Through a qualitative approach with a literature review method, this study analyzes various relevant literature sources, including scientific journals, books, articles, and research reports. The results of the study show that despite increased awareness of the importance of women's involvement in politics, various social and structural barriers still hinder their participation. The implementation of the women's quota policy is often inconsistent, and support from political parties is still inadequate. In addition, social norms and gender stereotypes continue to be a significant challenge. However, women who succeed in political leadership positions bring positive changes in public policies that are more inclusive and gender-sensitive. {"title":"DINAMIKA GENDER DALAM KONTROVERSI LGBT DI INDONESIA: ANALISIS BUDAYA, AGAMA, DAN KEBIJAKAN","authors":"Safinah Safinah","doi":"10.30631/81.1-10","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.30631/81.1-10","url":null,"abstract":"The controversy regarding LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) in Indonesia reflects the tension between traditional values and modernity, as well as between religious norms and human rights. This article analyzes the factors that influence the views of Indonesian people towards LGBT, including cultural influences, religion, government policies, and the role of mass media. The findings suggest that negative views of LGBT people are influenced by conservative cultural norms and religious teachings that firmly reject homosexuality. In addition, existing government policies and regulations often do not support LGBT rights, and even tend to be repressive. Mass media also contributes to strengthening stigma against LGBT through negative representation. As a result, LGBT individuals in Indonesia often face discrimination and violence, which adversely affects their mental health and well-being. Through a qualitative approach with interview, observation, and documentation methods, it was found that cooperatives play a significant role in providing skills training, access to business capital, and increasing women's involvement in decision-making. In addition, cooperatives also contribute to a positive change in people's perception of women's roles and increase their confidence and social role. These findings confirm that cooperatives can be an effective model for women's empowerment and community development in rural areas. The findings suggest that education, migration, and local cultural influences play an important role in driving gender role change. However, the process also faces various challenges, including internal conflicts and social pressure from the community. This article identifies effective conflict resolution strategies, such as open communication, compromise, and community support, that can help multicultural families achieve equality and harmony. However, biased information and unhealthy debates can also hinder adolescents' understanding. This study aims to explore the influence of digital media on the formation of gender identity in children in the digital era through a literature study method. The study analyzes a variety of relevant literature sources, including books, scientific journals, and academic articles, to identify key themes and gaps in the existing literature. The focus of the research includes the influence of social media, digital games, educational content, and the dynamics of online interaction on children's perception and expression of gender identity. The results show that digital media has a complex role in the formation of gender identity, both positively and negatively, depending on how the media is used and accompanied. The implications of these findings underscore the need for a more inclusive and critical approach to designing and supervising digital content consumed by children. The study also identified several limitations, including limitations in the scope of literature that may not fully represent all aspects of children's experiences with digital media. The data was collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation analysis at one of the information technology companies in Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat, Jambi. The findings show that women often face gender stereotypes, difficulties in balancing work and personal life, and barriers to getting promotions and recognition for their achievements. To address these challenges, women use a variety of strategies, including building support networks, attending training and skill development, and effective time management. Although the company has implemented various policies to support gender equality, its implementation still encounters various obstacles. Using a qualitative approach, this research involves in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation analysis. The results showed that boys and girls faced different challenges and developed specific adaptation strategies based on their gender roles. Solidarity and social networks among street children play an important role in their resilience strategies. However, while these strategies are effective in the short term, street children remain in vulnerable conditions that require further intervention. Using a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, this study reveals how the understanding and application of religious values, as well as gender views, are shaped by the interaction between religious education in schools and family influence. The results show that although the understanding of religious values is generally strong, there are variations in their application that are influenced by academic and social pressures. Gender views among teenagers also show diversity, with some students holding conservative views while others are more progressive. These findings underscore the importance of an inclusive and dialogical approach to education to support the integration of religious values and gender equality. Although the Minangkabau people are known for their matrilineal system, patriarchal values are still dominant in daily life, especially in marriage. Through a qualitative approach, this study uses in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation to collect data from various related parties, including married couples, traditional leaders, and local cultural experts. The findings suggest that patriarchy plays an important role in determining gender roles in wedding processions, with men often placed as leaders and decision-makers. However, there are signs of change driven by education and urbanization, which is pushing young couples to demand gender equality in marriage. This study also found resistance from the older generation and rural communities who still hold fast to patriarchal values.
