Almost all names are male names and most of them are reconstructed from one of the two members of binary names – either from the name or from the patronymic. For the most part, the whole root of the appellative was used as a member of proper names (cf. bed - (or bėd -), buk - (or būk -), draust -, gruod -, jaun -, kirt -, maist -, malt -, pikt - (or pykt -), skers -, spud - (or spūd -), stir -, sul -, vais -, vers -, žyd -, žied - (or žėd -) and žies - (or žės -)). In other cases, the new member of appellative origin was shortened by losing the last consonant (cf. deg -, dyg - (or dyk -), drug -, duj -, geg -, kiet -, lab - (or lap -), lok - (or log -, liog -, liok -), mag - (or mak -), mut - (or mud -), pisk - (or pysk -), raug - (or rauk -), reb - (or rep -, rėb -, rėp -, rieb -, riep -), riaub -, rib - (or rip -, ryb -, ryp -), sėd - (or sėt -), staug -, tav -, žav -, žeg - (or žek -, žėg -, žėk -) and žiog - (or žiok -)). This gave rise to new proper name stems beginning with an open syllable. In the second position the usual stems of proper names occur regularly, thus showing that this position was considerably more stable than the first member.","PeriodicalId":36606,"journal":{"name":"Baltistica","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48811653","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main object of the present investigation is longitudinal language data of three children (a late talker and a pair of twins). To describe the features of delayed language development, the language of the above-mentioned children has been compared to the language of typically developing children (two children). Thus, in total, the research material is comprised of five child language sub-corpora totaling 230,000 words. The present investigation has employed the methodology of long-term observation of natural language development, error analysis method, and statistical analysis methods. The results have shown that delayed specific language development (e.g. twins’ language) may be related to more difficulties in the acquisition of the grammatical system than delayed typical development. Thus, the research has demonstrated that delayed development influenced by the untypical situation is a key risk factor.","PeriodicalId":36606,"journal":{"name":"Baltistica","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49492892","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to the traditional point of view accepted by most scholars (who generally dealt only with the linguistic analysis of the micro text), the date attested in the colophon immediately preceding TB (1369) is also applicable to the micro text itself. A sort of communis opinio also concerns the origin of TB, which would have been inserted in (or in any case connected to) Prague. Furthermore, some scholars base their interpretation of TB on the hypothesis that it was written by the same hand that wrote the colophon and/or the talking drawing around which TB was inserted. All these aspects are questioned by the handwriting examination of TB, which confirms the results of the codicological, palaeographic and philological analysis of the micro text presented in Ardoino 2012a; 2012b; 2013.","PeriodicalId":36606,"journal":{"name":"Baltistica","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49303609","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
