It is also designed to express rights information specified in several existing standards for protecting digital broadcast content, such as CCI, TV-Anytime RMPI, DVB-CPCM USI and rights object of OMA DRM v2.0 extensions for broadcast. This paper introduces these rights information standards and presents how the DAC Profile provides its interoperability with them by representing these rights information standards.","PeriodicalId":358392,"journal":{"name":"Third International Conference on Automated Production of Cross Media Content for Multi-Channel Distribution (AXMEDIS'07)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125312204","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents one of the key sections of the framework with particular focus on the programme and publication (P&P) interface for defining programme and distribution of contents. The P&P tools provide an integrated environment with GUI where users can search for contents, create/edit programmes, and specify the transmission channel. Once a P&P programme is created and activated, the contents can be processed and delivered in an automatic manner as defined by the P&P programme. To demonstrate the functionalities of the AXMEDIS P&P tools, this paper presents a case study which utilises the P&P tools for the distribution of the AXMEDIS contents via satellite data broadcast provided by the EUTELSAT's OPENSKY platform.","PeriodicalId":358392,"journal":{"name":"Third International Conference on Automated Production of Cross Media Content for Multi-Channel Distribution (AXMEDIS'07)","volume":"216 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133464135","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

DRM platforms are usually composed by a set of different functionalities and components that usually manage and exchange keying material in a secure way. This key material has to be properly and securely managed in order to avoid the security compromise of these DRM platforms. Unfortunately, most of the DRM platforms don't have this concern in mind and disregard an appropriate key management life cycle. In this paper, we will analyze some of the open- specification and/or open-source DRM platforms, focusing this analysis on the open DRM platforms key management life cycle, and how this life cycle is implemented on each of them. The results will be presented in a comparative way.","PeriodicalId":358392,"journal":{"name":"Third International Conference on Automated Production of Cross Media Content for Multi-Channel Distribution (AXMEDIS'07)","volume":"324 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115453797","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this purpose, certification, verification, reverification and recertification mechanisms are described, discussing the advantages as well as the drawbacks of using such techniques. A complex use case is presented to complement the description of the proposed mechanisms. To realise the potential of these technologies, it is important to develop platforms and tools that can support the large-scale publishing of interactive paper documents. Consequently, universal multimedia access (UMA) still remains a challenging objective. Context based digital item adaptation (DIA) is seen as a key technology to realise UMA. Scalability options in modern video coding standards provide inherent support for video adaptation. However, it is unlikely that all digital items (DIs) are coded with required scalability options. User centric adaptation adds even more strain on scalability. One such application is to deliver a user defined region of interest (ROI) from a high resolution video to a low resolution terminal. Transcoding is still the solution for such adaptation scenarios. This paper discusses a framework to accomplish such adaptation in H.264 coded video and demonstrates the effectiveness of utilising SKIP mode macroblocks to reduce the transcoding complexity.","PeriodicalId":358392,"journal":{"name":"Third International Conference on Automated Production of Cross Media Content for Multi-Channel Distribution (AXMEDIS'07)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125071387","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are several applications and services that can benefit from such technologies: among them the e- learning is one important candidate. Future and present scenarios of mobile learning applications and the design of new collaboration models in teachers/students interactions are possible fields of application of VoIP technologies. For example, students may be enabled to join a lecture via cell phone wherever the IP network allows linking to video and audio conferencing servers. In this paper the integration of audio and video conferencing tools in a distance education environment is considered and a prototyping implementation is described.
