Objective: To identify women’s perceptions of the care provided by nurses specialized in maternal and obstetric health nursing nurses specialized in maternal and obstetric health nursing during water birth from the perspective of Jean Watson’s nursing theory. Methodology : Empirical, qualitative, and interpretative research with 24 Portuguese women who had a water birth in hospitals or at home. Data were analyzed using Bardin’s content analysis method. Results: Five categories emerged from the narratives: welcoming environment; women in control during labor; trusting relationship; expectations fulfilled; and the partner as part of the process. Conclusion: The Clinical Caritas Process was perceived in the narratives through respect and affection during care delivery to develop a relationship and promote cooperation, leading to inner healing through this care process. Participants’ perceptions of the care received during their water birth revealed a safe, intimate, respectful, welcoming, and favorable environment, without unnecessary interventions and supported by the partner.","PeriodicalId":36785,"journal":{"name":"Revista de Enfermagem Referencia","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46665536","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Identifying priority areas for intervention related to the promotion of healthy lifestyles is an urgent challenge. Objective : To explore the perspectives of family members and experts on priority areas for intervention related to the promotion of healthy lifestyles in early childhood. Methodology : Qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive study, using focus group sessions. Seven experts from the health, social, education, and media areas and three family members of young children participated in the study. Semi-structured interviews were conducted, and Bardin’s content analysis technique was used. Results : Two major priority areas emerged: determinants of diet and determinants of movement (physical activity, sedentary behavior, and sleep). Conclusion : The determinants of diet and movement are priority areas for intervention. The in-volvement of caregivers (e.g., parents, early childhood educators) is essential to promoting healthy lifestyles.","PeriodicalId":36785,"journal":{"name":"Revista de Enfermagem Referencia","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44744535","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Objective: To understand the situations of individual, social, and programmatic vulnerabilities expe- rienced by family members during the hospitalization of their chronically ill children. Methodology: This is a qualitative research study using thematic analysis and conducted with ten family members of hospitalized chronically ill children. Data were collected between June and August 2018 through simple observation, semi-structured interviews, and a field diary. Results: This study identified family members’ caregiver burden as the individual vulnerability, family members’ accommodations as the social vulnerability, and the geographic distance between families’ homes and the hospital as the programmatic vulnerability. Health care services and health profession-als’ care delivery were identified as conditions minimizing vulnerabilities. Conclusion: Understanding the situations of vulnerability experienced by families allows implement-ing more inclusive and efficient care strategies to expand access to health services and professionals, respond to families’ needs, encourage family participation, and create support networks.","PeriodicalId":36785,"journal":{"name":"Revista de Enfermagem Referencia","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"66231632","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Objectives: To explore nursing students’ perceptions of the JC as a pedagogical strategy in Clinical Teaching. Methodology: Descriptive and exploratory study with a mixed-methods approach to data analysis. The sample consisted of 55 students. The questionnaire was designed and made available online. Results: Students made a positive assessment of this teaching-learning strategy. As main advantages, they identified the possibility of bringing clinical practice closer to scientific evidence and developing critical appraisal skills. One of the disadvantages was the requirement of search skills. Conclusion: The JC proved to be a rewarding and promising strategy because it adapts to the various challenges of nurses’ training, namely the translation of scientific evidence into clinical practice, the development of search skills, and the synthesis of evidence.","PeriodicalId":36785,"journal":{"name":"Revista de Enfermagem Referencia","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49287928","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Main topics under analysis: A descriptive-reflective study was conducted using the criteria for analyzing utility and describing the structural components of the self-care deficit nursing theory. The description of the structural components involved the analysis of concepts (abstract-concrete dimension, degree of generality, and variable/non-variable dimension), assumptions (explicit or implicit), and propositions (existence, explanation/relational, reversible, deterministic, stochastic, sequential, coexisting, sufficient, conditional/contingent, necessary, or substitutable).
