Since a growing number of corporations and the services they offer, are playing a vital role in upholding the economic development of the country, this research has been undertaken to comprehend the need for internal branding and its implications in the service sector of the country. The study attempts the importance and contribution of employees for the success of branding interventions. This qualitative research has been pursued by collecting primary data through semistructured questionnaire survey with a sample size of 103 professionals in the service sector of the country. The analysis was conducted using SPSS 20.0 that incorporated basic descriptive statistics and crosstab. The analysis reveals that, employee’s perceptions about the internal branding practices are influenced by the management interventions and employee’s knowledge about the brands of the organization. In this regard, effective internal branding practices also have an impact on the brand performance. Thus the study adds value in the present literature by highlighting the internal branding insights for the employees and indicates the scope of future study on assessing the inter-connections between employee’s brand values and the external branding practices of the organization. A total of 1,000 military personnel (Army, Navy, and Air Force) in South Korea completed questionnaires related to witnessing violence between parents, perpetration of violence in the military, and tolerance of violence. Data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 for descriptive statistics, frequency, t-test, and Poisson regression, and the results are as follows. First, approximately 26.2% of participants responded to having witnessed parental violence. Second, the effect of witnessing parental violence on perpetration of violence was statistically significant, and third, the mediating effect of tolerance of violence on perpetration of violence in the military was verified. Based on the results of this study, we discuss practical and policy-based interventions for witnessing parental violence and perpetration of violence in the military.","PeriodicalId":345426,"journal":{"name":"Eighth Intl. The developed Model is a global multi-country dynamic computable general equilibrium model (CGE model) which was built based on the known static CGE model Globe 1. The assessment of the fulfillment of the conditions for transferring the results of computational experiments based on the Model was carried out both by the approach of the parametric control theory and by other known methods. The problems of dynamic optimization that allow solving these macroeconomic problems at the level of individual countries, the economic union and the world economy were solved based on the Model, with methods of the parametric control theory. The greater benefit from joint concerted actions to solve the problems under consideration in comparison with the corresponding solutions of such problems at the level of individual regions (countries) is corroborated. Bornman","doi":"10.15224/978-1-63248-156-6-20","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.15224/978-1-63248-156-6-20","url":null,"abstract":"In an emerging market such as South African, corporate governing bodies such as the King Code legitimise and promote ethical codes and their importance in organisations (South African Institute of Chartered Accountants, 2017:11-12). As employees have frequent customer interactions, and the quality of these interaction directly affect the customer‟s perception of the organisation; an aspect such as ethical leadership should not be ignored as it greatly affects employees which in turn impacts organisational performance. Bornman and Puth (2017:6) identified four main aspects of what leadership is: (1) it is about who you are, (2) how you act, (3) what you do, and (4) how a leader works with others. Ethical leadership fuses these principles together and includes the fair treatment of employees, integrity and setting ethical guidelines (Yukl, Mahsud, Hassan & Prussia, 2013:38; Yang & Wei, 2018), and according to Shin, Sung, Choi and Kim (2015:45), employees learn ethical behavior from their leaders. The purpose of this qualitative study was to examine employees‟ perceptions of the relationship between ethical leadership and selected employee outcomes (i.e. (1) organisational commitment, (2) job satisfaction, (3) employee satisfaction and (4) extra effort). For leaders, the study highlights the importance of leading ethically due to the effect on the selected employee outcomes. The employee outcomes in turn then have an effect an organisation‟s performance through the quality of the organisation‟s products, services and customer service. The study collected data through twelve semistructured interviews which were one-on-one, and were conducted at twelve different organisations in Gauteng, South Africa. By asking open-ended questions, participants were able to voice their experiences in their own words, in the true sense. Open-ended questions prevented the participants from falling victim to potential researcher bias, but instead allow them to freely answer the questions posed (Creswell, 2012:218). The data collected during the study was analysed using a thematic analysis which is a process of identifying, organising and reporting on themes from data collected (Braun & Clarke, 2012:57). In terms of determining whether or not employees imitate their leaders‟ behaviour, the study found that most employees base their behaviour on their own morals regardless of how ethical they perceive their leaders to be. Therefore, most employees do not imitate their leaders‟ behaviour which contradicts literature of Keskes, Sallan, Simo and Fernandez (2018); Kim and Brymer (2011:1021); Shin et al. (2015:45); Yidong and Xinxin (2013:442) as the vast majority of employees did not want to compromise their own morals. In the study, it is also ascertained in which cases employees may imitate their leader‟s behaviour, and how this will have certain managerial implication, as well as, limitations and recommendations for future research and practice.","PeriodicalId":345426,"journal":{"name":"Eighth Intl. Although the prevalence of military violence and suicidal ideation of soldiers is high, limited research has been carried out on the relationship between military violence and suicidal ideation among them. Data from 1,000 army, navy and air force enlisted soldiers were obtained from a nationwide survey in 2016. Descriptive analysis and Poisson regression analysis were conducted using SPSS 24.0. Due to a skewed distribution of the prevalence of suicidal ideation, this study applied a zero-inflated Poisson (ZIP) model, which has been shown to address issues of skewed count variables. The results showed that 175 soldiers (17.6%) were revealed to be the victims of verbal or physical violence. At the same time, 17.9% of military violence victims experienced suicidal ideation, whereas 4.2% of non-victimized soldiers had suicidal ideation. Although military violence had statistically relationship with suicidal problem among the victimized soldiers, further analysis showed that parent-child positive communication worked as a moderator between military violence and suicidal ideation (B = -.586, SE = .263, p <.001). Results suggest that the pragmatic and political interventions are needed to reduce military violence. Intervention strategies to address the victimized soldiers’ suicidal ideation are discussed as well.","PeriodicalId":345426,"journal":{"name":"Eighth Intl. Conf. It should not be ignored in business marketing. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between color in a dining environment and appetite sensation. Furthermore, one of the controversial problems in color psychology, the gender difference, had also been discussed in this study. To study that, data were collected from the subjects who viewed eight color tuned 360-degree photos in the headset during a sensory evaluation test. Result from 50 subjects showed that black, white, red and yellow were the appetitive colors, while green was the opposite. Besides this, there was no significant difference in gender. As an exploratory study, it provides an additional insight into how color in a dining environment influences customer’s appetite and further direction in academia. Our study addresses the ongoing shift in values and the kind of individual consumer demand that has to be met by providing innovative and flexible concepts for future transport. In particular, we call into question what challenges need to be faced, when various new technologies and business models are integrated. Our qualitative approach is based on the use of semi-structured interviews with representatives from a traditional car manufacturer. By investigating the expectations and actions of different stakeholders from an organizational perspective we find important predictions concerning the inevitable changes in consumer behavior and consequently in organizational strategy. It becomes clear that one of the key challenges is an appropriate steering system to motivate innovation activities and enhance creativity in order to ensure long-term success in an increasingly competitive market environment.
