The relative position errors of grounding holes are unavoidable because of serial processing of drilling holes. The performances of interdigital bandpass filters with grounding holes of 0.25mm diameter and relative position errors of 0.02mm in the longitudinal or horizontal direction were mainly discussed. The frequency responses were investigated by means of simulation, experiment verification, and theoretical analysis in this paper. The results showed that relative position errors of 0.02mm in different direction had completely different effects on the properties of interdigital bandpass filters. Grounding holes overall shifting 0.02mm in the longitudinal direction leads to the frequency response deterioration about 4dB around 18GHz in the passband of 16-20GHz, because the electrical length of the coupling units is changed. While grounding holes overall shift 0.02mm in the horizontal direction, passband of filter is flat and without obvious frequency response deterioration. At all interpupillary distances (IPD), this technique assures parallelized right and left optics axis of PPB. In this method the left and right optical axis of a PPB are made parallel to each central beam of two “five parallel laser beams alignment devices” in the plane of incidence. And above process is assured by examining the direction of these five transmitted laser beams that transmitted through PPB in the way that the height and orientation of the PPB are fine tuned. The parallelism of the left and right optical axis of the PPB was measured by laser rangefinder. The rain attenuation time series are simulated by ARIMA model at Beijing and Haikou area, at 12.5GHz. The probability of the duration time statistical for rain attenuation series of 50 simulative events is analyzed. A comparion among the results of simulated with measured and ITU-R predicted is done at Beijing and Haikou. It is shown that when duration time is smaller than several hundred second, the statistical results simulated by ARIMA are basically in agreement with the results by measuring and ITU-R predicting, but for the longer duration time, the difference among them is obvious. The helix structure is designed so that the antenna length has a reduction then traditional printed dipole antenna. Some effects of many important parameters on the return loss and gain value of the proposed antenna have been investigated. The designed BGR is analyzed and simulated in CSMC 0.5μm CMOS mixed signal process. When temperature is in the range from -30°C to 75°C, the temperature coefficient of the BGR output voltage V<sub>ref</sub> is only 19ppm/°C. V<sub>ref</sub> has only deviation of 0.29mV when power supply voltage V<sub>DD</sub> changes from 2.5V to 9V. The designed antenna comprises a square radiating patch with H- slot and a ground plane H-conductor plane. Also, it has a small size of 14 mm × 14 mm. The results show that it can operate at a bandwidth of 4.7 GHz-12.2 GHz. Moreover, in the whole band, the antenna basically keeps the same radiation pattern and the average measured gain is 4.8 dBi. Compared with the conventional differential dual-frequency antenna, the split-rectangle ring ground plane is attached on the back,and the two E-shaped microstrip patches with feeding line are printed on the top of the substrate, thus the dimension of the antenna is reduced effectively. The four sunken jaws are introduced into the split-rectangle ring, which can adjust the high resonant band to the operation band(5.5GHz).Then the antenna is fabricated and measured. The realized antenna has a compact size of 14mm×28mm×0.5mm. Experimental results show that the proposed antenna can operate at 2.4 GHz(f1) and 5.5 GHz (f2)bands. The following methods are investigated: an active element pattern control, irregular arrangement of subarrays. A horn antenna element is designed to obtain a perfect active element pattern of an array, and a ring-grid aperiodic array composed of trapezoid subarrays with 1664 elements that are irregular arranged is designed. It is worth mentioning that the combination of these two methods can suppress the grating lobes dramatically in limited-scan phased array.
