Therefore, measuring life satisfaction of women is important to see their view of life. Life satisfaction measures the overall satisfaction in life. The aim of this study is to determine whether there are differences in life satisfaction among working women in Malaysian from the perspectives of demographic characteristics. The measure of life satisfaction was based on the Life Satisfaction Scale. Purposive random sampling method was used to choose the sample. The analysis is based on responses of 302 working women. Independent t-test and one-way ANOVA is used to the test the variables. Overall, the life satisfaction of the working women was found to be moderate in the study. The results of the study found significant differences in life satisfaction with regards to marital status, age, occupation, income, spouse’s education and spouse’s income. However, ethnicity, education, spouse’s age, spouse’s occupation and number of children did not show to be significantly different. The Ministry in charge of women, family and society development could provide the necessary assistance to women who are having problems that could affect their life satisfaction. Women who are interested in opening their own business could also be assisted by the relevant agencies to improve in their income. Through this, they can assist their family financially. More policies supporting women should be introduced to assist or strengthen the position of women to move up professionally and socially.","PeriodicalId":36203,"journal":{"name":"Review of Applied Socio-Economic Research","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48038068","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research used data from annual reports and the audited financial statements of firms operating individual retail chains from 2005 to 2020. The research includes nine commercial companies and focuses on the development of sales, costs and cost ratios, profit and profitability, and assets and resources. The relationships between the indicators are evaluated using correlation analysis, and the similarity of trade chains using cluster analysis. From the point of view of retail formats, discounters are particularly successful, which, together with medium-sized supermarkets, are growing at the expense of hypermarkets and large supermarkets. Success and dominance in the Czech market are related to high labour productivity and low unit costs. The combination of price promotions and a wide range of private products, characteristic of discount chains, is very attractive to customers and, together with low unit costs, creates the potential for increasing the market share of discounters. Hypermarkets and large supermarkets will face further stagnation and pressure to downsize stores, automate and use other cost-cutting methods. The article brings new insights into the economics of FMCG chains operating in the Czech market, emphasising the differences between trade formats in perspective from 2005.","PeriodicalId":36203,"journal":{"name":"Review of Applied Socio-Economic Research","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46072764","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Remittances have always been vital to Turkey's development as a remittance recipient country. However, this trend has recently changed, Turkey is currently receiving significantly less remittance, and this reduction in remittance is well noted in its economic performance. This study is an attempt in this regard to find out whether remittance inflow to Turkey will be sustained in the future or its decline will continue. The findings of this study will provide insight to the country's economic and financial policymakers in devising policies that would ensure future remittance inflows. An auto-regressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) approach is applied, and remittance inflow data from 1974 to 2019 is used to forecast remittance inflow for the next 11 years till 2030. According to the results, remittances would drop to a level of -1.00 percent of GDP in 2030, down from 4.00 per cent in 1974.","PeriodicalId":36203,"journal":{"name":"Review of Applied Socio-Economic Research","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48524315","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Lack of improvement in conditions or stagnation is often considered a cause for concern because it can lead to a decline in the health profile of the population driven by adverse socioeconomic status trends. Consequently, the determinants of modeling the life expectancy of males and females in Indonesia was carefully selected by collecting data in 34 Indonesian provinces from 2010-2020. The modeling was carried out using the Generalized Method of Moment (GMM) method with the GMM system model approach. The results showed that the availability of health infrastructure and environmental conditions, such as sanitation and access to safe drinking water are very important to support and guarantee access to health services needed by the community. Social and economic status, such as GRDP per capita, literacy, unemployment, and poverty also contribute to the increase in life expectancy of males and females in Indonesia. Furthermore, the realization of government policies in the health sector must be continuously evaluated for the sustainability of the infrastructure development acceleration program by prioritizing community welfare improvement.","PeriodicalId":36203,"journal":{"name":"Review of Applied Socio-Economic Research","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48750025","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the emergence of social networking sites, which have formed a parallel world to the real world, the behaviour of individuals and their motives to engage in electronic word of mouth (eWOM) on social media platforms has become extremely important for brands. Due to a relative lack in studies focusing on the cultural difference-based impact of social relationships on eWOM in social media, the present study seeks to address this gap as its broad objective is to investigate the effect of social relationship variables on eWOM in social media by comparing two different cultures, namely Syria and Hungary in order to explore whether social relationships exert a more significant impact on eWOM in a collectivistic society than in an individualistic one. An explanatory research design was adopted and the data was collected by means of a questionnaire survey. The final sample included 113 Syrian and 90 Hungarian respondents, all of them aged 35 or below. It was found that tie strength among young adults has a more positive impact on eWOM in Syria than in Hungary, while no homophily impact was found on eWOM in either. Regarding the other social relationship variables examined in the study (trust, normative and informational influences), the results showed that they do not have a more positive impact on eWOM in Syria than in Hungary. The research is believed to have contributed to previous investigations on the impact of social relationships on eWOM via social media by providing insights into the role of a cultural value dimension in determining the extent to which individuals are affected by their cultural background, whether collectivistic or individualistic, when they interact in social media platforms. At the same time, it is acknowledged that the study has limitations thus future examinations are necessary.","PeriodicalId":36203,"journal":{"name":"Review of Applied Socio-Economic Research","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45567793","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It mainly includes agricultural crop residues and animal dung which is easily available and found in abundance. But it’s the dilemma of present times, that while on one side biomass fuel is facilitating the lives of residents of rural areas by providing them a low-cost solution to meet their energy requirements, at the same time it is posing a potential risk to health of rural women. These women are directly exposed to the health hazards of gases being released from burning of biomass fuel due to longer contact hours. This research was conducted with the purpose to investigate how domestic cooking fuel is affecting the health and lives of women directly or indirectly. This research work was conducted in year 2019, in three districts of Punjab, Okara, Hafizabad and Multan, with 480 data samples collected evenly in the research area. There were two slots, based on different age groups, defined for data collection. In response to investigating different social parameters and their association with health impact, it was found that rural women with age group between 20 to 40 (slot 1) were suffering from mental health issues at higher rate of 64 % while those with age group above 40 (Slot 2) were found at higher risk to physical health issues with 83 % of the studied population. Similarly, rural women belonging to slot 1, exhibited 87 % of workload and domestic fuel management responsibilities. The findings of this research exhibited significant variation of health impact on women for different sources of biomass fuel.","PeriodicalId":36203,"journal":{"name":"Review of Applied Socio-Economic Research","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47436171","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 20 first-time founders to establish their socio-economic status, parental influence on their success as founders, and the impact of parental socio-economic status on their financial success. The main findings showed that the majority of participants believed that high socio-economic status of parents had a significant positive effect on the financial success of new start-ups, although those from lower socio-economic backgrounds could also succeed. The characteristics of unequal social status were often expressed and the status of German as a nation with low social mobility confirmed. However, the extent to which financial support and context networks supported founders from high socio-economic status families was difficult to ascertain as founders were often unwilling to admit its actual influence. In contrast, the parental influences on values and positive attributes relating to their success were more freely discussed. Based on the revenues and valuation of the start-up companies, two trends for first time founder success were identified: the most successful founders had parents with high socio-economic status; some very successful founders demonstrated high social mobility, which is contrary to the existing data that social mobility in German is very low.","PeriodicalId":36203,"journal":{"name":"Review of Applied Socio-Economic Research","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44214281","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
