incremental clustering mechanism. Based on the weibo characteristics, a new similarity measure is introduced, which takes into considerations the relevance of the recently identified unknown words. With this measure, the categories evolution is reasonably carried out in the process of incremental clustering to ensure the balance between the consistency and timeliness of the method. Experiments show that unknown words and topics can be effectively detected and tracked.","PeriodicalId":368828,"journal":{"name":"2013 Ninth International Conference on Semantics, Knowledge and Grids","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126514979","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The recall in concept based search is relatively low. That low recall comes from the fact that it is not easy to represent a concept completely.
