Despite several well-developed explosive detection techniques available, the detection of a small amount of explosive traces is still challenging. Terahertz spectroscopy demonstrates potential for explosive detection through unique absorption spectra pattern of various kinds of explosive materials. Terahertz waves show good penetration through many dielectric materials that are visually opaque.
