Intentions are crucial in any behavior to realize such behaviors and yield expected results. Owing to the problem of this study as how to initiate innovations in the global tea market, the study was carried out to find out the determinants of intentions of small tea exporters in Sri Lanka. This is a quantitative study followed by deductive reasoning. This study selected small tea exporters with the view of enhancing their intentions to proceed with these innovations, as large tea exporters are already introducing innovations to the tea industry. The study collected data from 120 small tea exporters who had registered with the Sri Lanka Tea Board by the end of 2020 using a structured questionnaire. The findings revealed that Individual Entrepreneurial Orientation (IEO), attitudes, and Entrepreneurial Self-efficacy (ESE) have significant and positive impact on Intrapreneurial Intention (INI) of small tea exporters in Sri Lanka while IEO contributes more to the INI. Finally, the findings of this study provide useful insights for small tea exporters in stimulating their intentions towards the introduction of innovations leading to a better performance in the global tea market. Further, it will guide policymakers and the government in designing the appropriate policies, rules, and regulations in this context.","PeriodicalId":36330,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Management and Sustainability","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139824579","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We collected sample data on KOSPI-listed companies in 2021 using ESG ratings released by the Korea Corporate Governance Service. The system of ratings was segmented into three distinct categories for the purpose of analysis, namely the environment, society, and governance. An empirical investigation was conducted to determine how ESG ratings and separate ratings (E, S, and G ratings) affect financial performance. We also examined the moderating impact of the debt ratio on the association between ESG ratings and financial performance to enhance the explanatory strength of this relationship. The results indicated that ESG ratings and E and S ratings are positively related to financial performance, and the debt ratio has a negative moderating effect on the link between ESG ratings related to environmental aspects and financial performance. The findings indicate that firms need ESG management to improve financial performance. ESG ratings can be utilized to show the effects of environment-focused management, sustainability, and CSR initiatives on financial performance. Additionally, the moderation effect of the debt ratio in this study clearly demonstrates the connection between ESG rating and financial performance. Our analysis also demonstrates that organizations with high debt ratios and a lack of resources to pursue ESG are unable to devote a significant amount of time and resources to ESG management.","PeriodicalId":36330,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Management and Sustainability","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140484775","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Moreover, brand equity serves as a crucial link connecting these orientations to company performance. However, the existing literature presents a substantial gap in understanding this relationship, particularly within the context of India. To address this gap, this study proposes an innovative framework for examining the interplay between brand orientation, market orientation, business performance, and brand equity. A survey was done in northern India using a causal study design to determine cause-and-effect correlations among the components. The participants were asked to respond to an English-language questionnaire. The outcomes of the structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis support all of the proposed hypotheses. The findings of this study carry significant implications for businesses aiming to optimize their brand and market orientations while capitalizing on their brand equity to enhance their overall performance. This research offers fresh insights for businesses operating in diverse cultural and economic contexts through its innovative methodology and empirical evidence. Businesses can enhance their brand and reputation, launch tailored offerings, and gain a competitive advantage through market and brand orientation. The framework developed in this study can be adapted to other emerging economies or even larger organizations. For both businesses and academics, this research serves as a valuable resource, providing a deeper comprehension of the intricate relationship between brand orientation, market orientation, company performance, and brand equity in India and beyond.","PeriodicalId":36330,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Management and Sustainability","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140485301","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study employs geographical weighting analysis as its primary methodology, allowing for a nuanced examination of variable impacts within specific geographic regions. Data is gathered through surveys distributed to companies operating in various high-energy consumption sectors that have previously engaged in industrial symbiosis activities to varying extents. The study’s findings emphasize the crucial role that financial and performance-related risks played in influencing the decision-making process surrounding the implementation of industrial symbiosis. Furthermore, the research highlights the significance of regional dynamics in influencing waste disposal practices and the overall success of industrial symbiosis initiatives. Additionally, the study underscores the impact of social media and networks in disseminating vital information that is instrumental in advancing innovative industrial symbiosis processes. These findings hold practical implications for stakeholders, including policymakers, businesses, and organizations aiming to foster sustainable economic practices. Understanding the influence of risk factors and regional intricacies enables tailoring strategies that can promote industrial symbiosis adoption. Moreover, recognizing the pivotal role of social media and networks in knowledge dissemination can accelerate the adoption of novel practices, facilitating the transition towards greener economies in developed and developing regions associated with the European Economic Community.","PeriodicalId":36330,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Management and Sustainability","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140481942","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Mixed views have been expressed regarding nuclear power plants, depending on whether the benefits of nuclear energy, such as economic benefits and convenience, are weighed against potential risks or vice versa. Various factors are assumed to influence views on nuclear power. Using financial panel survey data, the findings revealed that the presence of religious belief alone did not significantly impact acceptance of nuclear power plants. Nonetheless, the Catholic group exhibited a lower level of acceptance of nuclear power plants. In addition, the difference between the Buddhist and Protestant groups is not statistically significant because both religions have not established a clear view of nuclear energy. By analyzing religious factors as determinants of nuclear power acceptance in addition to environmental and political factors, this study provides evidence that individual religion or type of religion has a significant influence on nuclear power policy.","PeriodicalId":36330,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Management and Sustainability","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140502809","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The practices investigated are also supported by ways of determining how MSMEs are motivated to implement them and what constraints inhibit such practices. This is a descriptive study, and the MSME (organization) is the unit of analysis, and the owner or manager is the target of the respondent. A total of 300 questionnaires were disseminated to Malaysian MSMEs by using convenient sampling, and the response rate was 48.7%. Overall, the findings reflect the moderate sustainability implementation level of MSMEs. This demonstrates a positive and proactive stance towards environmental sustainability among MSMEs. However, cost reduction and efficiency were reported as the most significant motivators, while lack of support and information from the government as well as social influence were reported as the main constraints. This study provides meaningful insights on pro-environmental practices, green knowledge sharing, and green HRM in improving sustainability practices in MSMEs. MSMEs that voluntarily see sustainability challenges as business opportunities might be ahead of regulations and could draw benefits from this position. The findings also help MSMEs frame their green activities to drive their business capability of creating and retaining greater value in their core business competencies and competitiveness.","PeriodicalId":36330,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Management and Sustainability","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139532569","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition, this study also examines the role of risk tolerance as a mediator in the influence of personality traits on investment intentions. A quantitative research method is used to measure personality traits, financial literacy, risk tolerance, and investment intention. A survey was conducted among young individuals in Indonesia. Respondents came from various regions in Indonesia, especially those from Java, Indonesia. The number of samples was 405 questionnaires. The results show that several personality traits, such as extraversion, neuroticism, and openness, affect investment intentions. However, the results show conscientiousness and agreeableness do not affect investment intentions. Researchers have found that extraversion and conscientiousness do not affect risk tolerance, but neuroticism, openness, and agreeableness do. Financial literacy and risk tolerance are also proven to affect investment intentions. When the mediation effect was tested, it was found that neuroticism, openness, and agreeableness affect investment intentions. On the other hand, risk tolerance does not act as a mediator variable between extraversion and investment intention. The practical implication of the study lies in assisting stock exchanges in developing countries to craft effective strategies for attracting Generation Z and Alpha investors, particularly during periods of economic volatility.","PeriodicalId":36330,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Management and Sustainability","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139534281","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study employs a mixed approach that involves both quantitative and qualitative analyses of the responses obtained from a structured questionnaire used as the survey instrument. The questionnaire was distributed to some selected members of staff of the 17 licensed banks in South Africa saddled with the responsibilities of operation, customer service, management, and administration. In addition, non-parametric statistical analyses such as Fischer’s Exact and Chi-square tests, as well as Spearman’s correlation, were carried out. The outcome of this study indicated that the effectiveness of information security on customers’ service in the South African banking industry is assumed to be high. South African banks are deploying different anti-fraud technologies to strengthen the level of information security; however, there are still substantial cases of cyberfraud and unauthorised intrusions. The findings also indicate that the integration of forensic accounting and management control systems may promote information security in the banking industry. This study provided an insight into the impact of information security framework development to reduce systems’ vulnerability and intrusions.","PeriodicalId":36330,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Management and Sustainability","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139535156","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
