Recently, we proposed the interference-aware channel segregation based dynamic channel assignment (IACS-DCA). Stable channel reuse pattern can be formed in a distributed manner which can minimize the CCI experienced at access points (APs) or base stations (BSs). In this paper, we introduce a multi-channel access technique for the IACS-DCA. Each AP has channel priority table, in which the channels are listed by the ascending order of average CCI power. Original IACS-DCA assumes the single channel access using the first priority channel with the lowest average CCI power. By using multiple channels at the same time in the descending priority order, more number of users can access an AP. However, the use of channels below the first orders at the same time increases the CCI and may make the channel reuse pattern unstable. We examine, by computer simulation, the channel reuse pattern and confirm that the IACS-DCA improves the signal-to-interference power ratio (SIR) even with multi-channel access compared to the conventional quasi-DCA using multi-channel access.","PeriodicalId":342639,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126130452","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One inherent drawback of multicast transmission is that in order to guarantee the quality of service for each mobile user, the transmitter needs to adapt its data rate to the user(s) with worst channel condition in a multicast group. Therefore, power consumption could be seriously arisen. In order to address this problem, in this work we propose an energy efficient framework called Multicast Support Multicast (MSM) and examine its energy saving performance. The proposed MSM can dynamically use an extra channel as an additional support for traditional multicast transmission, by which power consumption of transmitter can be reduced. Moreover, through formulating optimization problem, we also discuss user grouping scheme that allows us to obtain the optimal energy saving gain. Numerical examples are presented to illustrate the proposed scheme and to show the performance gains obtained by employing additional multicast channel(s) and optimal user grouping.","PeriodicalId":342639,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129640873","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As energy consumption is an important issue for mobile secondary users operating on batteries, it is reasonable for these secondary users to be energy-sensitive. In this paper, we utilize contract theory to deal with the cooperative spectrum sharing problem under the condition of secondary users being energy-sensitive. In our scheme, primary user wishes to benefit from cooperative communication with secondary users and selling spectrum access opportunities on the premise of not degrading its own performance. Primary user's objective is to design an optimal contract that maximizes its utility and offer it to secondary users. Secondary users are classified into different types according to their characteristics. We analyze the optimal contract design problem under symmetric and asymmetric information scenarios and propose a low complexity algorithm called TSSOA to find the optimal contract for primary user. Finally, we present and analyze the numerical results, which confirm the efficiency of the proposed scheme.","PeriodicalId":342639,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127840639","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In particular, the mobile node, e.g, the high-speed train(HST), is equipped with multiple antennas by which it finds the target base station (BS) quickly with only receive beamforming. When only imperfect channel state information (CSI) is available, the output signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the receive beamformer will be interfered by signals from different nearby BSs, which may lead to possible error in the selection of target BS. To deal with this, two methods, i.e., maximum-ratio combining (MRC) and Minimum Mean Square Error (MMSE), are proposed to obtain the optimal beamforming vectors. Simulation results show that both the proposed methods perform well, and the MMSE approach has good robustness.","PeriodicalId":342639,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121003517","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Link scheduling and nonlinear power control problem are analyzed based on the physical interference model and a distributed algorithm is designed to accomplish the rate allocation and the link scheduling. The algorithm is tested in the case that users randomly arrive at and depart the network following the Poisson Process. Simulation results verify that the network is stable with the proposed algorithm, by which the data rate of each user injected into the network is computed.","PeriodicalId":342639,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing","volume":"133 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124437505","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we propose a bit-level LR-aided MIMO detector whose performance can approach that of the maximum a posteriori (MAP) detector for iterative detection and decoding in coded MIMO systems, where a priori information is taken into account for soft-decisions. Furthermore, the proposed method can be extended to large dimensional MIMO systems by channel decomposition and successive interference cancellation (SIC), by which a significant complexity reduction can be achieved. Through simulations and complexity analysis, it is shown that a near-optimal performance is obtained by our proposed low-complexity bit-level LR-aided detector for iterative MIMO receivers.","PeriodicalId":342639,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124536912","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The energy function mainly consists of three components. One part ensures injection of more correlated detailed spatial information using total variation method. Another part preserves the spectral information through L1 norm based on data fitting term. The third part is consisted of three convex constrained conditions, which ensure that the result is proper. Because the energy function is non-smooth, we use the split Bregman algorithm to solve it. Experimental result demonstrates the superiority of the proposed method over some classical methods.","PeriodicalId":342639,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121242244","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Different with the conventional ones, all modules in the shuffled-turbo receiver work simultaneously. Improved hardware utilization and processing efficiency are achieved owing to this workflow. Besides, our receiver can adaptively support various scenarios with flexible bandwidth configurations. Simulation results show that with preset processing latency in the LTE downlink system, the proposed shuffled-turbo receiver can achieve better performance than the conventional MMSE-ISDIC iterative receiver since the shuffled one can complete more outer-iterations.","PeriodicalId":342639,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing","volume":"86 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122662387","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the cross-tier and co-tier interference are the key issues in two-tier femtocell networks. This paper treats the downlink interference problem in orthogonal frequency-division multiple-access (OFDMA) femtocell networks with partial cochannel deployment. We first propose an cross-tier interference mitigation strategy without power control among femtocell users by forcing the femto-interfering macrocell users to occupy the dedicated subcarriers. The non-interfering macrocell users, on the other hand, can use either the dedicated subcarriers, or the shared subcarriers which are also occupied by the femtocell users. Then, to mitigate the interference from macrocell base station (MBS) to femtocell users (FUs), a joint power and subcarrier allocation model based on minimizing transmit power is formulated. Furthermore, to improve the macrocell network performance, the resource allocation model based on maximizing throughput is proposed. At last, we devise a subcarrier allocation scheme to mitigate co-tier interference among femtocells. The results show that the partial cochannel scheme is the trade-off between transmit power and outage compared with cochannel and orthogonal deployment. Moreover macrocell can achieve the maximum throughput under the proposed partial cochannel deployment.","PeriodicalId":342639,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117112226","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since macrocell users' quality of service (QoS) have the highest priority to be maintained, which is severely affected by the cross-tier interference. Therefore power control is considered as the most effective solution, where the power of the femto base stations (FBSs) in the downlink is adjusted such that the interference caused to macrocell user is kept under an acceptable level. In this paper, we model this scenario as Stackelberg game, where the macrocell protects its users by imposing price on each FBS causing the interference, considering FBSs are under maximum transit power constraint. Most of the previous research works are based on iterative methods to achieve Stackelberg equilibrium (SE) for solving the problem. In this paper, we present a unique closed form solution to the Stackelberg game based on convex optimization method considering some assumptions. The numerical results are presented to verify the proposed study and performance enhancement of both the macro and femto users.","PeriodicalId":342639,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115856686","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
