The proposed algorithm has a hybrid character, given by the use of random values generated by two chaotic maps with deterministic ones. The performed analysis proves that the proposed algorithm it's fast and secure, being suitable for real-time image scrambling.","PeriodicalId":366043,"journal":{"name":"2014 10th International Conference on Communications (COMM)","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126486291","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed pseudorandom sequence generator is a practical zero-memory information source, with a discrete set of possible values of varying size, obtained through successive random variable transformations applied to the chaotic map. We exemplify on a particular case of the generalized Hénon map. The paper also presents an example of using a pseudorandom chaotic sequence in an enciphering chain, applied to images. The chaotic sequences are studied through conventional statistical methods and also using the NIST test suite. They satisfy the respective randomness requirements.","PeriodicalId":366043,"journal":{"name":"2014 10th International Conference on Communications (COMM)","volume":"79 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133130611","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The future trend will probably migrate toward low-complexity and cost effective systems. Therefore, recent work has focused on transmission over Intensity-Modulated Channels. This article addresses the bandwidth management problem in optical fiber communications. The aim is to give a guideline for the design of the new inter-symbol interference free pulses used for optical transmission, while maintaining acceptable service reliability.","PeriodicalId":366043,"journal":{"name":"2014 10th International Conference on Communications (COMM)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122708027","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The software has become an essential factor in production and enterprise-wide systems. Internet connection has fundamentally changed the arrangements for monitoring and control, and the use of open/public standards and personal computer systems (PCs, tablets, smart phones) bring significant benefits to their users and producers. This led to the definition of Industry 4.0 that brings the concept of the Internet of Things in the industry. In this article, we want to present an Internet of Things architecture based on OPC.NET specifications which can be used in both industrial environments and smart building.","PeriodicalId":366043,"journal":{"name":"2014 10th International Conference on Communications (COMM)","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121696524","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
