Two workers of C. oertzeni were discovered in the south-eastern part of the country, near the village of Benjë-Novoselë. So far, it is the northernmost known distribution of this very rarely collected species, the sole representative of its genus in Europe, whose previous records all come from Greece and Turkey. The rare bryophyte species Fissidens fontanus was found within the course of a comprehensive field study of the aquatic flora and vegetation of Lake Visovac (Krka National Park). This is the second record of this species in Croatia after the recent discovery in the Trepča River. The species grows among rich macrophyte vegetation, forming small patches up to 2.5 m in depth. Nat. Croat. Pseudoporcellanella manoliensis was previously known from India, Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, and the South China Sea. The present specimens were caught by a fisherman as by-catch of the blue swimming crab ( Portunus pelagicus ) in April and June 2017. Pseudoporcellanella manoliensis was found clinging to a sea pen ( Scytalium sp . ) taken along the net. Three males and three ovigerous females each carrying approximately 600 eggs were found. Nat. Croat. Vol. 28, No. 1., 181-183, Zagreb, 2019. In 2015 a paper describing new findings of micromoth species from the genera Goniodoma and Coleophora from some Balkan countries (Croatia, Montenegro, N. Macedonia and Bulgaria) was published (Richter & Pastorális). Among other findings, 11 moth species were identified as new for the Balkans and 13 moth species as new for Croatia. But three of these species, all from the genus Coleophora, were previously reported for Croatia and thus do not represent new findings, either for the Balkans or for Croatia. The two supposedly newly identified species for the Balkans are Coleophora ahenella (Heinemann, 1877) and Coleophora gallipennella (Hübner, 1796). Both species were previously reported for the fauna of Croatia, so these findings do not represent new findings for the Balkans. Also the supposedly new species for the fauna of Croatia, Coleophora bilineella (Herrich-Schäffer, 1855), was previously reported for Croatia and therefore does not represent a new species for the fauna of Croatia.","PeriodicalId":36013,"journal":{"name":"Natura Croatica","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.20302/NC.2019.28.18","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45140345","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In all, 26 saproxylic beetle species listed in 14 families were identified. Nat. Croat. Vol. 28, No. 1., 73-88, 2019, Zagreb. The bryophyte flora in the settlement Selina and the surrounding area (western Istria) was surveyed during the vegetation season of 2014. Altogether 66 mosses and 6 liverworts were recorded. Phytogeographically, the most abundant species are of the temperate zonobiome, i.e. circumpolar species, with respect to eastern limit categories. Analysis of bryophyte flora through habitat types shows that the highest species richness occurs by shaded rocks and in crevices, while the lowest richness occurs on arable land and occasionally the flooded banks of ponds. Regarding species composition, habitat types are clustered in four basic groups. Based on Ellenberg’s ecological indicator values for light, moisture, reaction of substrate and amount of nutrients, the differences between bryophyte floras of different habitats are explained using methods of descriptive and multivariate statistics.","PeriodicalId":36013,"journal":{"name":"Natura Croatica","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.20302/nc.2019.28.7","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48413010","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
