Task scheduling is the key optical grid research. List scheduling is one of the most common heuristic algorithms and the temporal and spatial mapping of a program to a parallel system. In this paper, we use the directed acyclic graph (DAG) to represent the tasks and the constraints among them. First we make some changes on the edge scheduling. Then by exploiting of unused time slots between edges or nodes which have been scheduled, the extended scheduling algorithm is proposed, which allows scheduling edge or node on the available time slots. Thus the edges and nodes can be scheduled within the first time. The extended algorithm takes the communication delay under consideration and can be used in heterogeneous environments. By way of evaluating the performance of the extended algorithm, it is conducive to DAG with higher degree of parallelism and is proved to be feasible for data-intensive applications.","PeriodicalId":367523,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Information, Networking and Automation (ICINA)","volume":"66 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124254099","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is crucial for cluster management and performance measurements as the monitoring data can be used to diagnose problems and to suggest remedies by both end users and system administrators. Scalable resource monitoring is essential to the cluster management. This paper proposes a scalable cluster monitoring architecture that builds a structured data aggregation tree(DAT) of master monitoring nodes by using the Chord P2P algorithm. The DAT leverages the Chord topology and routing mechanisms and it is implicitly constructed from native Chord routing paths without previous monitoring nodes membership and topology configuration. To balance the storage space used by monitoring data and computing load of the monitoring node, we propose a balanced routing algorithm that dynamically selects the parent of a node from its finger nodes by its distance to the root. We have evaluated the performance and scalability of our DAT-based monitoring system with up to 2500 nodes in a simulated environment. Our experiments results show that the balanced DAT scheme monitoring system scales well to a large number of nodes. Without explicitly configuring parent-child relationship, it is well adaptive to node arrival and departure and can be easily deployed.","PeriodicalId":367523,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Information, Networking and Automation (ICINA)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117159735","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we presented an optimal region selection method for MI based multi-modal image registration. Firstly, image preprocessing and initial registration were applied on the two images. Then we applied two region selection procedures to improve the performance of MI-based registration. The first procedure is hierarchical region detection that selects regions with more structure information in each of the two images. In this procedure, the images were divided into sub-images progressively, and candidate image blocks with high usability were selected based on entropy. The second procedure is optimal matching region selection based on local registration using MI. In this procedure, the regions selected in the first procedure were registered with MI, then the results are used to choose optimal matching regions with high reliability. Finally, the optimal regions were used for the entire image registration by computing the MI of the regions. The experiment results showed that this method could improve the efficiency and accuracy for MI-based image registration.","PeriodicalId":367523,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Information, Networking and Automation (ICINA)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127303292","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Texture features extraction based on wavelet transform are sensitive to texture rotation and translation. Thus, this paper proposes a new rotation invariant texture extraction technique using Principal Components Analysis (PCA) and Dual-Tree Complex Wavelet Transform (DT-CWT). Firstly, the angle of the principal direction of the texture image is calculated by the PCA. Then, the texture is rotated in the opposite direction by the same angle as detected by PCA. Finally, DT-CWT is applied to the preprocessed texture to extract features which are rotation invariant. Experiment proves the approximate shift invariance, good directional selectivity; computational efficiency properties of DT-CWT make it a good candidate for representing the rotation-invariant texture features.","PeriodicalId":367523,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Information, Networking and Automation (ICINA)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127516820","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The nature of WSN applications such as data centric and many to one data flow and infrastructure of sensors offers different solutions. In some particular applications of WSN such as reprogramming nodes or sending commands to them it is necessary that the sink is able to send data to the sensors in the least possible time. So in such stats, in addition to solving congestion in upstream direction, downstream congestion control is also needed. Although there are approaches that work on congestion in sensor to sink traffic but there is no protocol that control bidirectional congestion. In this paper an approach based on learning automata is proposed. Each intermediate node has an automaton and makes decision to increase or decrease upstream and downstream data rate according to feedback signal which received from environment that sensor works on it.","PeriodicalId":367523,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Information, Networking and Automation (ICINA)","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124816831","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Different from Ad-hoc network which mainly concerns about mobility, the mesh nodes or mesh routers in WMN are connected via wireless links to form a multi-hop backbone infrastructure and improving throughput is their primary goal. Many technologies to build high throughput mesh networks have been proposed, such as routing metrics, multi-radio and multi-channel technology, scheduling algorithms, power control and load balancing etc. All of these are due to the network characteristic and the fundamental requirement to improve throughput in WMN. In this paper, we provide a survey of recently proposed key technologies in literature and expound some representative solutions. Compared with the traditional 2D motion control algorithms, the proposed algorithm can guarantee the consistence of processing feed rate with using quadratic parametric spline fitting. Besides, we separate the feed rates of two-axes which exists master-slave relationship and decouple them to the temporal field, so that the system is able to maintain the specific feed rate of each single axis.
