Finally, this discipline plays a strategic role for organizational excellence, fundamental to face competitive challenges such as globalization, the use of new technologies and intellectual capital. The articulation of Organizational Sociology with Knowledge Management can improve customer service and the relationship with stakeholders, increase employee autonomy, attract and retain the best employees, facilitate obtaining information and creating new knowledge. As a result, it uses the dispersed intelligence in the organization, adopts better quality decisions, creates operational processes and promotes the integration of the islands of knowledge existing in the organization.
