This paper describes a model-driven methodology for automatic testbed reconfiguration which solves the problems of manual interaction and inter-testbed scenario reutilization. It is based in a high-level testbed-independent model of the desired scenario (so it can be applied to any testbed in general) which is particularized to testbed-specific scenario models for automatic deployment and management by model-based tools. In fact, monitor capacity dimensioning is not a trivial activity since network state changes rather frequently, in particular, in academic environments. In this paper, we describe estimation algorithms and the software architecture of an efficient network management suite to automatically mine path capacity and minimum delays from a venture point to a set of observed web servers. The principle of the suite is based on packet dispersion techniques and repetitive non-intrusive measurements. Nevertheless, technological and operational differences between these two types of networks result in substantial challenges in the management of cellular/WLAN integration. In this paper, we focus on charging methods for cellular/WLAN integration. We introduce a novel pricing model that takes application characteristics, user profiles and network congestion status into account to dynamically adjust the charging rates of cellular and WLAN services. Based on this model, we develop incentive engineering mechanism that encourages the use of the appropriate networks for specific applications based on the service priority and the current network congestion status. The proposed mechanism dynamically optimizes the charging rate by adapting to changes in networks' and users' behaviors. A good traffic model should have the ability to capture prominent traffic characteristics, such as long-range dependence (LRD), self-similarity and heavy-tailed distributions. In this paper, we propose a non-linear time series model, generalized autoregressive conditional heteroskedasticity (GARCH), with innovation process generalized to the class of heavy-tailed distributions. Our model is fitted on real data and our results confirms the goodness of fit of our model. We then evaluate a forecasting scheme based on our model. Comparative study with other generic models shows that our model have a better prediction accuracy. In next-generation home gateways, more services will be available (pay-per-view TV, games...) and different actors will provide them. When one service fails, it will be impossible to reboot the gateway without disturbing the other services. We propose a management framework that monitors remote gateways. The framework tests response times for various management activities on the gateway, and provides reference time/performance ratios. The values can be used to establish a management schedule that balances the rate at which queries can be performed with the resulting load that the query will induce locally on the gateway. The paradigm being used to project IT to the enterprise and its clients, partners and suppliers is the \"IT Service\". The tutorial examines IT Service Management (ITSM) in its various aspects. The complete lifecycle of a service is covered, including service strategy, service design, service transition, service operation and continual service improvement. Best practices for service management are examined with the help of the very popular IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework in its latest version (v3). Service providers are increasingly focusing on aligning IT services with business goals and, to that end, Business-Driven IT Management (BDIM) is currently in the initial stages of formalization and product offerings. The second part of the tutorial maps the state-of-the-art in this rapidly emerging field. The tutorial will cover definitions of BDIM, challenges posed by IT-business alignment and will provide concrete application examples as well as a description of current BDIM tools available. The tutorial provides a mix of practical aspects, recent research results and descriptions of real tools concerning ITSM and BDIM. The attendee will understand and appreciate the terms ITSM, ITIL, IT governance, COBIT, and will gain familiarity with important IT processes dealing with service design, service transition and service operation. Claudio Bartolini is a senior researcher at the HP Laboratories in Palo Alto, USA. His background is on architecture and design of software systems and frameworks. His current research interest is in methodologies for business and IT alignment. He holds a M.Sc. degree in electronic engineering and computer science from the University of Bologna, Italy. He has published over twenty papers on international journals, conferences and workshop, and contributed to book chapters. He is a co-author of the W3C WSCL specification. He holds a number of patents in various countries. He is a frequent speaker at conferences, and chaired a number of conferences and workshops. He is a consultant in several technology fields, with special emphasis in Computer Networks and Business-Driven IT Management. He was Vice-President of Development for Light-Infocon for several years. He is currently professor in the Computer Science at the Federal University of Campina Grande, Brazil, where his efforts are concentrated in the areas of advanced architectures for Information Systems and IT Management. The P2P approach for IPTV has the appealing feature of providing TV-like quality content distribution service (for both on-demand and live TV), which has been attracting a large number of users from across the globe. However, there is very little understanding about their network architecture and resource consumption. This work aims at having an in-depth understanding of Joost, a video-on-demand P2P system for distributing TV content, created by Skype and Kazaa founders. Results show that Joost relies on UDP for content delivery with an asymmetric bandwidth consumption of until 750 Kbps (download) and 480 Kbps (upload). We also evaluated the Joost control plane, which is mainly based on TCP.
