Green bricks prepared with various sieve fractions of WG were dried in air for 24 hours and later in an oven at 110 ᵒCfor 8 hours to remove moisture content and then fired in a furnace at 4 ᵒC/min until 1000 ᵒC was attained. They were left to soak for another 4 hours and allowed to cool in the furnace. Samples were tested for firing shrinkage, weight loss, apparent porosity, water absorption, bulk density, compressive strength and modulus of rupture. Property evaluation and compliance level analysis were carried out on the results obtained, to check level of compliance with existing standards. Results revealed that firing shrinkage, weight loss, apparent porosity and water absorption reduced as WG particle sizes reduced while bulk density, compressive strength and modulus of rupture increased as WG particle sizes reduced. Compliance level table shows that sieve fractions of -150+75 μm (sample C) and -75 μm (sample D) had 100% compliance with all standards used for comparison, while the control sample X (0% additive), (sample A) -850+300 μm and (sample B) -300+150 μm had 50 %, 63 % and 88 % compliance respectively. In conclusion, WG particles sizes of 150 μm and 75 μm had the optimum impact on the properties of fired clay bricks for construction purposes.","PeriodicalId":365412,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advanced Academic Research","volume":"149 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132795146","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The implication of child centered learning is that each pupil should be provided with the necessary materials to participate in the teaching and learning process. The increasing enrollment of pupils in primary schools place a lot of demands on proprietors and school administrators in the provision of necessary facilities for the implementation of the Basic Science and Technology Education curriculum. This write up unveil the secrets of the project method of teaching in supplementing facilities for Basic Science and Technology teaching with improvised materials particularly in primary schools. The process involves the development of skills in the learners such as questioning, manipulation, measurement, design and modeling to create equipment using local resources available in the environment. The role of the teacher is to create enabling environment for the pupils to acquire and demonstrate these skills. The use of local materials in improvising science equipment demystifies the notion that science is foreign and consequently triggers the innate curiosity of pupils to learn. The provision of good working condition for teachers and encouragement of pupil who have exhibited outstanding skills in designing equipment are advocated to promote the project method in improvisation.","PeriodicalId":365412,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advanced Academic Research","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115137755","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The only literature available is directly related to medical studies. This is not because education is not directly affected by the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic but rather because studies in education rarely incorporate effects of disease on the effective provision of education to learners across the globe. The paper focused on the digital learning tools for creating teaching and learning contents at COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. The prime target of the researchers is to outlinethe digital learning tools as it is useful for creating teaching and learning contents for teachers at all level of education. There are many free and paid online digital learning tools available for creating teaching and learning content, such tools include: schoology; Google classroom; Edmodo; Moddle; Grockit; ePals and a lot but just to mention but few. The aforementioned tools were free for some extent, but teachers/tutors and students have to use internet for using these tools for long teaching and learning purpose. Some of the benefits of digital learning tools include the following; to reduce time and cost, issue of any pandemic or lockdown and maintaining social distance to minimize the spread of the disease more especially during pandemic. The paper therefore suggested that there is need for insights regarding the use of digital learning tools and teachers/tutors and students alike should consider digital learning tools for creating and continuous teaching and learning activities. The paper also recommended among others that educational stakeholders in Nigeria should provide training for teachers on how to use various digital learning tools in creating teaching and learning contents.","PeriodicalId":365412,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advanced Academic Research","volume":"89 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129014135","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study adopted both primary and secondary sources of data collection. A total of 11 communities were selected through simple random sampling using the balloting technique while 396 respondents were selected across the target communities using the Taro Yamane and proportion allocation method. The study identified proper bagging and making use of designated waste disposal locations as the predominant household waste management practice. In addition, 40.2% of the sampled population made use of energy saving bulbs and appliances as against 59.8% who do not use energy conserving bulbs and appliances. The study also revealed that 45.1% attributed low income and financial earnings while 29.1% attributed insufficient waste storage and disposal containers as the major factors associated with unsustainable household practices. Finally the tested hypotheses at 95% probability level revealed that income and educational status significantly influenced household waste management practice and energy usage respectively. Therefore, the study recommends that adequate awareness against unacceptable household practice like indiscriminate waste disposal should be undertaken.","PeriodicalId":365412,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advanced Academic Research","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126696134","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study adopted Ex post Facto research design. The study used sample of fifteen (15) Nigerian banks from 2010 to 2019. Data for the study was collected from annual reports and accounts of the banks. Regression analysis was used to test the hypothesis with the aid of E-view 9.0. Based on this, the study revealed that operating activities are not statistically significant and have a negative effect on total accruals earnings of Nigerian banks. The study concludes that the importance of risk management activities is aimed at reducing future cash flow. Based on this, the researcher recommended among others that managers should be more likely to opportunistically boost operating cash flows if the firm has a cash flow forecast like engaging in principal financing source for maintaining the operating capability of the entity in terms of repaying loan and making new investment.","PeriodicalId":365412,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advanced Academic Research","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132608614","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Effective cost management creates significant business opportunities. This allows companies to pay off debt, thus reducing the amount of debt into cash. Cost control increases corporate profits and improved profits lead to the purchase of better, more efficient and renewable equipment. The product is delivered at a cost that does not add value in terms of quantity, quantity or quality, but you usually sell the product for a profit. These costs are borne by the manufacturer or buyer by increasing the cost of production or the price of the goods. Manufacturers and service providers are therefore constantly making efforts to reduce shipping costs and the use of transport modeling methods is a strategy proposed by experts. The purpose of this measurement study was to examine the relationship between transportation model and cost control in manufacturing organizations. The number of sample frame includes ten manufacturing companies in Rivers State, Nigeria with 103 participants. The Spearman Rank Order Correlation Coefficient discloses that the use of transportation model has a positive impact on the cost of goods shipped, the quantity of goods shipped and the reliability of delivery.","PeriodicalId":365412,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advanced Academic Research","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131665260","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
