The problem related to the excitation- capacitance from the rotor side is the required large excitation capacitance to enhance the generator performance in a wide - range. In the present proposed method, a dynamic excitation capacitance is used in the H-Bridge inverter circuit connected in series with a chopper resistance across a 3-phase diode bridge rectifier in the rotor circuit. The duty ratios of the H-bridge thyristor elements and the thyristor chopper element are varied to emulate the excitation-capacitance as well as external-rotor resistance values dynamically, and to be used as terminal voltage and its frequency control. The dynamic excitation-capacitance is used to control the terminal voltage, while the dynamic external rotor resistance is used to control the generator speed (frequency). To study the performance of the WRSRIG a dynamic model is presented in this paper in D-Q axes rotating synchronously in a reference frame. The dynamic model takes into account all the machine parameters, such as stator and rotor - iron core losses, stator and rotor - stray load losses, dynamic saturation of the magnetizing inductance, rotor harmonic losses generated due to switching action of the bridge rectifier, reduction voltage in the rotor circuit due to the over-lap phenomenon and rotor external resistance losses. The new proposed equivalent circuit of the WRSRIG will become an efficient method for studying the performance characteristics of the generator and to be used as a suitable tool for an algorithm of the vector control analysis.","PeriodicalId":340029,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Electrical Engineering","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124993208","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In a standalone wind turbine energy conversion system, the EPLL control scheme extracts the reference source currents (SWECS). The control algorithm employs two proportional-integral (PI) controllers to create the active and reactive power components of the consumers' load currents, estimate reference source currents, and connect the zigzag transformer to PCC with VSC for neutral current compensation. To obtain optimal PI controller gains and most-suited settings to apply to SWECS, optimization approaches are used. The control algorithm is the most significant aspect of the system, and the speed with which it calculates, evaluates, and guesstimates determines the generation of source currents based on the algorithm's ideal controller PI gains. By properly estimating source currents, the EPLL control method improves dynamics and power quality issues, and the optimization technique is employed to acquire the gains of PI controllers. The proposed system employs the EPLL algorithm on a three-phase, four-wire system with changing loads to achieve ideal total harmonic distortion of source currents and voltages on the PCC, as defined by IEEE-519 standards. A battery energy storage device coupled to the VSC dc link keeps the load's necessary power constant. If the generator output exceeds the consumer demand, the excess power is delivered to BESS for temporary storage. When consumer demand exceeds generated power, a BESS delivers deficit power to the load, which adjusts and the frequency under various load conditions. The suggested system simulated results were tested with 3-phase 4-wire for harmonics reduction, load balancing, neutral wire current compensation, frequency and voltage control using MATLAB / Simulink.","PeriodicalId":340029,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Electrical Engineering","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116477465","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On the other hand, this abundance is addictive, Algeria and the importance of its geographical location is one of the countries that absorbs the most solar radiation when the renewable energy and energy efficiency program was implemented in 2011. The windiest areas are located in the southern region of Algeria. Based on this, we will discuss in this article the geographical identification of the Kaberten region and present the qualifications that made it a suitable location for the establishment of the wind field. We will also discuss the type of wind turbine used in the station and display curves showing the electrical energy generated over a period of two years. Finally, we conclude to what extent this project contributes to sustainable development, if the expansion is known to increase the amount of energy generated from clean sources.","PeriodicalId":340029,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Electrical Engineering","volume":"AES-2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126487989","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recently, these systems are favored integrating existing renewable energies in very specific areas to achieve the sustainability of the energy sectors. Hydrogen is considered as means of storing and transmitting energy, especially nowadays, and the sufficiency required by remote areas can be achieved by using hybrid techniques. Our search is the electrification of a tourist site in the region of Kenadsa. In Bechar city, which is located in the south west of the Algerian state. Using an independent small electric network based on the hybridization of renewable energies. The hybrid energy system must be provided with a cost-effective energy solution for the project by optimizing its components, controlling, sizing them with better selection. This research evaluates the technical and economic feasibility of renewable energy systems. This work aims to reduce the total net cost of the pre-determined system as well as the cost of energy and unfulfilled load and to make CO2 emissions lower, this kind of studies is carried out using the simulation program HOMER Pro. At the end we ca say that the proposed system has good results for electrifying remote areas and at a conservative cost of electrical energy in order to establish sustainable areas.","PeriodicalId":340029,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Electrical Engineering","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125338121","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Where parameters of the RST controller are tuned by the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm. First the calculation of conventional RST polynomial is presented. The main goal of this study is to apply and compare the performances of two kinds of regulators (conventional RST and PSO-RST) for DFIG wind turbine system. A vector control of the DFIG is also presented in order to accomplish the control of active and reactive powers. The obtained results show the effectiveness and good performances of PSO-RST controller compared to the conventional RST in terms of reference tracking and disturbances rejection.","PeriodicalId":340029,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Electrical Engineering","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115924453","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the key obstacle in a realization of MTDC is the lack of existing commercial protection device can withstand the DC fault that rises rapidly and surge tenfold within several milliseconds over the whole system. The new technology called Superconducting Fault Current Limiter (SFCL) could bring a solution to the main bottleneck of the MTDC networks. In this work, an electro-thermal model of resistive type SFCL in series with a hybrid DC circuit breaker is proposed to protect a five terminal MTDC network. The numerical analysis carried out using (EMTP-RV®) software, and the simulation results show how effectively the SFCL can reduce the fault current and increase the breaking capability. Moreover, system stability is remarkably improved.","PeriodicalId":340029,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Electrical Engineering","volume":"195 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133822800","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The first step of the work consists in generating the ESS power profiles thanks to a new optimal sizing algorithm. Our approach allows to size the ESS and the renewable energy sources (RES) using a power/energy considerations to generate charging and discharging profiles regardless ESS specifics parameters. In a second step, we review the potential damages on Valves Regulated Lead Acid Batteries (VRLAB). This technology has been chosen because it is the most used ESS in case of stationary applications for urban MG with RES integration. We propose some criterion to quantify the batteries stresses generated by MG working operations. Therefore, we give recommendations to enhance the VRLAB lifetime in both micro-grid design and energy management. Our method has been applied to the photovoltaic production and lighting network consumption profiles of the LAAS-CNRS building integrated photovoltaic. We compare four possible configurations of ESS and RES: two determined thanks to Pareto optimisation method and two critical cases corresponding to the minimal and the maximal values of ESS size into all the possible configuration tested.","PeriodicalId":340029,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Electrical Engineering","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129408577","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Compared to conventional three-phase machines, the third harmonic of back electromotive force (back-EMF) contains more information. Thus, in this paper, the first and third harmonic components of the five-phase machine are considered to estimate the rotor position which is necessary for the vector control. Simulation results are shown to verify the feasibility and the robustness of the proposed sensorless control strategy.","PeriodicalId":340029,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Electrical Engineering","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122002390","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The domain refinement through local surface treatment by laser is an effective technique to reduce the iron losses in grain-oriented iron silicon steels. To interpret the mechanism of this technique, we have quantitatively studied the impact of nanosecond pulse laser treatment on the magnetic properties of grain-oriented Fe(3%wt)Si sheets. We measured the total power loss and apparent permeability of the samples using a Single-Sheet Tester (SST). The laser treatment resulted in a loss reduction of up to 24% compared to the average power loss of standard samples at 50 Hz. At mid-induction levels, the reduction was also accompanied by an improvement in apparent permeability. A dynamic magnetic behavior law was used to identify a dynamic property Λ including information on density, surface area and wall mobility and another internal permeability property µ representative of static field and magnetization characteristics. Lastly, we presented the behavior of these properties under different laser treatment.","PeriodicalId":340029,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Electrical Engineering","volume":"125 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127404420","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
