To satisfy these two properties of hair, we introduce the \"jittering and pseudo-hair model\". The jittering and pseudo-shadows are achieved through the use of a shadow factor. Experimental results show that, with the incorporation of these two properties, hair images look more natural than images do without these properties, thus proving that these two properties do indeed improve the realism of hair images.","PeriodicalId":357548,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Computer Graphics International 2000","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2000-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114714905","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A neural network controls the hand movement. We make use of an optimization method to generate examples for the neural network training. The musical decision of which finger to use is automatically made by best first search. We show that the movements of the violinist's hands are physically and musically feasible, and that the musical decisions are consistent with those recommended in the violin pedagogy. A description of the system, the results of the decisions, and the animations are presented.","PeriodicalId":357548,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Computer Graphics International 2000","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2000-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126376345","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
