Three research questions and three null hypotheses guided the study. The study adopted a quasi-experimental research design, precisely non-equivalent control group design. Simple random and Purposive sampling techniques were used to select a sample of 157 SS2 physics students for the study. Thermal Conceptual and Traditional Physics Exercises (TCTPE), which has twenty (20) items, was used to collect data for the study. Three experts in Department of Science Education, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, validated the instrument. Two reliability estimates confirmed the reliability of the instrument (TCTPE). The first tested the temporal stability and the second, the internal consistency of the TCTPE. The estimated values of 0.76 and 0.82 were obtained. The data obtained for the study were analyzed using frequencies, percentages, mean and standard deviation. Also, Analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) and Chi-square were used to test the null hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. Findings of the study revealed that item-teaching technique increase students’ achievement (or test) score in Traditional Physics Exercises in Heat and Vapour. However, there is no statistically significant difference in the mean achievement score of students given traditional physics exercises in heat and vapours under curriculum and item-teaching techniques. Meanwhile, students under curriculum teaching techniques had higher Conceptual Understanding mean score in heat and vapours, compared to their counterpart under item-teaching techniques. Finally, it was revealed that majority of students under curriculum teaching techniques were on scientific/conceptual understanding level, compared to their counterpart under item-teaching techniques where a very small number of students were on Scientific/Conceptual Understanding level. The study therefore, recommends that Physics teachers should teach to the curriculum for scientific/conceptual understanding of Senior Secondary School Students.","PeriodicalId":344221,"journal":{"name":"Integrity Journal of Education and Training","volume":"62 2","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114011256","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A descriptive survey design was used for the study. The population that was used for this study was the entire single and married female gender in Jalingo Local Government. The sample for the study which comprised ninety (90) females and ninety (90) female producing women making 180 respondents altogether were randomly selected from educational centres, recreational centres, as well as marketplaces within the Local Government. The instrument that was used for data collection was a self-designed instrument titled “Male Child Syndrome on Female social Adjustment Questionnaire (MCPSAQ)”. Cronbach's Alpha reliability test was used to determine the reliability coefficient. The reliability result of .996 shows that the instrument was reliable for data collection. Descriptive statistics of mean and standard deviation were used to answer the research questions. The findings showed that male child preference negatively influences the social adjustment of female producing women in Jalingo Local Government. It was therefore recommended among others that government and non-governmental organizations should mount a serious campaign against the practice of male child syndrome using jingles, public enlightenment, and the declaration of an international day for female producing women.","PeriodicalId":344221,"journal":{"name":"Integrity Journal of Education and Training","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128895183","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Specifically, the study sought to determine the existing human resource management practices and to examine the perception of teachers on human resource management practices. Descriptive survey and quantitative research approach were adopted in this study. A sample of 90 teachers and 30 management staff were selected using simple random and census sampling techniques respectively. Two sets of questionnaires were used in gathering data. Descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviations and frequency count) were the statistical tools that were used to analyse the data. The study revealed that job instruction and promotions were highly practised in the schools. However, seminars, coaching, job assignments, fringe benefits, job security, conducive working environment, recognition, participation and autonomy were not prioritised as human resource practices in the schools. It was also found that a majority of teachers had low perception of the human resource management practices. It is recommended that management of the senior high schools be given the appropriate training on effective implementation of human resource management practices so that they can positively influence the performance of employees and improve their perception on these practices.","PeriodicalId":344221,"journal":{"name":"Integrity Journal of Education and Training","volume":"149 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122350791","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, the relationship between parental availability and aggression in the twenty-first century among adolescents in Nnewi North Local Government Area (LGA) Anambra State, Nigeria was investigated. Two research questions guided the study. The researchers adopted a correlation research design. The sample for study comprised of 800 respondents randomly selected from eight (8) secondary schools in the LGA. The instruments for data collection were adopted questionnaire on aggression and questionnaire for parental availability designed by the researchers and validated by two experts in test construction. The reliability of the instrument was determined using Cronbach alpha statistics with an index of 0.78 for parental availability and 0.85 for aggression. Pearson correlation was used to analyse the collected data. The results of the study revealed that parental availability (communication and supervision) reduced aggression among adolescents. It was therefore concluded that establishing a strong parent adolescent relationship in the families could be an immeasurable help in raising well-adjusted and successful adolescents. It was recommended that parents should always have in mind the need for family attachment and as such provide opportunity for family meeting where they will listen to their children’ views and give them corrections and some pieces of advice where necessary. In addition, parents are to visit their children’s schools from time to time to meet their teachers who will help them in assessing their behaviours.","PeriodicalId":344221,"journal":{"name":"Integrity Journal of Education and Training","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134078671","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
