This standard was prepared and officially issued in 1995, and has been effective until today (May 2023). Subsequently, two draft revisions related to wind loads were prepared in 2006 and 2009.The applications of design practices have demonstrated the limitations of TCVN 2737:1995.Therefore, Vietnam Ministry of Construction has asked the Vietnam Institute for Building Science & Technology (IBST) to carefully revise TCVN 2737:1995 and to prepare the new TCVN 2737:202x to meet the present and future requirements for design of buildings and structures as well as to harmonise with the region and the world. Hence, the draft standard TCVN 2737:202x Loads and Actions has been prepared since 2017 and has been uploaded to the IBST website [3] to receive feedbacks and opinions from designers, engineers and experts. This draft is expected to be approved and officially published to replace the current standard TCVN 2737:1995. In the draft of this new standard, there are many contents, including wind load provisions. Thus, there have been few studies on wind flow and its effects on wind-permeable structures, and there is no provision for these structures in the major international wind load standards and codes. Unlike wind loading on building roofs, wind loading on porous sunshade roof cover sheets is a combination of wind pressures on both the upper and lower surfaces, which complicates the calculation of wind loading. From the viewpoint of structural design, we need a simple method for determining wind loading on these structures. Wind tunnel tests have been carried out for various wind angles, three porosities (ratio between area of orifices and area of sheet), and five gaps between sheet and roof, and results have been analyzed. As a result, the author proposes a simple formula for calculating wind loading on porous sunshade roof cover sheets from wind loadings on normal building roofs available from wind loading codes and standards. The calculated results based on this formula and the Japanese wind loading standard (AIJ-RFLB (2015))[4] are compared with those of wind tunnel tests. Current identification methods can be divided into several groups: single-degree-of-freedom and multi-degrees-of-freedom methods; time domain identification, frequency domain identification. In which, the simultaneous determination of many natural frequencies of the structure from a single measurement data remains a complicated problem, in particular in the presence of noise. The article develops the rational fraction polynomial method using combined measurements in the frequency domain to identify the natural frequencies of structures. The bracing system is one of the most effective and reliable solutions in seismic-resistant design for frame structures. In this study, the step-by-step of design for a bracing system according to the displacement-based design method is detailed. A typical study is performed on a steel-braced frame structure, subjected to earthquake ground motion to evaluate the effectiveness of the solution. The authors performed theoretical and experimental calculations on the bearing capacity of three pairs of beams (salinated sand beams – clean sand beams) corresponding to concrete with strength levels B20, B30 and B45. Concrete with salt-contaminated sand aggregates using corrosion inhibitors and reinforced steel is coated with epoxy coating with thickness 175±18µm. Saline sand aggregates Thuan An - Hue, Tra Khuc - Quang Ngai and Bai Dai - Van Don (Quang Ninh), clean sand aggregates are Song Lo yellow sand. These new products have been demonstrated to save time and cost in manufacturing. The design of the cold-rolled aluminium members has been not regulated by any standards in the world. Research studies on behaviors and strengths of these members, therefore, have been carried out and original results on cold-rolled aluminium channel columns undergoing global buckling have been obtained. These studies were conducted in Australia. Therefore, the paper will collect these study results on cold-rolled aluminium channel columns, and these results are subsequently compared with the capacities from the Australian Aluminium Standard. The comparisons are carried out by using the reliability analysis as regulated in the American Aluminum Specification; this will be the base to evaluate the Australian/New Zealand Aluminium Standard in the design of cold-rolled aluminium alloy channel columns undergoing global buckling. Currently, when analysis and design this structure type under earthquake loading, almost documents and standards recomment to use response spectrum method, without much mention of the time-history method. This paper presented the method to evaluate the behavior of sheet pile quay wall using time-history method including liquefaction of soil by PLAXIS 2D program. The analysis was conducted based on the Vietnam standard and some foreign standards.
