This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data were collected in the form of words, clauses, phrases, and sentences contained in the novel Bumi and its translated version Earth that were presented within descriptive qualitative fashion. The finding of this research reveals that the translator employed seven out of eight translation methods proposed by Newmark. Specifically, the finding shows that the translation methods were; word-for-word translation method, literal translation method, faithful translation method, semantic translation method, free translation method, idiomatic translation method, and communicative translation method. Hence, the translation product that appears within the translated novel version has no odd text and the translator comes up with a creative way for certain text and leaves it with a suitable method. The translator overcomes various elements such as linguistic, cultural, and literary device in translating the literary work by choosing particular translation methods that are most effective and appropriate for the source text.","PeriodicalId":365758,"journal":{"name":"JURNAL LISDAYA","volume":"104 10","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131541280","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In daily interactions, the Sasak people need gender deixis in the context of kinship life, traditional life such as traditional rituals, and matters related to their livelihoods. The purpose of this study is to describe the form and meaning of gender deixis in the Sasak language in the sociocultural context of the life of the Sasak people in the context of their traditional traditions and livelihoods. The theory used in this research is the theory of McConnell-Ginet (1987) which reveals that in the lingual elements of language there is a realization of a gender perspective which shows and is embedded in the elements of self-concept, perception and outlook on life of men and women. This study uses a qualitative method with structured and unstructured participatory observation techniques, in-depth interviews with informants. The results of this study indicate that in the context of the socio-cultural life of the community, especially in traditional rituals and livelihoods, it is full of gender deixis which is realized in its lingual forms. Meaningfully, the lingual forms of gender deixis in the Sasak language refer to the sociocultural concepts and perspectives of men and women in Sasak society which reflect on the principles of kinship and respect, responsibility, deliberation and consensus and romanticism, strength and refinement.","PeriodicalId":365758,"journal":{"name":"JURNAL LISDAYA","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133504013","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Diversity caused by geographical similarities, genetic or hereditary similarities, cultural similarities, religious similarities, or even national similarities is a manifestation of God's destiny. On the other hand, this diversity is often a trigger for the threat of damage to the social relations and even national or state unity. This study aims to analyze the scholars’ views about the meaning of the phrase \"li ta'arafu\" in the Al-Hujurat verse 13, al-Qur'an. This descriptive qualitative study using morphosemantic analysis method was focused on the lexicons, word changes of the phrase, and their meanings in terms of lexical meaning and denotative meaning in the Indonesian context. The results of this analysis are very important to the awareness of a linearity between good relations with God and good relations with other people.","PeriodicalId":365758,"journal":{"name":"JURNAL LISDAYA","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134147739","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
