The second method provides an insight into the project system dynamics by performing coloured Petri net (CPN) simulation based on the model of project system obtained by the first method. The focus is on the unique conversion of the MDM method to CPN, where the static system description of the MDM method was expanded by the capabilities of the dynamic system description of the CPN method. The objective was to evaluate an effective technique to analyse a complex project system of software development, which enables detailed planning and optimal management to shorten the production cycle of the appropriate quality with the lowest cost.","PeriodicalId":34959,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Simulation and Process Modelling","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48358462","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The traffic congestion is the most acute problem. One of the main causes of traffic congestion is the unreasonable scheme of traffic signal timing at road intersections. In view of the limitation of Webster algorithm, we combine the artificial fish swarm algorithm, chaos search and feedback strategy based on the optimisation theory of the signal timing problem to solve this problem. Furthermore, we apply the algorithm to the field of the traffic signal control. We set the average of vehicle delays and parking numbers as the target and improve the target road intersection timing scheme by using the optimisation algorithm. This method enhances the capacity of the target intersection effectively. Taking the condition of the target road intersection and the basic data into consideration, we construct the simulation model of the road intersection through the VISSIM simulation modelling tool. Then we import the relevant data and obtain a new timing plan which sets a new cycle and the green light duration of each phase. Compared to the original method, the algorithm based on the artificial fish-swarm is feasible and effective.","PeriodicalId":34959,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Simulation and Process Modelling","volume":"26 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74435917","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These reactors are often operated at reduced flow rates in order to maintain a high retention time, and reduce shear stress on the biomass. An important factor is the mixing between biomass and substrate, and thus the maintenance of turbulence is important. Hence, the aim of this work is the application of the CFD technique to obtain a better understanding of the turbulent behaviour in an anaerobic sequencing batch reactor, with a nominal Reynolds number of about 1,700. This study considered a single-phase approach to evaluate several turbulence models. The obtained results indicate that the flow has little influence on the regions in the transition regime for the conditions evaluated, in spite of the low Reynolds number. Moreover, comparing the use of different models, it was found that the Reynolds stress model does not require longer time for its calculations.","PeriodicalId":34959,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Simulation and Process Modelling","volume":"11 1","pages":"66"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1504/IJSPM.2016.075081","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"66762497","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the mathematical model of conductance sensor was established, and using the finite element analysis software ANSYS the finite element model was obtained. The analysis of output response characteristics of the sensor was performed with reference to different non-uniform mediums. The spatial sensitivity distribution was also investigated, and its spatial filtering effect was analysed quantitatively. On this basis the frequency response characteristics function was derived. With the optimised six-electrode conductance sensor, a two-phase flow measurement system was designed for oil well logging; and the experiments were performed. The results indicate that the measurement error of water volume fraction is ±3%, and the flow axial velocity can resolve the flowrate difference with 2 m3/d.","PeriodicalId":34959,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Simulation and Process Modelling","volume":"7 1","pages":"98-106"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1504/IJSPM.2012.047864","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"66762457","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is currently used in the development of the Task Model (TM) associated with a Business Process (BP) definition by using UML, enriched with temporal annotations in CSP + T, as the main modelling language.
