Concerning different specific approaches to business models we have selected a structure that helps the understanding of the main elements of a business model and also its specificity for renewable energy. The business models based on added value and the innovation as main added value represent the core of this chapter. The global trend to clean energy, to a low carbon economy and the related new technologies and new life standards represent opportunities that could be used by entrepreneurs in order to develop and implement new business ideas. The process of business ideas development is analyzed starting with creativity technics and it also includes also innovative measures to protect new business ideas. The main objective of this chapter is to understand the importance of business models and to know how to develop a business model with its specificity for the renewable energy field.","PeriodicalId":342576,"journal":{"name":"Research Anthology on Clean Energy Management and Solutions","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128753015","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite the new business opportunities for software vendors and user companies that arise from this work area, most ERP systems still only offer limited functionality for energy management. This article attempts to demonstrate these opportunities by a description of corresponding use-cases. Also, technical considerations for the integration of energy management functionalities into an ERP system are described with a focus on a system coupling approach. The intended extension is achieved by coupling a dedicated energy management information system to the ERP system. The coupling approach is exemplified through a demonstration that consists of an extended version of the abas ERP system which has been on the market for more than 30 years.","PeriodicalId":342576,"journal":{"name":"Research Anthology on Clean Energy Management and Solutions","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130764628","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the energy reserves in Turkey are insufficient for the increasing energy demand. For this reason, the need for alternative energy sources has emerged. The fact that fossil fuels used in energy production will be exhausted and their damaging effects on the environment has made it inevitable for the world to use renewable energy. In Turkey, the following are the main energy sources used in electricity production: hydraulic sources, brown coal, natural gas, coal and fuel oil. The use of renewable energy sources in electricity production has shown a considerable development in the world over the past few decades. However, these energy resources have yet to be exploited to any large extent in Turkey. In this chapter, the range of potential renewable energy resources available for electricity production in Turkey will be analyzed in order to determine the necessary technical substructure to make these renewable energy resources more attractive.","PeriodicalId":342576,"journal":{"name":"Research Anthology on Clean Energy Management and Solutions","volume":"229 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133169118","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is very significant that this growing demand should be satisfied with a safe and accessible energy source. Because of this issue, it is thought that countries should be directed towards renewable energy sources so that these countries can meet their rising energy demand without increasing their energy imports. This chapter aims to identify the causal relationship between the use of renewable energy and energy imports. Within this framework, the data between 1990 and 2015 of E7 countries (Brazil, China, Indonesia, India, Mexico, Russia, and Turkey) is taken into the consideration by using the Pedroni panel cointegration method and the Dumitrescu Hurlin panel causality analysis. Results show that there is a long-term relationship between energy imports and renewable energy usage, but there is no causal relationship between energy imports and renewable energy usage. This situation gives information that the use of renewable energy is important and effective in order to reduce imports, but using only this method is not sufficient to remove the import problem for these countries.","PeriodicalId":342576,"journal":{"name":"Research Anthology on Clean Energy Management and Solutions","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130512965","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This article covers Swarm Intelligence Algorithm, i.e., grasshopper optimization algorithm (GOA) which is based on the social communication nature of the grasshopper, applied to renewable energy based economic and emission dispatch problems. Based on Weibull probability density function (W-pdf), the stochastic wind speed including optimization problem is numerically solved for a 2 renewable wind energy incorporating 6 and 14 thermal units for 3 different loads. Moreover, to improve the solution superiority and convergence speed, quasi oppositional based learning (QOBL) is included with the main GOA algorithm. The performance of GOA and QOGOA is evaluated and the simulation results as well as statistical results obtained by these methods along with different other algorithms available in the literature are presented to demonstrate the validity and effectiveness of the proposed GOA and QOGOA schemes for practical applications.","PeriodicalId":342576,"journal":{"name":"Research Anthology on Clean Energy Management and Solutions","volume":"420 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116563441","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

International Energy Outlook 2017 forecasts that energy consumption in non-OECD countries would increase by 41% between 2015 and 2040 in contrast to a 9% increase in OECD countries. The chapter focuses on two major areas: (1) examining the changing pattern of the composition of energy use in the two selected countries of Asia (India and China) and (2) examining the short-run and long-run relationship among energy use, GDP per capita, energy intensity, use of electricity power, extent of urbanization. Using ARDL bound test for the period 1990 to 2014 for the World Development Indicator data 2017-18, it reveals that the powerhouses of global energy demand growth are led by the developing economies of Asia (i.e., China, India, Indonesia, Morocco, Brazil, Singapore, and Thailand). In the case of India, a long-run association has been found between energy use and GDP per capita, energy intensity, use of electricity power, and extent of urbanization, but no instances are for China.","PeriodicalId":342576,"journal":{"name":"Research Anthology on Clean Energy Management and Solutions","volume":"46 9","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134260437","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Construction of buildings plays a significant role in pollution. To reduce the harmful effects in constructing buildings, it is necessary to move on to sustainable architecture. In this chapter, different advantages and standards for green buildings will be discussed. Different organizations are contributing towards a green environment. There are even different sensors that are able to detect wastage of energy and can predict the requirement of energy. Machine learning, a hot topic these days, can also play its role in demand prediction. In this chapter, role of network communication and sensing to optimize the energy of green buildings and machine learning-based demand prediction to optimize the energy of green buildings are discussed. Further predicting energy harvesting from weather forecasts, return on investment of green buildings, and potential benefits of energy-efficient green buildings are also discussed.","PeriodicalId":342576,"journal":{"name":"Research Anthology on Clean Energy Management and Solutions","volume":"133 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114662451","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this context, a green flagship of some hotels can be an important selection criteria at the time of selecting one. In the near future, buildings should become nearly zero energy, consuming as low as possible and producing almost all the energy they need, using renewable energy sources. To achieve this goal, hotel buildings need to pass through a transformation process that will make them more efficient. In this process, a decision support platform would be important to help hoteliers monitor their energy consumption, identify which points are consuming more than expected, decide which investments are more cost effective and manage their equipment in an optimum way. Transport sector energy demand witnesses a noticeable increase, growing by almost three times, from 125 Mtoe in 2012 to about 360 Mtoe in 2018. India has a vast supply of renewable energy resources, and it has one of the largest programs in the world for deploying renewable energy products and systems. The share of oil has in particular fallen from 36% to 33%, while that of natural gas has increased from 23% to 24%, and that of renewable energy (including nuclear and large hydro) has gone up from 12.5% to 14% in the period 2005-15. Sustainable development will be the first place in the automobile industry, but there is no clear evidence to identify the most effective specific solution. This chapter is divided into two parts, the first part aims to analyze the evaluation of automotive sustainable development by synthesis. A new hybrid multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) model that combines DEMATEL technique and DANP method is proposed. By analysis and comparison, the result shows that renewable energy source is the main influencing criteria that affects the automobile sustainable development. Based on this, the second part of this chapter provides an effective solution. An advanced energy storage based on the super capacitor of self-generating wireless charging is designed to be used in automotive applications. It has advantages of short charging time, high power conversion efficiency and low power consumption.","PeriodicalId":342576,"journal":{"name":"Research Anthology on Clean Energy Management and Solutions","volume":"82 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121185380","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
