This research targeted the examination of fish species, the status of fish capture and consumption along the Nan River in the Bang Krathum district, Phitsanulok province, Thailand. Between November 2019 and April 2020, three sites were sampled along the river, and four sites were sampled in the local markets. A total of 35 individuals including fishermen, fish traders, and governmental officers involved in the region's fish resource management were subjected to purposive sampling. The data analysis was undertaken utilizing methods such as mean, frequency and percentage. The findings revealed 28 fish species across 11 families and six orders. The family Cyprinidae in the order Cypriniformes had the highest number of species (10 species). The number of fish species found in the local markets (19 species) was higher than those found in the river (17 species). In terms of consumption, the majority of fishermen and fish traders were female (65.71% and 84.62%, respectively). However, 95.00% of them lacked certification for fishing in public areas. The preferred method of fishing was floating netting, with predominant catch of carp species recorded at least twice a week. Compared to previous figures, productivity has decreased indicating a need for adequate training and knowledge about natural resource management and stocking enhancement.","PeriodicalId":36369,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Current Science and Technology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74003591","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The specific algorithm is developed for this systemic review, exclusion criteria for the review were set and results were excluded which were meets the exclusion criteria. To build a review, Google Scholar® and PubMed® are two databases that are targeted so that we can collect the number of freely available full-text articles and can minimize the risk of bias (unavailability of full-text articles, for this study). By adopting the algorithm, searched articles were studied thoroughly and we found that thirteen types of VDDS were used by the researchers to treat skin infections caused by fungi in the last five years. From this current systemic review, we found a numbers of VDDSs are available for skin fungal infection, but all are not suitable for topical applications because of some drawbacks associated with some VDDS such as instability (Emulsomes), high cost of manufacturing (Sphingosomes), low transfer efficiency (Aquasomes), etc. As per the data analysed, we can say that; Liposomes, Ethosomes, Niosomes, Bilosomes, Cubosomes, and Ufasomes are the choices of researchers as VDDS in the therapy of different fungal diseases. Upcoming researchers can focus on these VDDSs in the treatment of infections spread on the skin by the fungi.","PeriodicalId":36369,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Current Science and Technology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74713806","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thai rice is well known and there are many varieties of rice including white rice and pigmented rice. This research aimed to study the properties and volatile compounds of Awamori produced from five Thai rice varieties including KDML105, Chainat, RD6, brown KDML105, and riceberry rice. Rice koji was prepared by inoculating the steamed rice with tane-koji from Aspergillus awamori at 0.2% by weight. Then, water and Saccharomyces cerevisiae were added and alcoholic fermentations were performed at around 2 weeks. The production of alcohol and pH changes during the liquid fermentation were monitored, and volatile compounds of the Awamori were determined by gas chromatography-mass spectrophotometry (GC-MS). The highest soluble solid and alcohol content were observed in the fermentation of KDML 105. The alcohol content after 2 weeks of fermentation ranged from 14.5-18 %, with the pH around 4.02-4.5. The same volatile compounds, ethyl alcohol, isobutyl alcohol, isoamyl alcohol, phenylethyl alcohol, isoamyl acetate, ethyl laurate, ethyl linoleate, with the flavor descriptions as alcohol, wine-like, mushroom-like, floral, rose, fruity, banana, sweet, ice-cream, mild fatty, oily, and honey-like odors were detected in all samples from Thai rice while KDML105 presented greater diversity of volatile compounds than the other Thai rice.","PeriodicalId":36369,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Current Science and Technology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80617349","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the use of bacteriophages to control heat-stable protease Pseudomonas fluorescens is still rare. The objectives of this study were to isolate lytic bacteriophages of P. fluorescens, and to evaluate their efficacy in controlling P. fluorescens at the laboratory level. Among these strains, only one phage, ΦTIS1, was isolated by using P. fluorescens TISTR 1887 as the host. Further analysis using electron microscopy indicated that ΦTIS1 belongs to the Myoviridae family. This phage ΦTIS1 was relatively stable at pH and temperature ranges of 4.0 to 12.0 and 4, 30, 37, and 45°C, respectively, after 1.5 h incubation. The partial ΦTIS1 genome was a linear double-stranded with a total length of 87,646 bp and a G + C content of 54.71%. In vitro studies of the effect of bacteriophages against P. fluorescens TISTR 1887 with phage ΦTIS1 using various multiplicity of infection (MOI) values showed a significant decrease in bacterial numbers during 6-12 hours of incubation, followed by bacterial regrowth. However, the phage was still able to significantly reduce the bacterial numbers compared to the control without phage. These findings suggest that phage ΦTIS1 has the potential to be an effective method for controlling the prevalence of spoilage-causing P. fluorescens strains in dairy industries.","PeriodicalId":36369,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Current Science and Technology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79986173","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The COVID-19 pandemic has emphasized the significance of remote healthcare services, such as telemedicine, in managing chronic diseases such as PD. This research intends to construct machine learning (ML) models to predict PD severity utilizing vocal data derived from the UCI database for motor and total Unified Parkinson's disease rating scale (UPDRS) ratings. ML was used to study the association between voice vibration and PD, and PCA and ML models were utilized to minimize model complexity and compare the predictive performance of various statistical models for PD regression. The dataset included 5,875 medical voice records from 42 patients with early-stage PD who participated in a six-month clinical trial. The proposed PCA model simplified the model and achieved a root-mean-square error of 1.78 with an R-squared value of 0.95 for predicting the motor UPDRS and 1.78 with an R-squared value of 0.97 for predicting the total UPDRS. This work can give a framework for developing remote healthcare services for Parkinson's disease and other chronic conditions, which can be helpful during pandemics and other situations where access to in-person care is limited.","PeriodicalId":36369,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Current Science and Technology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77133036","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objectives in this study were to investigate the antibacterial activities and potential for silk dyeing of the crude extract from the actinobacterial strain J4. Initially, the antibacterial activities of the crude pigment extracts obtained from the actinobacterial strain J4 isolated from the wasp’s nest were determined. To extract the water-insoluble pigments used for antibacterial activity testing via the agar well diffusion method, ethyl acetate was applied during the pigment extraction. These extracts showed an inhibitory effect against Salmonella Typhimurium TISTR1472, Bacillus subtilis PSRU-01, and Enterococcus faecalis TISTR459. Secondly, evaluation of silk dyeing was carried out. We used the extractant as 70 % (v/v) ethanol in the alternative extraction process when the strain J4 was cultivated by solid-state fermentation with broken-milled rice to prepare actinobacterial dye for silk dyeing. The pigment extract obtained was tested for color stability based on washing methods, and the sensitivity to light was determined according to ISO105-C06:2010(E) and ISO 105-B02:2014(E), respectively. The color stability and sensitivity of the pigment extract to washing showed scores between 3-5, and the sensitivity to light demonstrated scores between 3-4. Taxonomically, the strain J4 was dark-violet colonies, and its water-soluble pigment diffused on sodium caseinate agar (SCA). To identify the strain J4, the phylogenetic identification based on partial sequencing of 16S rDNA was applied. The identification result indicated that the strain J4 was closely related to Streptomyces coacervatus (99.8% sequence similarity). In future, antibacterial activities of the crude extracts obtained from actinobacteria strain J4 should be tested with other food-borne pathogens. The development of Streptomyces dyes should also focus on the stability of the dyes during the silk dyeing process. ","PeriodicalId":36369,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Current Science and Technology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77968696","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The major aim is “to diagnose the heart disease with higher accuracy through decreasing error rate including computational complexity”.  The existing techniques did not proffer adequate accuracy and also increased the error rate. Therefore, a Deep Graph Neural Network with Fish-Inspired Task Allocation Algorithm is proposed in this manuscript for categorizing heart disease diagnosis (DGNN-FITA-HDD). Synthetic Minority Oversampling and standard scalar strategies are utilized for pre-processing process. The pre-processed output is given to feature selection process. Two-Stage Feature Selection method selects the most important features from pre-processing output. Extracted features are transferred to Deep Graph Neural Network (DGNN) for categorizing presence and absence of heart disease. DGNN does not expose any adoption of optimization strategies for calculating the optimum parameters to assure accurate prediction. Fish-Inspired Task Allocation approach is proposed for optimizing the weight parameters of DGNN. The proposed approach is executed at MATLAB. The performance of algorithm is analyzed with/without feature selection method. By this, the proposed DGNN-FITA-HDD method attains higher accuracy with feature selection of 13.41%, 18.53%, 10.38% and 9.31% and without feature selection attains 6.5%, 8.64%, 4.39%, and 10.28% compared with existing methods, like EDGA-AHHO-HDD, XGB-MAPO-HDD, AGAFL-HDD and RFBM-HDD respectively.","PeriodicalId":36369,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Current Science and Technology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87723672","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, this research aims to assess the ergonomic risk level of smartphone users and determine the correlation between self-reported musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) and ergonomic risk level. Data were collected from 90 participants, aged 18 to 24, through video recording while seated and using a smartphone. MSDs were measured using the Modified Standardised Nordic Questionnaires (SNQ) and the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS). Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) was used to evaluate ergonomic risks in the posture of smartphone users. Furthermore, the correlation between MSDs and the ergonomic risk levels was evaluated using Chi-Square and Fisher's exact tests. Most smartphone users had RULA scores between 6 and 7 for both the left and right sides, suggesting a need for immediate investigation and improvement. The results showed a strong correlation between the right sided RULA total score and MSDs in the neck and upper back. Other results showed there was a significant correlation between RULA B and RULA D scores with neck MSDs, as well as between the RULA score of the right upper arm and MSDs in the right shoulder, and between the RULA score of the neck and MSDs in the neck. The trunk RULA score also had a significant correlation with upper back MSDs. The research showed that smartphone users face significant ergonomic risks.","PeriodicalId":36369,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Current Science and Technology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90941680","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is now widespread in the United States, South America and the Mediterranean basin, where it has found a suitable terrain for naturalization. It is a species of cactus popularly known as Nopal in Mexico and “Fico d’India” in Italy. Cladodes, the branched leaves of the plant, are paddle shaped and covered in short spines that enable it to absorb even the tiniest drop of water. A specific and well known type of Opuntia, called Opuntia ficus-indica, can be recognized by its typical yellow flowers and is appreciated for its fleshy fruit with a pleasant taste, rich in nutrients but low in calories. It is used as a foodstuff and in particular to produce juices, jellies and other edible products. The O. ficus-indica is also well known as a source of vitamins, especially vitamin C, calcium and phosphorus and in smaller quantities of other minerals and various essential nutrients, including antioxidants. The cladodes are the part of the plant from which the extract is used to aid weight control and as a cosmetic ingredient with an emollient and soothing action. The spongy tissues of the cladodes contain high concentrations of high molecular weight polysaccharides, which are relevant for the specific properties commonly attributed to this common succulent plant. This review presents several medicinal benefits, which can be obtained using cladodes, fruits and flowers of the different Opuntia species.","PeriodicalId":36369,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Current Science and Technology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"72992280","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Fatigue failure of all these springs brings enormous eventual repair and replacement costs. A fatigue test is conducted to ascertain fatigue strength. The spring test plan is rather extensive due to the limited time and numerous test spring versions. Efforts were made to anticipate the helical spring's fatigue life. Multiaxial fatigue theories are examined in this work. The research paper aims to scrutinize the appropriate techniques that spring manufacturers should employ in the planning stage to calculate the fatigue life of helical compression springs. The criteria of Wang & Brown, Fatemi & Socie, Mitchell, Baumel & Seeger, and Smith & Watson are used in the present investigation. The results of the experiment and the predicted life are compared. Spring fatigue life is overvalued by the Wang-Brown criterion, while the Fatemi-Socie model offers a precise forecast of fatigue life.","PeriodicalId":36369,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Current Science and Technology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81777724","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
