The evaluation of vegetable production was based on a comparative analysis of the level and changes in land area devoted to crops, yields, the number of farms and the average area of crops on the farm, the species structure of crops, the level of basic vegetable yields, and the resources of the factors of vegetable farm production from the FADN system. The research has shown that Poland’s high and growing position in vegetable production results mainly from the high acreage of crops, their partially complementary structure, and above all from relatively low labour costs compared to other surveyed EU countries. On the other hand, the improvement of effectiveness is not supported by the large fragmentation of Polish farms, although an increase in the average area of cultivation per farm was observed in the examined period. The research shows that in most of the analysed countries there was still a large fragmentation of vegetable farms. The analysis of vegetable farm inputs (on the basis of FADN data) in selected countries also shows that in the analysed period, a decrease in production factor resources was observed in Poland, Italy and France.","PeriodicalId":34287,"journal":{"name":"Acta Scientiarum Polonorum Oeconomia","volume":"20 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89394523","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main objective of the study is to identify the areas in which EU projects were implemented by the Szczebrzeszyn commune in Poland in 2014–2020. In addition, the study analyzes the opinions of the commune inhabitants on the legitimacy of investments implemented with EU funds, in the context of the socio-economic development of the commune and improvement of the quality of life. A CAWI survey was conducted among the inhabitants of the municipality, and the changes that have occurred due to the EU funding were analyzed. Most respondents noticed the development within the Szczebrzeszyn municipality in the last ten years. The use of EU funds allowed to increase the length of the sewage network and bicycle path, as well as to install solar collectors and photovoltaic panels. The respondents claimed that some of the projects positively impacted their quality of life.","PeriodicalId":34287,"journal":{"name":"Acta Scientiarum Polonorum Oeconomia","volume":"51 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89016714","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its primary goal is to identify smart shopping attitudes and behaviours of young people. The study consists of two parts: theoretical and empirical. The first part explains the concept and essence of smart shopping as a consumer trend, building upon a critical analysis of literature. The second, major part is empirical. The inference is based on the research material obtained through research carried out by the author by means of the survey method, an online survey technique using a questionnaire survey among young Polish singles. Undertaking such a research project is justified since smart shopping tendencies have a direct impact on purchase decisions of young consumers, while making it easier for businesses to develop marketing strategies.","PeriodicalId":34287,"journal":{"name":"Acta Scientiarum Polonorum Oeconomia","volume":"175 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82966255","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Media outlets, brokers, financial institutions and the business environment are now referring, more than ever, to investment policies not only of companies, but also of individuals with sustainable economic capital. Platforms such as Forex, e-Toro, Capital.com, Libertex, cryptocurrency trading platforms and free access to the Stock Exchange now make it extremely easy for third-party investors, with promises of significant returns in a very short period of time. But are all these exhortations and “marketing guns” directed at individuals’ finances devoid of speculative interest? The purpose of this paper is to identify a model of bankruptcy risk estimation that is based on the opinions of audit companies regarding the reasonableness of annual financial statements and their associated fraud risk. This paper presents an empirical approach to the insolvency phenomenon, based on the opinions of the auditors who classify the audited companies as having an associated fraud risk. The study was conducted at the level of companies on the main trading market of the Bucharest Stock Exchange. The results show that an audited company as having classified by auditors as an associated fraud risk is at least one step closer to bankruptcy, as opposed to companies without an assessed risk of associated fraud. The ability of audit companies to contribute to bankruptcy risk estimation models by flagging fraud risk, based on analysis of financial statements, represents a recurring problem in the specialized literature. This paper brings added value in establishing viable models of bankruptcy risk for big companies on the market.","PeriodicalId":34287,"journal":{"name":"Acta Scientiarum Polonorum Oeconomia","volume":"40 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76181726","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research was conducted with the use of CAWI techniques on a sample of 260 Polish consumers from Generation Z. With use of the Lance-Williams-Ward’s agglomerative methods, three homogenous groups of Gen Z consumers were identified on the basis of self-evaluation of ecological behaviour and on the behaviour of their surrounding environment (household and friends), i.e. pro-ecological, ecological, and non-ecological. By means of non-parametric analysis of variances (Kruskal-Wallis test) and post hoc analysis, the significance of differences in the values of the analyzed variables was assessed, indicating differences in the ecological behaviors of the selected groups. The results of the analysis show that there are differences in the frequency of ecological behaviours that are undertaken within the selected groups.","PeriodicalId":34287,"journal":{"name":"Acta Scientiarum Polonorum Oeconomia","volume":"8 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81991600","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For the export diversification, three variables were used: export product diversification, export margin and import margin. A cointegration relationship was determined for all models in the study. Export product diversification and import margin long-run coefficients were found to be statistically significant and positive. This means that export diversification increases environmental degradation. GDP and economic complexity are additional factors that negatively impact the environment. In contrast, urbanization reduces CO2 emissions. Based on the empirical results, this paper recommends innovative solutions and regulations for eco-friendly industrial manufacturing. European Union environmental policies should be strictly adopted by the member countries in order to reduce emissions.","PeriodicalId":34287,"journal":{"name":"Acta Scientiarum Polonorum Oeconomia","volume":"139 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86707646","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper was written on the basis of secondary and primary sources of information. Direct research was conducted using the technique of an online survey on a sample of 620 representatives of households living in Poland in 2021. The results obtained indicate that households most often have house electronic devices, i.e., smart TVs and multimedia players. As for household appliances, most respondents possessed a smart vacuum cleaner, followed by a washing machine and a refrigerator. The most popular smart home automation devices are lighting (light bulbs) and heating (thermostats). The main advantage of using smart devices is to facilitate everyday activities by controlling devices from anywhere, whereas the reason why households do not purchase such devices is their high price and no need to possess them.","PeriodicalId":34287,"journal":{"name":"Acta Scientiarum Polonorum Oeconomia","volume":"13 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81498166","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The concept of smart villages implies saving villages and their inhabitants, protecting cultural heritage and using local potentials to meet modern challenges. In its initial stages, it requires activities of all stakeholders, from individuals living in the rural area in question to decision-makers participating in identifying the strengths, threats, opportunities, and weaknesses of a certain rural area. Apart from the theoretical definition of smart villages, this paper aims to analyse European regulations of smart villages, and to define the challenges and smart village traps in rural development and ways in which they can be prevented.","PeriodicalId":34287,"journal":{"name":"Acta Scientiarum Polonorum Oeconomia","volume":"6 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84816941","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
