Delays in diagnosis, treatment and transportation in pre-hospital emergency health services can lead to high mortality and morbidity outcomes. Cerebrovascular diseases are mostly ischemic and less hemorrhagic. Early recognition of cerebrovascular diseases and the right intervention equipment of pre-hospital emergency health care providers is extremely important for patients. The aim of this review is to review the current information about the prehospital diagnosis and treatment of cerebrovascular diseases in the light of the literature.

Transport of these critically ill patients should be performed in compliance with the protocols developed in accordance with evidence-based medical recommendations. Pre-hospital emergency health workers perform many different types of transplants, and the transfer of infectious patients with contagious diseases requires a special professional approach. Nowadays, SARSCov-19 suspected/+ patient transfers transmitted by droplets and/or contact have been one of the most common types of transport. The transfer of patients with very high potential for transmission and fatal effects, such as SARSCov-19, should be carried out in accordance with the principles of “critical patient” transport. It is more important than ever before that clear plans are made between the parties involved in patient transport and that suspected/+SARSCov-19 cases are accurately identified so that resources are best managed and used and risks to accompanying personnel are reduced. Providing personal protective equipment to the personnel during transport, disinfection and decontamination of the ambulance are of great importance for the safety of pre-hospital emergency health personnel and patients with contact(-)/Covid-19(-). In this review, the principles and recommendations for the safe delivery of emergency aid ambulances and transports of SARS Cov-19 patients are emphasized.

Five hundred health professionals working in the Turkish pre-hospital emergency health system participated in the study. The data were collected online with a 17-question questionnaire applied to the participants. \u0000Results: 64.0% of the participants stated that they could always communicate with the OLMC during the regular period without any problems, 55% of the participants stated that they were not adversely affected by communicating and consulting with the OLMC during the pandemic process, and 74.0% of the participants stated that they were unable to communicate with the OLMC during the pandemic period and that there aren’t situations where they could not perform the medication and/or medical intervention that should be done for the benefit of the patient. It is seen that the pandemic process has less effect on communication and consultation with the OLMC and has less effect on inability to perform a medical intervention, which should be done for the benefit of the patient, in those who have effective communication with the OLMC and can conduct a positive consultation process. \u0000Conclusion: The Covid-19 pandemic process adversely affected the communication between the EMS employee and the OLMC. The data were collected with the survey created in parallel with the literature. \u0000Results: Of the 174 volunteers, 43.7% were male, and 56.3% were female. It seems that the participants were previously exposed to epidemics (37.6%), earthquakes (30.6%), and terrorist assaults (11.1%). When asked about the disaster education status, 48.3% of the participants thought that the education they received would be effective in the case of a disaster, and 46.6% thought it would be partially effective. To the question “did you find yourself sufficient in serving the disaster victims mentioned above,” 58.3% of the workers who thought the disaster training would be effective, 32.1% who thought the disaster training would be partially effective, and 33.3% who thought the disaster training would be ineffective responded as they felt self-efficient in response. Participants who thought the disaster education they received would be effective had the highest rate of self-efficacy in responding to disaster victims. \u0000Conclusion: In all provinces, especially in Batman where the study was conducted, all emergency health care workers' levels of disaster awareness and disaster knowledge should be tested and all necessary education should be given. The education received should be strengthened with regular exercises with the participation of all emergency health care workers and updated by working on the missing details.

This study was designed to evaluate the use of scoring systems by nurses in emergency surgery patients. \u0000Methods: This research was designed as a qualitative study and was carried out in Aydın city center between 30 December 2021 and 06 January 2022. The sample consisted of 14 nurses working in the emergency department and having at least 1 year of experience in emergency surgery/trauma patient care. The data were collected with a personal information form and a semi-structured interview form and analyzed by the content analysis method. \u0000Results: In this study, a total of four main themes and fifteen sub-themes were obtained, including priority in the evaluation of vital signs, opinions on duty and authority, observing the benefit of the patient, and professional competence. It was found that emergency room nurses only used the Glasgow Coma Scale, and some nurses did not realize that this assessment was used as a scoring method. \u0000Conclusion: It is seen that emergency nurses give priority to the evaluation of vital signs while evaluating patients, but they do not sufficiently benefit from early warning scoring systems in the evaluations. It is recommended that in-service training programs be regularly repeated, critical patient care should be taught practically in realistic environments during undergraduate education, and policies should be developed for experienced nurses to mentor nurses new to the emergency department.
